So my post is twofold...for OP to see that there can be bad placement (depending on what you like -the rest of it is fine by my priority was mickey and minnie - you can see mickey's feet and minnie's pinky under the straps) on the ginormous bag and also that Dooney seems to be standing behind their product as expected. We'll see what customer service says in the morning - I'm really upset. I went from a bag that made me smile to one that made my want to cry

Funny now that I look at the pictures top and bottom they are so close - if only mickey and minnie were an inch or two lower they would match!

What constitutes perfect placement is so individual isn't it?. I love the symmetry of the crowns in the top corners and the Cheshire Cat in the bottom corners on your replacement bag, and I think it would be ideal for a Tink fan too.

But if Mickey and Minnie are your favorites, I can absolutely understand why you're disappointed with it.

I hope the customer service folks are as understanding as the guy you spoke to in sales. Keep us posted.

Not necessarily - I was posting anyway so I thought your quote made sense. I bought a Cindy bag last year then the handles got messed up and I sent it for repair and Dooney replaced it...with Mickey's head blocked off. So knowing I was going to DLR a few months later I sold it on ebay then bought the large sketch tote - and the guy at the store in DL went all over the room to find me one with mickey and minnie on the front unobstructed.

Then I had a problem with that bag - turned out to be color transfer not dirt and I sent it for repair almost two weeks ago and with it a letter saying if it had to be replaced please send a bag with a mickey and minnie unobstructed somewhere on the front of the bag. I even went so far as to send a picture of the original bag. I am out of town but the replacement came today and it is awful. Here's a pic of the old one and the new one (the old is the clear one)

So I called tonight and a nice gentleman at sales (cust svc is closed have to call tomorrow) said that even though I had a picture, these are exclusively sold through Disney so the replacement is fulfilled through Disney and does not go to the Dooney warehouse. He told me to ask that they send a few to the Dooney warehouse so someone can pick out one that is suitable for me as a replacement as well as send me a UPS label to pick up the one they just sent. He was very nice and pointed out for the price of the bag I should get what I wanted.

It's really big -- much bigger than the large tote (which I do own in addition to the medium tote in the sketch pattern)! So I'm hoping that I get something good -- I ordered it today so we'll see.

The reason I was interested in your story is that I think that I had the same problem with my medium sketch that you had with your large tote. I noticed what seemed to be red dye on it. I know that I didn't spill anything on it. I tried to wipe it off but it wouldn't come off. Then I noticed it in a few other spots as well. Sounds like what you mentioned -- color transfer. I emailed D&B and they told me to send it in. I did what you did -- asked for good placement without Mickey, Minnie, or the castle covered by any of the leather. I sent it last Tuesday and I haven't received anything yet or heard from them. I'm a little anxious. I guess we'll see what happens.

The placement on the second bag would make me want to cry too - because I also love Mickey and Minnie the most on the sketch pattern. I really really hope they make it right for you!

No, I didn't take pictures. The first thing that I thought was that it seemed like the red lining dye somehow leaked through to the outside of the bag. But how could that happen? I really have no idea what happened though.

I bought the white margot on e-bay, so I have no idea when or where the seller purchased it.

I bought the black margot from DS, and they sent the heart dangle after the fact. I did order back when the balloon collection was first released and the pictures and desriptions all showed/mentioned heart dangles.

I have a feeling that the only reason some of us got hearts is because folks called Disney on the website pictures/desriptions. I have a strong suspicion that leaving the heart off was a cost cutting measure and they fully intended to sell everything in the balloon collection without them.

Thank you for the picture. I finally got Dooney's CS to agree that the Margot should have a medallion and was told to send them a copy of the receipt and they would send me one. I faxed my receipt last week but have yet to hear back or to receive anything. I'm hoping they come through. I also hope I get the smaller heart, it seems more fitting with the size of the bag.

Do you think that I could order this from disneystore.com and be assured that I would get at least one Mickey, one Minnie, and one castle (without any of those things being cut off or covered by leather)? I'm thinking since it's so big, you would definitely get one of each at least. What did the ones you saw in WDW look like? Did they all seem to have good placement as far as the things I mentioned? Thanks!

I am on the pickier side as well and though that one on ebay wouldn't be my choice, I'd be ok with it. There are one each completely visible Mickey and Minnie on both sides though I'd prefer them together. I'm just hoping for the best. There was one on ebay a little while ago that had what I considered good placement (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dl...witem=&sspagename=STRK:MEWAX:IT#ht_500wt_1156) and only went for $255 but I wanted to use some gift cards and Disney Visa reward dollars for mine. I'm just going to hope for the best.

I completely get that. I was tempted to bid on it when I first saw it, but I talked myself out of it. First of all, I already have the Minnie pouchette, and secondly, I just bought a mini Margot from another Disser.

I didn't get to take any pics last night as no other stores had the 40th anniversary wallets. I only saw them at WOD and I didn't get back there last night. I went to MouseGears, Uptown Jewelers and Emporium. I was told Emporium sent all of their bags over to Uptown and no longer were stocking them. I wondered if that was because of the discount coupons that you can use at The Emporium that you get on some of your receipts. Anyway, heading to Dowtown in a few minutes and will check that out.

Mine, too, is a pinkish/reddish tint. Near the bottom corner and then in other various spots on the purse. The spot near the bottom is the biggest.

I reached customer service this morning and the guy was so nice - he has sent a request to the warehouse to get a few different bags with mickey and minnie on the front and then he is going to call me and then hopefully he will have something that works (the thing is huge it shouldn't be that hard to get mickey and minnie somewhere unobstructed) and then will send me a UPS label and arrange a pickup.

I sent my bag on 1/28 and got the new, bad one on 2/9 and I live in NJ (they are in CT) if that helps on timing. Give them a call and see what they are doing - they are all very nice I've found.

I don't have a picture of my color transfer but it was black like really dirty - so it must have been from my clothes. It was on the back of the bag more - I was careful to always carry it the same way.

But I so miss my bag.....I am using something smaller and it's a mess!
