Dooney & Bourke Disney collaboration ~ part 3

I got mine yesterday!!! Was a happy mail day!!

I stopped by my mom's house on the way to work and picked mine up but I'll have to take pictures on my lunch break.

I got the Wonder Tassle Tote. I really didn't care what color Mickey's were where except I didn't want a big red one on the front and what did I get...a big red one on the front.

I'm not sure yet if I'm going to keep it or send it back and try again. I'll look at it a bit better at lunch and post pictures for you all to see.

For those that have sent back a bag, how much did it cost and what all do you have to do (as far as letting Disney know).

I have returned to Disney three times and it is very easy. I have done it both with UPS and priority mail and find priority mail is less expensive. I get a delivery confirmation number and then Disney always processes the return within a day of getting it back. Then is is on my Visa in a couple of more days. Get the delivery confirmation number, one of them was delivered and never checked in at Disney and they gave me the return when I gave them the proof it was delivered to them. ON the back of the packing slip in the box is a form to fill out and a sticker to put on the box with the return address to Disney. Sometimes Disney uses way too big a box and it is in your interest price wise to put it in a smaller box if it will work. USPS charges extra if a box is bigger than 12x 12x 12. Hope this helps. Also, you can exchange for a different purse by marking that on the form and checking the sticker on the box that it is an exchange.

Brandi, I am sorry, but I think you have to join the rest of us Addicts We love company!!! I do wish I could say I only have 3 bags but that would be a gross lie. I guess since you only have 3 but bought in one week makes you a lesser addict than some of us. But personally I think it is a good addiction. It sure brightens the day to carry such cute purses.

Alright for the rest of us addicts, how many purses do you own????
Ugg, I hate to admit this but I own 9, but I have gotten them over 1 1/2 years time. I only own two other purses beside, so 11 purses total is not that many compared to friends of mine who have way more purses. But, I did just bid on my tenth Disney one! Anyway, will others confess to how many they have???

Also, I went to your limey thread and was reading a little, I am an ex nurse before I stayed at home with my kids, how is your husband doing after the surgery he had last year on his feet? You seem like such a nice person and couple I was wondering how all that went.

Hi, Some have been gifts or some I have financed with selling things on ebay. I have the Sketch tote, Balloon drawstring bag, both Mickey and Minnie faces cloth purse, Disney Cruise sketch, 40th ann. messenger bag, 55th ann. Kristen tote, the new Minnie Bow tote and Minnie Bow pouchette and I love the Minnie Bow so much I want the tote in both colors so that is the one I just bid on.
I now just remembered I have the balloon cosmetic bag that I got for $15 when I ordered a purse from Disney, and for Mother's Day my sons got me the wristlet that is striped black. I forgot about those two because I use them in my purse to organize things. My addiction sounds worse and worse all the time

I'd need to count mine, but I just bought a big basket at Target to Organize them and keep them safe. There was a time, little more than a year ago when my sketch Cindy & Wonder tote sat nicely side by side. Since then my little shelf has been overrun!

DH is doing really good. He is MUCH better now, I know that we were a little worried with doing both at the same time but it was by far the best decision. The surgery was pretty gruesome and intense but he is feeling good and walking better every day.

Today I am getting the Tonal Wristlet and the sketch cosmetic bag. I got the 40th anniversary messenger over memorial day, but it is back at D&B hopefully getting a new strap... Well the strap is there, the bag is my house.

I have a sketch purse tote and it is matte. I was not aware at all that they had two versions. I know this isn't helpful but I didn't want you to not have anyone respond to you. I have had my matte one for over a year and it is doing fine. No stains or anything, but I am fanatical with the care of my purses and I never put them on the floor etc. When they are not being used I store them stuffed to keep their shape and in a closed plastic box. I have a bag hook to put them on the table at restaurants etc. instead of the floor. I am anxious to see what others say about this glossy version.

I saw your last post and meant to respond, but I got sidetracked.

I was not aware that the sketch bag came with a glossy finish. That must be something really new.

I have the balloon margot which is a white bag with the glossy finish and I think that it has definitely held up better than my original sketch tote. I use the margot a lot and it looks like new. I have not noticed any yellowing on the margot either.

I wonder if the pattern on the new ones is the same, or if they have made any changes to it?

My name is Jenni & I'm a Disney Dooney addict!!

My first purchase was the large sketch and pink wristlet last summer during our trip - I had been searching all week (Uptown, Mousegears and somewhere else, but it escapes me 9 months later) and found my perfect placement at the shop in HS. Love both pieces.

My second purchase was Cyber Monday - I got the black balloon Susannah and the white balloon cosmetic. I love big, roomy bags.

I made it until April, when my friend picked up a Dream bag and wristlet on the 4/7 cruise, but I have a friend on the 5/8 cruise who is exchanging the set for a large sketch and wristlet in red or yellow (and I've been counting down the days for this set since last APRIL when they were released). So technically I don't have my DCL pieces... YET! Sunday night can't come fast enough! I am excited to see where Goofy is on this bag, he's my fave.

My LAST set is the white Pop Princess East/West bag and wristlet - they arrived yesterday! I'd ordered two over Memorial Day warehouse sale and both had super placement, but I finally picked one about 12 hours later. Snow White is perfectly centered over the Dooney label on the front.

My next purchases will be (I hope) a 'bargain' sketch crossbody (eBay) and then the 40th Kristen and wallet when we go in mid-August. I'd like full characters, especially Goofy, on my Kristen. The wallet I just want come color. I am interested in the larger Minnie bow pieces, but I suspect I'll wait until Thanksgiving, since placement doesn't matter on them so much.

I consider myself pretty tech savy but I have no idea how to post pictures on the board! So I'll continue to enjoy those that you have posted and just share my collection on the Facebook page.

I was not aware the sketch came in the shiny finish now either. I think the shiny would hold up better, my matte sketch does not look as good as it used to. The shiny finish is very easy to wipe off.

I have a big pink one where the buckle is. Then a red one on the left and a grenn on the right. There is also a purple one in the seam. So I guess I'm all ready for Christmas. I was hoping for one like my mom's she has alot of the blues in the front. I actually like the back of the bag better than the front. But I'm keeping mine.

It is really bad. My dh thinks I am insane, but I just point to his boat, four wheeler and all the hunting and fishing gear!

I don't have the blue Mickey faces purse and would like one, but the bidding on ebay goes too crazy for me. I also do not have a pink Minnie one either. It just never has grabbed me like some of the others.

I wasn't planning on getting a Steamboat Willie bag, until I saw them in person yesterday. Loved them! I'm torn between the bucket tote and the rope tote, not sure which one I'll get yet, but I'm pretty sure one of them will eventually be coming home with me.

Hey Corrine, sorry your question got ignored. I missed it. But like the other folks who just responded, I didn't realize they were making the sketch pattern in different finishes. I tend to think the glossy finish might be a bit easier to take care of, but then I haven't had any problems with my white DCL bag in the original finish either, so may just be a matter of choosing the one you like the look of better.
