I love that bag!! I asked for it for Christmas until I saw the Disney Dooney and wanted it instead. It is beautiful in person!

Thanks. It is a beautiful purse. I love how it feels. I debated and debated, but its something I use daily, so I qualified that for one year of use its less than a dollar per day

Nice to finally see the new dooney bag. Saw several bags on Ebay and still not decided if I will purchase the black bag. The one thing that is a plus, is that you don't have to worry much about character placement. Not sure what justifies the price increase on the black bag. Probably because the white bag is so popular and always in demand. Though I noticed on Ebay today that there are lots of wristlets for $49.99 with 1 or no bids. Same for the larger totes.

Now, to those of you who have been in the parks recently.. are there lots of black bags available?

I'm assuming the white bags will sell quicker due to the price difference.
For example: white tote is $175 and the black is $230... $55 price difference.
white tassle tote $150 and the black is $210.. $60 difference

i would think that since pattern placement on the black bags is not an issue, people would just order from wdw whereas with the white bags, at least with ebay you can see the pattern placement before you buy. maybe that is why they charge so much for the white ones on ebay?

I left Orlando yesterday...my daughter had been wanting the white medium tote she often saw at DTD (she's a UCF student) for the past few weeks (for $175). When I went to get it yesterday they were out, but they had dozens and dozens of the black bags. We had them check the computer and he said there we none of the discontinued white bags left, but after the black ones, another series of very similar white bags will come. He also said we might want to check out other places that sold them just in case the computer was wrong (and told us where to look). So we found plenty of the white small satchels at the Grand Floridian (proving the computer was wrong), but no medium totes. Plenty of black bags any size. GF employee reiterated that a new white or cream series is supposed to hit in January, and there will be a larger tote. No Dooney and Bourke on the fabric, though (allegedly).

But she was nice enough to give me park merchandise fulfillment's phone number, and I'll call them Monday, but probably end up paying a $75 premium for the white medium totes on eBay anyway.

But my sad story aside - there were plenty of black bags in DTD and Grand Floridian.

I'm happy with my white tote, Especially the placement of the castle right in the center of the bag. I think the black bags are okay but I think the white ones are much better. I guess I would have to see the black ones in person but for now I couldn't have asked for a cuter bag that screams my love for disney and the parks...

one thing i just noticed on the wristlets i see on ebay. the new black pattern wristlets look like they have a slip pocket on the back? either that, or there is just a strip of black leather for trim. i don't think the white wristlets had this. can anyone confirm?

Yes, the black wristlet has a little pocket in the back that you could slip something small in. The white wristlet did not have this.

Thank you! I am going to try and call DW Merch. on Monday morning and switch my large tote to the large tassel tote. Hope I make it in time before they ship out.

Thanks for the update. Glad to hear you found at least one of the bags you wanted I'll be there 12/20 and some of my friends had asked me to get them the white purses. Seems like Ebay might be the only choice now. Prices have not been as high lately.. hopefully they'll find a good deal or will have to get one of the black bags.

I love my white disney dooney, but it takes me forever to find my things in there Seems like the big black tote is just as big.. I'll compare them when we go next week.. though I won't be taking my white purse. I usually just travel with a small kipling bag.

Just got back from the MK. They had lots of the new black designs in the tote, tassel tote, and wristlet. I didn't see a bucket bag that some people reported was available. There were no white bags. The bags didn't really seem to be generating much interest--at least not like the white ones did.

I'm just not impressed with the print on the black one. Like many others have said, I was really looking forward to the print from the white bag, but on black. That I would have bought in a heartbeat!

I think the price increase might be a factor, but I also don't think the bag is very unique looking (like the first one was) for people to pick up in the first place. A few ladies asked me why the Mickey purse was so expensive, and seemed to think it was like all the other Mickey print bags available. They weren't familiar with D &B. I wish I still considered D & B an expensive brand. My budget would thank me. It's a cute bag, but I'm still hoping that the white design shows up in another color.

Are you still able to check MK? Like I said previously, I was told there were none available when I was at DTD last Saturday, but I went to the MK to check. They had quite a few at the jewelry store on Main Street.

snow.white- I love the front of your bag, it is perfect. Also, you back is seriously exactly like the back on mine. My Dh was sitting next to me and even noticed that it was practically the same!

I am still curious as to if the bags are bigger and that is the price difference or if they just raised the price since the white sold the way it did.

I think the reason I like the white better is because it not only shows my love for Mickey but it shows it for the parks and for other characters. It is just more me and my love for all things Disney, if that makes sense.
