Don't touch that! I need a picture first! TR - **NEW 04/17 PTR IS UP

Happy New Year!

I love the picture of y'all in front on the castle with the thumbs up! :thumbsup2

great update! You gotta love an empty MK! We thought CP was okay for dinner in Oct. It was my first time eating there and it was good but it didn't blow me away. I'd eat at Chef Mickey's over CP I think..not that their food isn't mind blowing either but I still thought it was better IMO!

Oh and btw: the stupid server disappears at buffet restaurants dilemma: one tip I once got was: ask for the bill immediately when you sit down - especially in the mornings just tell them that you want to be able to leave quickly when the park opens.

Thanks for that tip!

In the last few hours at work, I've caught up completely here.

I really wish I could bring my boys during Halloween. They would absolutely go crazy...er.

I know the last update was just a day ago...but I'm waiting anxiously now.

Hey Jen!

I LOVE your empty-park pictures! I am definitely going to have to do this on the next trip...

Chef Mickey's is good but not my favourite. Maybe it's because we're always given a table waaaaaaay at the back where you have to go up some stairs. It takes forever for the characters to get there. I always enjoy Tigger's antics and the fact that CP breakfast gets you into MK early :thumbsup2

Thanks for that tip!

She's got lots of them.

:welcome: DisneyGuy! So I see you're another one who is totally committed to their work  You should definitely go at Halloween or even Christmas. Either time WDW is just decked out in amazing decorations. Another update will come soon, promise :cutie:

Hey Jen!

Yes you most definitely will! Granted you might be a bit groggy but once you see that castle, it's like a shot of caffeine and gets your adrenaline pumping!

Wow.....I wonder if one day, I'll be able to get myself to a before-park opening breakfast too.....The emptiness of the park is VERY appealing though.

Awesome that you had such great interactions with Chip and Dale!

It was after park opening and there wasn't a mob at Space Mountain? What kind of reality is THAT???

It's definitely worth the $25-$30 spent on breakfast :rotfl: You just need to get yourself out of bed in time...that's all.

Awesome that you had such great interactions with Chip and Dale!

I was definitely on :cloud9:

It was after park opening and there wasn't a mob at Space Mountain? What kind of reality is THAT???

I know right?! It was crazy! I was almost disappointed

We crossed into Adventureland to start riding some rides. I love the area music throughout the park. So much in fact that I splurged and bought a 2-disc CD packed with all the theme music throughout the parks. I'll get to that purchase later on....

Our first ride was POTC

v81xyb.jpg

The first round we were seated right in the very back. Normally I'm not picky but the place was empty and there was nobody else waiting. Bubba suggested we'd ride it again to get a better row next time. This made the first ride a bit more tolerable. We got off and back in line..... only to be given the back row again. Seriously, buddy? There's NOBODY waiting. So Bubba spoke up and said the reason why we were riding again was to get closer to the front in the boat. The CM didn't seem to care but since we spoke up, he pointed to another row closer to the front. Jeez, was that so hard??

POTC conquered, we headed over to Frontierland. The park was still really empty for being open nearly an hour already. Nobody as far as the eye could see, except for this guy.

Oh, and maybe that family in the far background. This was great! No crowds, no hoards of people. I just knew MNSSHP that night was going to be great. Or so I thought....

We went on BTMR first to let my breakfast digest a bit more before facing the big drop on Splash Mountain.

i1mmaw.jpg

I attempted to take some ride photos while in motion. You'd think after almost losing my camera the night before I would keep my camera safely stowed away. Ha! I even scare myself sometimes.

Here are some crazy photos from the wildest ride in the wilderness.

Is it just me, or does anybody else feel like you're going to slide right out of the seat on this ride?

And another question. Does anyone find it REALLY LOUD when you're going up the hill? We always have to plug our ears.

