Yay! Hope you are having a great summer. I haven't seen anyone really, we are so busy with work right now.

I am very envious of your upcomming trip!!! I could really use a Disney fix right about now. My growing Dooney collection helps some, but it's not quite enough.

Speaking of Disney trips and Dooney bags, I was thinking of asking you if you would maybe make a purchase for me when you go? If I can manage to save up enough, I am wanting one of the new princess design ones. I want a specific pattern on it though, so I don't want to order it by phone.

Can't wait to see you sporting the new bag! :cool1:

Ha!! Yes, Of course I will!! I would gladly bring you home a yummy souvie and can even send pictures from the store to your cell to make sure you get the perfect one!

Looking forward to see you at school soon... So we can compare our D&B Disney bags!! ;) And looking forward to a great school year!!:guilty: It will be here before we know it!

I've used my AP discount on my past two Disney Dooney's. I got them in the store on Main Street and the name has slipped my mind. I've actually had a few CM's combine my AP discount and my Disney Visa discount. The only store that I've come across that wouldn't take my AP discount was at the store at AKL-Kidani. I'm sure there are others but most of the stores in the park you can use the AP discount.

I think the name of the store at MK on Main Street is called Main Street Jewelers but I'm not 100% sure. They had alot of Dooneys when I was there in June & had a guard standing beside the Dooney tables!

Okay ladies I know a lot of you had asked previously if it was possible to order the DL 55th bags from Disneyland mail order and now that school is getting back in session I have had numerous compliments on my bags and lots of how/where to buy questions so I thought I would call and ask. The answer is yes in fact you can order them direct from disney, however, shipping is absolutely insane!!! I called and asked about an order for 1 letter carrier and 1 wristlet and was told LC $155 wristlet $70:cool1: shipping $58:scared1::eek::sad2::confused:. I almost choked!! (I am not that far from disney, it's not like it was shipping across the country in fact I could probably shop around and get a plane ticket for close to that price:rotfl:) So anyhow just thought I would let you all know, I know there were some folks here that were leary of Ebay but I know I would prefer to take a chance with Ebay than to get robbed by Disney's shipping.

Oh, and they do currently have the LC in stock so maybe they got a new shipment.

Hmm, I might have to pop into DD tomorrow to see if they have letter carriers back in stock there too. Thanks for the heads up. :thumbsup2

As for the shipping cost: that really is crazy high! I think I might have been tempted to ask if they were planning on sending Mickey to hand deliver for that. :rotfl2:

Plus, as much as I love the DL 55 collection (and I really do), I have seen a few bags that I actually would not want due to quirky pattern placement. These bags cost a chunk of change, especially with Disney's excessive shipping fees tacked on. :sad2: What if you pay all that money only to get a bag that does nothing for you? Yikes!

I really hope the Princess pattern clearances soon! I'd love to get a bag cheap! :D

I got a purse on ebay! :woohoo:

Can someone tell me how many editions there are of the sketch purses and what is the difference, just out of curiosity?

And what is considered the perfect placement?

Kinda late to ask, but I bought the purse on impulse! I had been eyeing the DL and Wonder prints...

Thanks! :goodvibes

First of all, congrats on your purchase! You should post pictures when you get your bag. :thumbsup2

I'll try to answer your questions, but feel free to jump in and make corrections if I goof it up ladies. ;)

There are 2 versions of the white sketch print. I guess the colored sketch bags could be considered a 3rd version, although I've never really heard anyone call them that. Colored sketch seems to work fine.

The 1st edition sketch bags had separate banners for WDW & Disneyland, and they did not have the leather D&B tag, they had a D&B banner that ran through the print instead. Minnie Mouse was not on the 1st edition bags either. I think those were the main differences, but there may have been other minor change as well. Anyone?

