Well they said four weeks and it showed up today. One day shy of exactly four weeks. I got the strap back in a plain envelope with no letter no explanation and no refund of my shipping cost. They told me to put a receipt in the envelope and they would pay for it. Well I see they are really good for their word.

I am completely put off by this whole production and am not very pleased with the so called customer service.

Yeah, that really does bite that your first impression with D&B had to start like this. :sad2:
Glad you finally got it back and you can start enjoying your 40th messenger, Brandi!

I'm wondering if anyone has a favorite bag to carry at the parks?

I'm packing for a long weekend at WDW this weekend and I can't decide which bag to bring. :rotfl:

I'm currently torn between the 40th messenger and the minnie erica.

My ol' fav is the Tonal letter carrier that I scotchgarded.
But if I had a 40th messenger for the parks, I would carry that in a heartbeat!

Lynn.. on my last xmas trip I used my 55th messenger and loved it :) Lots of space for my phone, camera, cosmetic bag, etc.

Have a wonderful trip:cutie:

I only recently got my first Dooneys, and I thought for sure I'd carry one in the parks. Now that I have them, I'm not so sure. I am using my medium sketch right now, and I'm so worried about getting it dirty! I can't imagine taking it on rides. I also have a camera bag I will be carrying around that I could fit everything in... seems senseless to carry a Dooney too. I could fit my DSLR in one of the Dooney's, or around my neck, but then why did I buy the camera bag! I was going to put my wristlet in the camera bag. Maybe I could also use my black balloon drawstring... or better yet, I'll just have to buy a letter carrier! :rolleyes1

What are the chances I could get a letter carrier and a 40th bucket out of this trip. :scratchin:

Decisions, decisions...

We are going to be at WDW at the same time.:)

I feel the same way about carrying my bags at the parks, but this time we are just doing a short 4 day trip so I thought it was time.

I have a pretty packed schedule for us this weekend, so I'm not sure I'm going to get any Dooney shopping in. Alhough, that's probably a good thing! :lmao:

Lulu'sMom, the tonal letter carrier is a little small for what I will need to carry this time. I will be taking whatever bag I bring onto the plane and then right to the parks the first day out.

Liza, the messenger is the perfect size, I just wonder if it might get heavy. I find the strap to be a bit cumbersome.

Decisions, decisions!

Personally I think any of them would get heavy. The strap on the messenger is heavy by itself, and the fabric of the Dooneys is heavy. I don't take mine with me to the park, I take the smallest lightest bag I can, otherwise I end up with sore shoulders and back.

I have the Mickey Sports Sac backpack that I use for everyone else's stuff and then I use my purple letter carrier for all of my essentials, this way I'm not rifling around through the bag trying to find what I need. And i'm pretty hands-free then too.

My concern with the Erica would be getting it dirty, I think I'd stay away from a fabric bag for the parks.

I've only once used a shoulder bag in the parks and I thought my arm was going to fall off I was so sore!

I agree with you on the messenger strap though...that might feel really heavy.

A little off topic, but does anyone else's messenger creak when they walk? I find the hardware on my 55th makes noise....

Can someone catch me up? I've been MIA.

What's the story with the few selections on Disney Shopping? Are they not making the Disney Dooneys anymore?

I really wanted a 40th anniversary bucket tote, but these are long gone from online and when we stopped by DTD on a trip we passed thru Orlando, I didn't see hardly any Dooneys. I went into WOD and TrenD. :confused3

Did I miss the scoop?

Yes! My 55th messenger does make a creaking sound as I walk. I use it as my "park bag" and the sound tends to drive DH nuts. :rotfl2:

:rotfl2: Yep, my 40th creaks too when I walk!
Have you ever had your strap just fall off when you pick it up? Mine has done it a couple of times as I am getting out of the car, it just unhooks and falls off.

Hi, Everyone --

My name is Kathy and I have become a Disney Dooney addict. Thanks to all of your posts, in the past 2 months I've gotten the Medium Sketch, Tonal Letter Carrier, Striped Mickey Tote and matching wristlet and Red and White Striped Mickey Erica and matching wristlet. I love them all!!!

I have a question about the Erica. I'd like to lengthen the strap on it, but I can't get any of the tabs "unbuttoned" from their current spots. I didn't want to try to force it or tug too hard and do any damage. Does anyone have any tips for getting the strap undone? I'm thinking of taking it to the Dooney store to see if they can help, but I thought I'd try here first.

Thanks for any suggestions!

I ended up selling my DL55 messenger. I knew it wasn't a good style for me when I bought it, I just had to give it a shot though.

But yes, when I tried it out around the house (never carried it anywhere else since I didn't want to remove the tags) I noticed the creaking as well. That actually played into my decision to let it go.

My first thought was that it might stop, or at least lessen, as the purse loosened with age; but then I remembered I have a Coach Kristin bag that is still creaking after 4+ years of use. So I'm not sure what the answer is.

The only D&B bag I use as a park bag is the letter carrier. It works for me when I travel light, but is definitely smaller than I'd prefer.

I'm still holding out hope that they'll come out with something in a backpack style. That's what works best for me as a park bag.

I remember someone posting awhile back that a CM told them the Disney/D&B collaboration was ending, but then the Minnie Bow bags came out a few days later, so who knows for sure?

I think stock has always been pretty wonky. They don't seem to have a good handle on what is going to be a big seller, or not.

It will be interesting to see if any D&B bags make an appearance at the AP sales later this month. Any bets?

Hi, I am probably going to be selling a bucket, 40th anniversary. New. I had one and sold it then bought another because i wanted a different style, I have the Kristen for the 55th. But, the bucket is just too small for all the junk I carry. It has perfect placement on the back. All three characters. The front has Goofy at the top and pluto partly at the very bottom. I paid 288 on bid but if I sell it outside of ebay I would be willing to sell it for 250 plus shipping. If I sell it on ebay I will ask more since I lose fees. Anyone interested, let me know. I will look up the ebay number and post that so you can see pictures of the purse from when I bought it there. If anyone wants to email me directly I am Kathy Peoples on facebook and you pm me from there.

Hi, here is the item number from ebay, just search this number and the item will come up and you can see pictures.

Mine has done that a couple of times too!! i freaks me out every time, I'm afraid I'm going to lose something out of it.

I'm sort of glad to hear that others have the creaking problem. So many people rave about their messenger, I was starting to think maybe I walk funny or something:rotfl:.

Mine creaks too... it is rather annoying, but not sure how to fix it...

My Princess wristlet just arrived! It's very cute, but not even close to having the placement I wanted. I really wanted Belle on it, and there's not even one Belle. I can't post pictures now, but I will as soon as my post count is high enough.

I'm now debating what to do with it. I could hold onto it as a gift for my little sister's birthday- she saw me looking at them and wanted one herself. I could then just buy one I liked from ebay. I'm just worried that my sister may still be a little young to take proper care of it; She's only 8. :confused3 Otherwise, I could order two more from the Disney Store, pick my favorite of the 3 to keep, and return the other ones. Any thoughts/advice would be very much appreciated! Thanks!

Another one here that has a messenger that creaks! The first time I heard it I couldn't figure out where it was coming from....! My strap has never come undone though.

My messenger doesn't seem to have to creaking problem that so many of you seem to have. Maybe it has something to do with the newness of my bag or the way I carry it? Or maybe it just depends on the individual bag? :confused3