My breakfast had settled (and shaken) down deeper in the depths of my tummy. Splash Mountain here we come!

i2koix.jpg

I had never noticed these guys before. I guess we've always been in too much of a hurry to get on the ride. But that's what this trip was all about. Slowing down and taking in our surroundings.

There was absolutely no wait and we were assigned our log in no time.

It was a wonderful, bright morning as we rounded the bend.

2qn191u.jpg

I look like an albino! I hate my pasty white skin....

The drop was as exhilirating as usual.

2ci9ydz.jpg

I want to find where that camera is. We always look in the wrong direction! For those people who put their hands up down this hill, I have NO IDEA how they do that. I tried doing that once and felt like I was going to fly right out of my seat!!! I need to get some ankle weights or something.

We finished up in Frontierland and decided it was time to use our Space Mountain fastpasses. We took it at a slow pace (for once) for Bubba's sake and headed towards Tomorrowland while taking in our surroundings.

Crowd check

Looks like everyone decided to sleep in that morning.

Here's some of the sights on our way over.

2sb4roz.jpg

We stopped momentarily to watch the Dream Along with Mickey show.

1zlzlh5.jpg

That didn't last too long. It's just a little too childish for us. As much as I love to chant "Dreams come true. Dreams come true." Plus Bubba was about to lose her mind if I had wanted to stay much longer. I wanted to watch it since I had never seen the show but at the same time, I could only take so much. So off we went on our merry way to Tomorrowland.

2qkqvyw.jpg

And onto Space Mountain!

25fszdu.jpg

Before you make any judgement, Bubba says she didn't mean to look so... um... volumptious (to put it as politely as possible). Her explanation is that the coaster lurched forward while she was trying to strike a pose. I'm not even sure what she was going for but the result was pretty hilarious!

Chip and Dale were no where to be seen when we got off the ride so we decided to go meet some more characters up in Toontown. On our way, we walked by the Speedway. Not too long ago, I had been watching old family home videos of when my family went to WDW, back when I was still young enough to let my parents put my hair in pigtails. There's one part where my Dad is trying to drive the car while holding the camera to record the moment. Of course I'm the passenger with my crazy father who clearly can't multi-task. Anyways, for whatever reason, this made me want to ride the Speedway again. Bubba wasn't thrilled but she did it being the nice sister that she is.

The line wasn't very long either. On any other day, I would bypass it because the wait is just too long for what it's worth. But with less than 10 min to wait, I was game. Here I am very excited to relive my childhood (without my crazy father of course)

35i4qs8.jpg

Now you might think I don't look very excited in that picture. But that all changed once I got behind the wheel.

2nhkc8z.jpg

And here we go around the turn!

301o954.jpg

It was a great 5 minutes worth of fun.

Then we saw the one and only....

Mickey and Minnie!

2zf7csx.jpg

The wait was non-existent. We were on a role that morning!

We decided to take the train back to Main Street to get some shopping done. Poor Bubba and her feet. At least they never got any worse to the point she needed a wheelchair like my mom did in April.

It wasn't long until our ride was pulling into the station.

300unfs.jpg

Once we got to Main Street, I started to feel a bit peckish so I filled the empty pit in my stomach with none other than a Mickey's Premium Bar.

28stvt5.jpg

MMMMmmmmmm my favourite! Everything tastes better Mickey shaped. ::yes::

....continued in next post.....

Bubba and I both ended up buying a couple things. My best find of the trip had to be the Four Parks One World CD.

It makes me smile every time I listen to it. I can escape the real world every day while I drive to work. It's great!

It was now getting close to 1pm, which is the time Bubba had made plans to have lunch with her manager from Le Cellier that night we ate there. I was still invited of course. I wouldn't let Bubba ditch me - especially when she was deviating from my very well thought out itinerary!!!

On our way out we came across the end of the parade

I took one last long look at Main Street with this sinking feeling.

It was like something was telling me I shouldn't be leaving. Little did I know how much I would regret leaving MK that day…..

Coming up…..