As far as perfect placement goes... I'd say that definitely varies from person to person. One person might be looking for Tinkerbell and the castle in prime spots on their bag, while someone else might be looking for Mickey & Minnie, or the WDW/Disneyland logo, or even the Cheshire cat (I love the Cheshire cat and would have to have him on a good spot on my bag) or Dumbo, etc. etc.

That's what makes buying these bags via mail order so difficult. You definitely want one that speaks to you personally.

Speaking of which, I think the placement on that DL 55 letter carrier is very nice Catira!

Thanks cats mom! :thumbsup2

So the colored sketch are still only in the letter carrier, correct?

I think I did OK on placement then, considering I just kinda impulsively bought it. Mickey and Minnie are on front and high center and Tinkerbell and the Cheshire Cat look nice on the back. After the fact I noticed Donald's hat appears to be missing? and poor Dumbo's head is cut off! I also kinda wish the Mickey bar and balloons were a tad higher on back. Overall, not bad. I thought it was a good price and just jumped on it since it is close to my birthday.

I want that DL 55th messenger bag badly, but I can't justify the price. Believe me, I keep trying to justify it! :lmao:

The colored sketch is just available in letter carrier and wristlet for now. I believe there was a post earlier in this thread saying that someone in merchandising at WDW had hinted that other sizes might be released soon though.

Yep, it can definitely be a challenge trying to find the perfect bag, but it sounds like you got a good one!

Hmm, a sketch bag for your birthday, maybe something from the DL 55 collection for Christmas? Just a thought. ;)

Hi, I've been lurking and enjoying the dooney conversations. I wondered how those of you with the disneyland messenger have liked the strap on it. Do you think it makes it look very casual? I do love the pattern. Poohbear, did you sell yours?

I saw the Pop Princess collection at Trend-D on Friday. Didn't like it much. I will be surprised if it sells very many. The sketch pattern is so much better. I am thankful that there is a purse that I don't like!!! (And so is my husband!)

Welcome!

Hmm, I did find it more natural to carry the messenger bag cross-body than over my shoulder, and I think that probably does project a more relaxed vibe, so I can see the casual thing. Of course I don't know that the DL 55 print reads very dressy to me anyway. Personally I'd have no problem carrying a bag from the collection for most any day to day stuff; but for evening, especially for anything very formal, I'd likely go with something different anyway.

Hopefully more folks will pop back in and add their responses after the weekend though.

I think it has definitely been kind of quiet in here lately. Where is everyone? :confused3

Hi Rachel.. just wrote you back. Let me know:cutie:

Hi Catira:goodvibes! I just sent a response to your other email you mentioned to use. I am getting very sleep and can barely type, so I will look for your response in the morning

Have a good night:goodvibes

Is Trend-D in WDW? I'd like to see the princess pattern in person. I'm going to be at DL over Labor Day weekend but I don't know if they have been spotted there yet. :confused3

Not at DLR as of Saturday August 14. But DLR seems to always be at least a few weeks behind WDW when it comes to getting the new styles. If they have hit WDW, then I would check out Vault 28 when you are at DLR.

if anyone is at WDW any time soon, id love to see some photos of the bags in stores! i sold my sketch pink letter carrier and am kind of regretting it. but i would like to pick my next one out on my sept. trip ... wondering what the selection is like out there! :wizard:

So I stayed up watching Dooney on QVC last night and thought about all the Disney options they could be doing with the bags they had:rotfl:.

They had some letter carriers and I dreamt all night about getting a Disney one and using it for the plane. I usually have a backpack for the plane and the parks so I had already pretty much decided NOT to bring one of my Disney Dooneys except for the wristlets which I use for wallets and camera cases. This way I can hopefully buy something new. But it looked like a convenient bag to wear and have my wallet, phone, ID ipod accessible without getting in my way...

So for all you girls who have the letter carriers (DL or colored sketch) how do you like them? And also, does anyone have a pic of (the colored sketch) one with good mickey & castle placement? My dad is going in Oct. and I'm thinking of having him pick one up, but I seriously need a visual to help him out:lmao:.

Thanks!
