wow, this thread has been active about princesses the past few days. I have been gone dealing with a daughter who had an allergic reaction, thankfully she is better and got to participate if festivities last night and today! Anyways, I am excited tomorrow I get my tonal mickey wallet and sometime this week I should get my sketch tote and harvey Minnie bag!!!!

Welcome back Casey. I am so glad your daughter is better. Woohoo, your getting your wallet tomorrow. Keep us posted on how you like the Harvey bag and if the sketch works out for you in this size. Again, glad you are back and contributing to the thread.

Congratulations :woohoo: Of course, we would love to see pictures when you get it :yay: I am glad you didn't have to go over retail :rolleyes1

I don't know how to do pictures on this, but my son seems to know how to do everything on computers so I will have him teach me before it comes and then I will post pictures:rotfl2: I love the tickers you guys have and I tried to put up one and it finished saying I had to copy and paste and then I didn't know what to do, so he is going to show me tomorrow how to do that also. This thread is not only helping me in my love of Disney Dooneys but I am learning computers as well. :dance3:

On my earlier topic of the Princess tote, I found one that came on ebay today and snatched it up. I didn't save much but I didn't pay over msrp. You were right about patience, thankfully I didn't have to be patient long, because patience is not one of my best virtues:upsidedow

I've managed to stay away from the Princess line (not really me) but show me a Minnie bow tote, and it's mine! Oh, you already did that!

I noticed there isn't much left on disneystore.com; anyone know of some other new things coming out?

Casey, I am glad your daughter is doing well but that must have been scary  My Striped Mickey Tote is also scheduled to arrive today along with the Disney shirts I ordered with the 20% off :yay: I can't wait to see that UPS truck come down my street :rotfl: Keeping my fingers crossed that the straps will be long enough to use it as a shoulder bag pixiedust: Looking forward to seeing pictures of your new bags and wallet :dance3:

How are everyone's white sketch bags doing as far as yellowing? I have had mine since Oct. 2009. I don't use it a lot but I do think it might be less white now. It's hard to tell. At least if it is yellowing, it is uniform so it's not obvious.

I have had mine for that long as well and I feel exactly the same way you do. It SEEMS less white, but if it's yellowing, it's doing it all over, at least!

I always thought the Sketch pattern was lovely but the bags are not my style. I need simple lightweight crossbody bags I can beat up. Though I do have a wristlet, and the Lucy is nice :) I fell in love with the weekender and kept drooling and with the last big sale I finally splurged. :cool1: It is huge! I was expecting it to be slightly smaller. I pack on the light side and I would call it a week-er, not a weekend-er

Hi, I bought the sketch tassel in the 1st edition new a year ago Feb. and the medium tote at the same time but bought that in the 2nd edition. I sold the tassel because it was too small for me. However, at the time I compared the two and the original was a more creamier white than the tote in the 2nd edition. I don't feel my tote has gotten yellower or less white but that is a new thought to consider. I don't know if yours is the first edition but based on when you got it, I thought it might be.

Mine is a first edition Cindy tote. I like how you say "creamier". Sounds much better than saying it's yellowing, lol! :rotfl:

My DH bought my sketch bag for me as a "reward" for finishing the Princess Half in March of last year. I carried it for a little while, but was so afraid of ruining it. I decided this past weekend, to pull it back out. I have noticed that the white doesn't seem to be as bright as it was when I first bought it, but I still love the bag. The part that bothers me though, is the leather. I read on Dooney's site that you can't really clean it with anything, and that it will darken with use. My problem is that there are little bitty dark spots on it from where I was caught out in the rain with it. Does anyone else have this? I was thinking of taking a wet cloth and going over all the leather to try and make it all the same color, but I was afraid that I'd mess it up even more. I love, love, love my bag, but this is the one part that I really don't like!

Yes, mine has some rain spots too but they are very light. I doubt anyone notices them except for me.

I am so disappointed my wallet was supposed to arrive today but it got delayed and wont come until tomorrow :-( I have no patience

So I have been using my Lucy for about 6 months now and finally decided to switch to the Kristen 40th!! I LOVE it! It feels so good to have a big bag again, although probably the biggest bag I've ever used...the Lucy is just a little too small. Totally doable...but I like bigger. The straps are not as comfortable but I've been just keeping it at my elbow or just holding the handle in my hands and it is possible to throw it up on my shoulder if need be. So excited!!

Just wanted to thank everyone for their advice about my Lucy (posted pics back on page 175!) After lots of consideration, I've decided to keep it! No, the placement is not perfect, and of course, I could send it back and get another, or order 3 more and send back the ones I don't like, but the more I looked at it, the more it seemed like MY purse. :) Sounds silly, but I felt kind of bad for it. It could be a lot worse, and I'm starting to even like the placement. What really did it for me was the Cheshire Cat in the corner of the bag in the front, I love that he is right there!

I used it for the first time today, and I love carrying it around! :lovestruc I wish the strap was a little longer, and compared to the purse I have been carrying, it seems a little on the small side, but I'll probably use this as my summer purse since it's white and switch back to my other Disney Dooney in the fall.

Question - Has anyone every returned items to D&B for replacement or repair?

I bought my messenger bag a week ago and the leather clasp around the cloth strap was coming unsewn. I sent them an email and I got a form letter back telling me to mail to them, then I would get a letter explaining what needed to be done and then they repair or replace depending on my reply.

I mailed them the strap 2 day via USPS and got notification from USPS that the package was delivered, but I have yet to hear anything from D&B....

I was hoping that someone on here had dealt with them before and could shed some light on the experience.

TIA

Well I wanted to give an update on the D&B process...

So I got a letter from D&B dated June 8, 2011 telling me that it could take up to 4 weeks to get my strap back.. Really!!!

I think this is unacceptable. I mean they are a big company and I bought a brand new bag, copied the receipt and sent it along and all they had to do was send a new strap back to me, but I get a form letter (attached) and longer wait time than should be.

Well they said four weeks and it showed up today. One day shy of exactly four weeks. I got the strap back in a plain envelope with no letter no explanation and no refund of my shipping cost. They told me to put a receipt in the envelope and they would pay for it. Well I see they are really good for their word.

I am completely put off by this whole production and am not very pleased with the so called customer service.

I am SO protective of my 40th messenger! I carry a plastic bag inside of it at all times, in case it starts to rain. If it starts to sprinkle even a little, I immediately whip out the plastic bag and stick my messenger inside of it. Carrying around a Target bag, then, doesn't look nearly as nice as my Dooney, but it does keep protected from the rain.

My wristlet (first Dooney) is supposed to arrive tomorrow :) I need a pick me up.

My wristlet is supposed to come tomorrow, too! It will be my second Dooney, though. Still hoping for good placement and for good placement for anyone else who's waiting for theirs, too pixiedust:

I'm wondering if anyone has a favorite bag to carry at the parks?

I'm packing for a long weekend at WDW this weekend and I can't decide which bag to bring. :rotfl:

I'm currently torn between the 40th messenger and the minnie erica.