Lunch at….. I'll keep you guessing on this one ;)
MNSSHP
Hurry up and Wait!

OH noooo! What happened???? I wanna knooooooooow.

I hear so much about the 4 parks 1 world cd. How much is it?

Wow....you were leaving in the afternoon and it was STILL that empty. I think you stepped into....*in Rod Sterling's voice* The Twilight Zone. *cue TZ theme music*

I'm glad you were able to get a seat further up front.

:rotfl2:

I'm kind of busty myself, and sometimes you just can't help look volumptious.

We went on BTMR first to let my breakfast digest a bit more before facing the big drop on Splash Mountain.

I never thought I'd hear someone say they went on BTMRR to digest!

I look like an albino! I hate my pasty white skin....

I know how you feel...looking at our first Photopass picture we had taken at MK, I said "Geez, I resemble a Stephenie Meyer vampire: I'm almost paper white, and I have so much sunblock on that I sparkle!" :sad2:

I want to find where that camera is. We always look in the wrong direction! For those people who put their hands up down this hill, I have NO IDEA how they do that. I tried doing that once and felt like I was going to fly right out of my seat!!! I need to get some ankle weights or something.

I feel exactly the same on rides with drops! No way are my hands going up in the air! :scared1:

Anyways, for whatever reason, this made me want to ride the Speedway again. Bubba wasn't thrilled but she did it being the nice sister that she is.

When I read this all I could think of was a reader story in the Unofficial Guide that said something like "Please tell your readers that this ride is a guided car on a track. I saw many adults waiting in line and couldn't figure out why, unless they were simply trying to ride everything in the park." :rotfl:

We decided to take the train back to Main Street to get some shopping done. Poor Bubba and her feet. At least they never got any worse to the point she needed a wheelchair like my mom did in April.

Glad to hear my mom isn't the only one who needed a wheelchair on a mother/daughter trip! ;)

Bubba and I both ended up buying a couple things. My best find of the trip had to be the Four Parks One World CD.

I saw this on disneystore.com, and I decided not to buy it. Perhaps I will ask for it for my birthday.

It was like something was telling me I shouldn't be leaving. Little did I know how much I would regret leaving MK that day…..

Coming up…..
MNSSHP

I'm wary to hear what the crowds were like for MNSSHP, but excited to hear about the party itself. I'm worried that because we will be going over a holiday weekend that both Epcot and MNSSHP will be horribly crowded...

OH NOT a cliff hanger!

But before you were sorry, you did get a great morning of fun in. Lots of ride, and some hilarious pictures. WHAT is with that pose of Bubba's??!! :rotfl:

No line for mickey and minnie?? Great park mojo there! but I have a bad feeling about that said mojo....

For Bubba's pose on Space Mountain:

:lmao::rotfl2::rotfl::lmao::rotfl2:

Wow, I can't believe how empty the park is. But now you have me worried with your last sentence...

OH noooo! What happened???? I wanna knooooooooow.

You'll find out soon enough :teeth:

I hear so much about the 4 parks 1 world cd. How much is it?

It costs $24.95 before tax. So worth it though. Just look at all those songs you get!

Wow....you were leaving in the afternoon and it was STILL that empty. I think you stepped into....*in Rod Sterling's voice* The Twilight Zone. *cue TZ theme music*

:rotfl: It certainly was odd.

:rotfl2:

I'm kind of busty myself, and sometimes you just can't help look volumptious.

It must be hard, especially in the hot summer when there's only so much you can take off.

I never thought I'd hear someone say they went on BTMRR to digest!

I didn't mention it in my update but it was the only ride Bubba wanted to do that I knew I could handle. Otherwise I would've asked her to ride Haunted Mansion or something! But we wanted to save that ride for MNSSHP.

I know how you feel...looking at our first Photopass picture we had taken at MK, I said "Geez, I resemble a Stephenie Meyer vampire: I'm almost paper white, and I have so much sunblock on that I sparkle!"

