Dooney & Bourke Disney collaboration ~ part 3

I just read the listing again on the Minnie bag and a couple of things stood out to me.

1. "There are no visible defects, scratches, impairments, etc. The type of Dooney & Bourke hang tag on this bag always looks worn if you are not familiar with it, and is not a defect. It is a heavy duty gold tone tag imprinted with "Dooney & Bourke 1975"with a cut-out Dooney & Bourke duck that lays on top of a leather hang tag. The gold tone is meant to look aged."

I wouldn't say that the ones I have look aged.

2. "The interior is lined in green fabric."

My Erica is lined in nylon (hot pink). The other two of these pattern are also lined in hot pink nylon.)

Hmm, that's right, the other's are pink aren't they. I'm going to ask her for more pictures.

I did some research for you just to be certain, so feel free to verify also with Dooney & Bourke via telephone. You can't do it online, as I already tried. The style number is SP479 color EX (means exclusive). The purse has been discontinued, so that's probably why you haven't seen any around in the stores lately. So if you love it-make sure you bid-you may not get another chance for this bag!

I just got back to my room at Beach Club and wanted to let you know the 40th Anniversary wallets came out today. They were at World of Disney this morning. Still the checkbook style though and the price was $175.

Yippee It looks like all our combined good wishes and pixie dust worked Now I just have to have the patience to wait 10 more weeks Better keep racking up those Disney reward points Thanks for posting this

I foolishly didn't snap a photo today. I'll be back there later tonight or tomorrow and I'll be sure to take a few. If someone hasn't posted a photo by the time I get home on Friday I'll post them. This hobby (umm-obsession) is costing me a fortune.

The checkbook style 40th anniversary wallets are now at World of Disney. They may be in other stores as well as they just came out today or last night. I was in most of the stores yesterday and they still were not out. I got there this morning at about 11 o'clock and there they were. Wish it were a little smaller.

Sounds like the wallets have been out for a few days

DH was with the friend who just got back and bought me the Kristen 40th on Monday. Just informed me that he said something to the effect of, "Yeah, they had these matching wallets but I didn't even want to ask."

It's possible he was thinking of the wristlets but either way....I'm glad they are out now and I can't wait for a picture! It's probably better that it wasn't there because I really don't need to be spending even MORE money on this new obsession!

I'm pretty sure I saw that Minnie bag at the Disney Warehouse Outlet at the Vineland Ave Premium Outlet mall last month. They were one the wall behind the register with the smaller pouch style. Maybe try to call and see if they have them.

Do you think that I could order this from disneystore.com and be assured that I would get at least one Mickey, one Minnie, and one castle (without any of those things being cut off or covered by leather)? I'm thinking since it's so big, you would definitely get one of each at least. What did the ones you saw in WDW look like? Did they all seem to have good placement as far as the things I mentioned? Thanks!

Not necessarily - I was posting anyway so I thought your quote made sense. I bought a Cindy bag last year then the handles got messed up and I sent it for repair and Dooney replaced it...with Mickey's head blocked off. So knowing I was going to DLR a few months later I sold it on ebay then bought the large sketch tote - and the guy at the store in DL went all over the room to find me one with mickey and minnie on the front unobstructed.

Then I had a problem with that bag - turned out to be color transfer not dirt and I sent it for repair almost two weeks ago and with it a letter saying if it had to be replaced please send a bag with a mickey and minnie unobstructed somewhere on the front of the bag. I even went so far as to send a picture of the original bag. I am out of town but the replacement came today and it is awful. Here's a pic of the old one and the new one (the old is the clear one)

So I called tonight and a nice gentleman at sales (cust svc is closed have to call tomorrow) said that even though I had a picture, these are exclusively sold through Disney so the replacement is fulfilled through Disney and does not go to the Dooney warehouse. He told me to ask that they send a few to the Dooney warehouse so someone can pick out one that is suitable for me as a replacement as well as send me a UPS label to pick up the one they just sent. He was very nice and pointed out for the price of the bag I should get what I wanted.

So my post is twofold...for OP to see that there can be bad placement (depending on what you like -the rest of it is fine by my priority was mickey and minnie - you can see mickey's feet and minnie's pinky under the straps) on the ginormous bag and also that Dooney seems to be standing behind their product as expected. We'll see what customer service says in the morning - I'm really upset. I went from a bag that made me smile to one that made my want to cry

Funny now that I look at the pictures top and bottom they are so close - if only mickey and minnie were an inch or two lower they would match!
