...when you call MS to make a reservation for only four days because you think you only have a certain amount of points left and you end up having enough for a five day stay! Hey I won't argue with them.

Lucky you!! when I call, MS always tells me I have less points than I thought I had!

I think most of us are so fanatical about our DVC points that we usually have a better idea than MS does of what we can get! :p

But pleasant surprises are always nice...and I hope you enjoy your trip!:)

I hate it because it means they've screwed up something else by using the wrong contract or making something not exactly as requested.

Unfortunately I have never been that lucky. :(
But congrats to you! Enjoy!

Well, when dh booked our cruise and BWV they told him we had 86 more points than he thought we had - have confirmations for vacation in hand, but dh is still a bit nervous. Hope it's not a mistake. It's a bit unnerving really. We've looked over our point usage and just don't see where they came from...

We just booked HH for 12/28 to 1/3. We are paying cash for the last night (a Friday) I had calculated 85pt. but MS told me it would be only 79 pts. I had forgotten that on 1/1 the seasons changed. So we now have 6 more points than I thought we would! So I know how you feel.

MS can and does screw up real bad. Real, real bad.......

Its been a while, I will tell it again for the newer folks.

Five years ago, I had a reservation for twelve night in an OKW GV. I canceled it ten months out and remade it for a couple months later. Ten months out, I had to cancel it again, as I was making this vacation again, now day by day since it was the First two weeks of December, I got to the sixth or seventh day and they asked me if I wanted to borrow points.....HUH? The vacation that I canceled was less points than this vacation, I have plenty of points.

After days of calling and one day with ten phone calls, many hours and six or more faxes back and fourth of the "Point usage chart", each time me showing them where they were wrong and each time them rebutting with why I am wrong, it ended with them stating that they wrongly alocated me extra points and I had 270 points less than I thought I had.

I didn't agree, I never did.....tough.

I took a one week vacation that year, felt real ripped off, but forgot about it.

The next year I was calling for a reservation, having completely forgotten about that whole incident, I asked exactly what my point status was. I was expecting all current points to be gone, getting a new allotment minus three or four borrowed points in September. They told me that I had 270 current points that needed to be banked right away.

That number, 270, that was the number of points in dispute. There computer cought up with them and I had my points back.

MS is not good at keeping track of points, the 'point usage' sheets are put together horribly, so horribly that they can't even read them.

I think Caskbill should try and sell his program to MS.

But, No, as a matter of fact, I didn't love it, I really feel awful that MS can't even keep track of our points and I feel even worse that they are so blinded by their computer systems that they will argue til they are blue in the face about them being right when I faxed them a sheet of every points that I ever used and every point I was ever allocated and the difference being 270 points, yet those stupid morons just kept up the mantra, you are wrong.
