There used to be quite a few auctions like that back when people were trying to circumvent final value fees, but now that you have to pay FVF on shipping costs as well, I don't get what the point of listing that way is? Hoping for someone to push BIN before they realize how much they're getting hit with in shipping maybe?
That said, $120 all in for that bag is a better deal than the 25% off sale was, but I'd say buying from someone with 0 feedback, who is shipping from the UK, is a bit of a risk. Of course it's not a temptation for me since that bag is
Not just to circumvent fees, but if you wanted to return the bag, you would only get your $10 back, because that is what you paid for the bag. They get to keep the 'shipping' fees. Stay away from listing like this. In fact, stay away from Ebay!!
Well, as someone who has bought and sold quite a few Disney Dooney's on e-bay, all without a single problem, I have to say I don't love the stay away from e-bay altogether advice.
That said, I agree that you need to be careful, and no way would I touch the outrageous shipping, 0 feedback, UK or Vietnam sellers.
BTW, the buyer protection program now covers the purchase price and original shipping fees. Not that it's ever fun to deal with making a claim. Better to avoid questionable auctions in the first place.

Just have to chim in here...IeBay. I have bought and sold so many items on eBay. Sure, there have been a few problems but eBay and PayPal both have great buyer/seller protection in place if you follow the proper buying/seller procedures (always getting a tracking number, paying from your CC not your bank account).
That's true!
I have a question though, someone is going to the marathon on ebay and is getting purses. He closed the listing for the crossbody and never had the Colette listed. I contacted him and he said he would get me one for $325 WITHOUT ebay, through paypal OR $350 through ebay.
Now I did paypal with someone here and no problem whatsoever, in fact I would do it again no question asked. But this is a person from ebay, someone I do not have any contact with.
What do you ladies think? HELP!!!!!![]()
I believe if you pay with pay pal you are still covered under the buyer protection. Like if you don't get the item the seller has to prove with a tracking number that he sent it.
Does he have good feed back on eBay?
Thanks Sarah! Yes, we've been in contact all day today via private email and she does have good feedback on ebay so I feel better about this.
And I do not have a Collette bag. Looked online for the dimensions on ds.com and it looks like I would really like this. So, why not.
Missed out on the Tinkerbell, maybe I can get this one.
Just bumming a little over the darn pricetag, dang it!![]()
So... this is what I found when I got home this afternoon.

Can you just imagine the conversation between my DH and the UPS guy!
I ordered three Chamilia Beads and four bracelets and they sent each piece in a separate box!!
On a better note, the eighth box had these two items in it....
