I am one of those women who don't wear shorts. I grew up that way though.
What do you recommend to wear? I have tons of capris and jeans, along with cute short sleeved tees. I don't want to look sloppy, its our honeymoon.
Anyone else out there who doesn't wear shorts because.....modest, hate your legs, religious reasons, etc.....?

ME!! I never wear shorts!!!!!!!! I wear capri jeans everytime! I hate my legs!

me too - I have capri khakis, capri jeans, capri madras plaid, and even some sundresses for the upcoming trip! I couldn't let Prince Charming see my big white legs! :lovestruc

THANK GOODNESS!!!! I have one pair that I sleep in!!! And that is with a huge shirt of my FDH, it comes down past the knees :goodvibes

Do you ever get hot? I am the type who wears socks and sweatshirts in the summer. I can handle the heat, its the humidity that gets me.

:earsboy: :earsboy: Going in October -- bought all capris and I plan on wearing sneakers and socks. I originally bought capri jeans but then decided against them and bought loose fitting cotton ones. This way nothing is sticking too me. I can't do shorts cause I hate that feeling of sitting on rides and your legs touching the seat -- especially when it's vinyl seats. BLCH! LOL. Besides, air conditioning in ques kills me!!

I have brought two pair of capri's (my first) (which I may or may not wear), but I mainly wear nothing but jeans. We're going in October and the heat doesn't bother me that time of year. Guess I'm just used to Arkansas humidity and I'm extremely cold natured anyway. But you know, come to think of it, I don't wear shorts in the summertime either. They are just not comfortable to me. I'm so 80's in so many ways still...jeans, t-shirt, tennis shoes...the culmination of my wardrobe!

It's not that I don't care what I look like, because I do care. But... chances are you are never going to see anyone there again so dress in what you want, if your legs look like a big white chicken (or cow) so be it. You won't be alone. :earsgirl:

I wear capri's or knee or below length skirts. Both are very comfortable, yet still cover the 'flubbies' of my aging skin.

I wear capris or actually I like denim skirts better than shorts...I am rethinking taking denim capris, too hot and too sticky. May have to go with cotton, don't know just yet. Did buy a Tink shirt at Walmart tonight for my trip...

I live in austin TX and when you live in the heat, everyone wears shorts, big legs, skinny legs, short legs , long legs. I know the heat in orlando is like in Texas ,so if I went during warm weather you wouldn't catch me in anything BUT shorts. And I am an old lady - but my prince charming is old, too!!!

I am dreading packing for my October trip for just this reason...I HAVE NO CLOTHES!!!!!! I just had a baby 3 months ago and I am NOT losing weight as quick as I wanted to! I wear sweats and tee shirts all the time and I feel so sloppy. I want to feel more comfortable and dress a little nicer than that when I go to WDW. Otherwise, I look like I am going to bed!!!

Now that all of the summer stuff is getting cleared out of the stores, I better go and find some capris and tee shirts QUICKLY before they are all gone!!!!! Then what will I do????????

Hopefully by next summer I will be at or close to my original size...I was looking at all of my old clothes, size 8 and wondering when I will EVER get into those again!!!!!!! :guilty:

Also try second hand stores. They usually only take stuff that's been kept nice and is still usually fashionable. And it's cheap.
I once bought a pair of Tommy shorts for only $12 and they were like new.

btw: I pretty much only wear shorts unless I know I'm going to be cold. :)

I could never wear shorts!! I hate my legs, plus, u don't like the look of shorts anyway lol, i'm a jeans gurl lol

Hi, In Luv With Disney,

I would recommend going to the clothing catalogs like LL Bean and Lands End. You can find them on the net and ask for a catalog or just order right there. They are having great sales on their summer items right now and I have found in the past you can always find out of season clothes there! And you don't have to spend hours trolling through the second hand stores just to find that the thing you like doesn't fit. I just hate that. It always makes me depressed. the stuff is "second hand" to start with, trying on stuff that is too small is awful, and it takes hours. With the catalogs you can measure yourself, find neat capris and shorts and tees - choose your colors and know you have the right size. Plus if it doesn't fit they always have a great return policy. Good luck and take it easy on yourself. Nothing is more beautiful than a glowing Mom with a small baby!

We just got back from the HOTTEST place on earth and my MIL wore jeans, linen overalls and capris everyday and she seemed perfectly comfortable! :sunny:

Growing up my step-mom NEVER wore shorts around the town we lived in. However, she did have a few pairs she would wear while on vacation. I guess she figured she wouldn't see anyone she knew.

But I think you'll be OK in some cotton capris.

I just got back 2 days ago and I wore capris the whole time. The weather was fine and I didn't bake too badly. I hate shorts and never wear them even in 100 degree heat. I hate the feeling of direct sunlight on my legs. it is so uncomfortable!

Well, the second hand stores I go to are very organized. They don't even take stuff that doesn't have tags inside. The stores also arrange everything on hangers and on racks by type of pants. Jeans all together in in general size order, capris all together in general size order, etc. Doesn't make things hard to find at all. The stores around me also won't take anything that's way out of style.

I just suggested it because it's a cheaper way to go when buying clothes.
I also shop end of season sales at the malls.
Personally, when I do buy pants and jeans, I buy the long capris cause I'm very short. The fit like regular length pants on me. :)

We are going for the first half of October. I hear its still warm there, and we have packed basically shorts and short sleeved shirts.

I want to look nice, all the shorts are new, and have coordinating tops. I have heavy legs, have had em all my life. But this is vacation, not a fashion show. I don't really care what other people think about my legs, and there is no prince charming in my life. But if there is to be in the near future, he better think I am awesome just that way I am! :rotfl:

Those are just my thoughts. :wizard:

Go to Target! Quick! :) They have great capris on clearance right now for like $8.

I don't wear shorts at all so I got a bunch of capris to wear - some are nicer and some are athletic style with stripes down the side. They are all super comfy and look good with my Merrill sandals that feel like tennies but show off my pedicure! ::MinnieMo