:lmao: Yup, I know that feeling. It's that dead give away of being a northerner.

When I read this all I could think of was a reader story in the Unofficial Guide that said something like "Please tell your readers that this ride is a guided car on a track. I saw many adults waiting in line and couldn't figure out why, unless they were simply trying to ride everything in the park."

I love those reader stories. Some of them are hilarious just how mad people get. Too funny. But even cars on a guided track can be fun!

Glad to hear my mom isn't the only one who needed a wheelchair on a mother/daughter trip! ;)

I swear I wear out everyone who comes with me to Disney. That time I just went to far  Did your mom have feet trouble too?

I'm wary to hear what the crowds were like for MNSSHP, but excited to hear about the party itself. I'm worried that because we will be going over a holiday weekend that both Epcot and MNSSHP will be horribly crowded..

It depends how close to Halloween you are. If it's the week before or the week leading up to it, the crowds will be pretty intense during MNSSHP.

OH NOT a cliff hanger!

Just for you Liesa ;)

But before you were sorry, you did get a great morning of fun in. Lots of ride, and some hilarious pictures. WHAT is with that pose of Bubba's??!! :rotfl:

We definitely had a very successful morning. There's lots more silly pictures where that came from!

No line for mickey and minnie?? Great park mojo there! but I have a bad feeling about that said mojo....

Oh just you wait..... just you wait....

For Bubba's pose on Space Mountain:

:lmao::rotfl2::rotfl::lmao::rotfl2:

Wow, I can't believe how empty the park is. But now you have me worried with your last sentence...

Bubba will never live that one down. And you should be worried.... it wasn't all bright and sunshine when we went back that night....

I swear I wear out everyone who comes with me to Disney. That time I just went to far  Did your mom have feet trouble too?

It depends how close to Halloween you are. If it's the week before or the week leading up to it, the crowds will be pretty intense during MNSSHP.

Yeah, during our first Epcot day my mom got a terrible blister, so we ended up getting a wheelchair from International Gateway for the rest of the day. And we're going over Columbus Day weekend, so not too close to Halloween...guess we'll just hope for the best! :goodvibes

I attempted to take some ride photos while in motion. You'd think after almost losing my camera the night before I would keep my camera safely stowed away. Ha! I even scare myself sometimes.

Here are some crazy photos from the wildest ride in the wilderness.

Nice possum pic!

Thank goodness Bubba worked in a "thumbs up" pic. C'mon Jen, you can take a picture, give us a thumbs up, and ride BTMRR at the same time. It's not that hard to stay on the ride. Next, you'll be asking for ankle weights.

It was a wonderful, bright morning as we rounded the bend.

2qn191u.jpg

I look like an albino! I hate my pasty white skin....

Ha! :rotfl2: Your indian name should be "Squinto".

I want to find where that camera is. We always look in the wrong direction! For those people who put their hands up down this hill, I have NO IDEA how they do that. I tried doing that once and felt like I was going to fly right out of my seat!!! I need to get some ankle weights or something.

See! What'd I say?!

And onto Space Mountain!

I don't even know what to say. Other than "Hilarious!".

You don't see very many strange SM pictures because the picture is taken before the ride really starts.

Here I am very excited to relive my childhood (without my crazy father of course)

35i4qs8.jpg

I wonder how long it will be before my kids are saying this.

Once we got to Main Street, I started to feel a bit peckish so I filled the empty pit in my stomach with none other than a Mickey's Premium Bar.

It seems like just a moment ago you were describing how you had to let your breakfast settle. :confused3 Boy, you're fickle.

I took one last long look at Main Street with this sinking feeling.

Well, it was built on a swamp you know. Maybe move a little to the left.

It was like something was telling me I shouldn't be leaving. Little did I know how much I would regret leaving MK that day…..

Little Miss Cliffhanger! ;)

The crowd levels were great! That's why I like going in the Fall!
I love your SM picture, your pictures always crack me up!
