Don't touch that! I need a picture first! TR - **NEW 04/17 PTR IS UP

Yeah, during our first Epcot day my mom got a terrible blister, so we ended up getting a wheelchair from International Gateway for the rest of the day. And we're going over Columbus Day weekend, so not too close to Halloween...guess we'll just hope for the best! :goodvibes

Those blisters are so detrimental when you're at WDW! I hope you have a great time!

Nice possum pic!

I was hoping you'd notice ;) I shocked myself that I was able to get it.

Thank goodness Bubba worked in a "thumbs up" pic. C'mon Jen, you can take a picture, give us a thumbs up, and ride BTMRR at the same time. It's not that hard to stay on the ride. Next, you'll be asking for ankle weights.

Oh gee thanks Glenn! :rotfl: And you read my mind with the ankle weights.

Ha! :rotfl2: Your indian name should be "Squinto".

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: Perfect! "Hello, I am Squinto. Welcome to my humble home. So bright you can't see a thing!"

See! What'd I say?!

You read my mind Glenn!

I don't even know what to say. Other than "Hilarious!".

 Walking on thin ground so good choice.

You don't see very many strange SM pictures because the picture is taken before the ride really starts.

Yeah, you'd think they would have it when you're going down one of the drops or something? Maybe it'd be too blurry being in the pitch black and all?

I wonder how long it will be before my kids are saying this.

Give it another 10 years.

It seems like just a moment ago you were describing how you had to let your breakfast settle. :confused3 Boy, you're fickle.

Tell me about it! And that's only the beginning!

Well, it was built on a swamp you know. Maybe move a little to the left.

Hmmm perhaps I'll have to keep my eye out for gators too.

Little Miss Cliffhanger! ;)

I gotta keep you coming back for more.

The crowd levels were great! That's why I like going in the Fall!
I love your SM picture, your pictures always crack me up!
Can't wait to hear about the rest of the day!

I'm glad the pictures make you laugh. That's what I love to do! The crowd levels were good...for the most part. Hey, I need to go and catch up on your TR. Yikes, I'm probably way behind :headache:

Page 3??? tsk, tsk, tsk...;)

Either I'm really not feeling well (I called in sick with a stomach ache and well, it's my birthday so there) or I truly am confused on this one :confused3

It took us about an hour to get changed for our lunch get together with Bubba's manager from Le Cellier. I was still a little upset that we had to deviate from my itinerary but I knew Bubba really missed her manager. We had planned to meet up at 2pm and we got to where we were going in no time at all. Anyone guessed where we ended up yet???

I'll give you a clue....

Okay now you must know!

vhtgr8.jpg

That's right, we all agreed on Sanaa. Plus it's usually easy to get a walk-up here. Being back at Kidani brought back memories of when we stayed here in February last year. I can't believe it's already been a year. How time flies! Glenn, not to point you out, but I am severely jealous that you have DVC here! It's just a gorgeous resort and it's never crowded. At least, not in my experience.

When we arrived, Bubba's manager was nowhere to be found and she wasn't answering her phone. There was a while where I thought she wasn't going to show. That would've made my blood boil! Even more so when I found out what I missed at MK that day.

While we were still waiting, I went off to the washroom. While I was in there, Bubba's manager (who'll be known as Minnie) finally showed up... only 10 minutes late. Time is precious in WDW!!!

We were seated right away (big surprise) at a table right beside the window. Apparently it was lunch time for the animals as well because we saw a CM bringing out the grub.

xmpm3s.jpg

This made for quite the show during our lunch. We got a close look at the giraffe, zebra and even a vulture who came right up to the window. Somehow it sneaked through electrified fences.

2rgkup1.jpg

I feel for this guy. I mean, I can't touch my toes so to have to get my head all the way to touch the ground with such a long neck would be quite the chore.

The last time I ate here, we had a very pushy server who was just trying to upsell us on everything. This time was much different. It probably helped that we had Minnie with us. She tells it like it is and knows what she wants so the server never had a chance to try and sell us something we didn't want.

Food was good although what I ordered was a disappointment. To start, we got the bread service but have no idea what combination we got. All I know is the Naan bread was in there somewhere. For main course, I tried the Vegetarian Sampler: Five Grain Pilaf with stewed lentils and spicy cauliflower. I thought it sounded like a good combination. That day I was craving vegetables so this sounded like it'd satisfy my craving. I've had the Tandoori shrimp (which was delicious!) but was just way too much food.

Well... this is what came out

2i6jmdz.jpg

Oh by the way, that beaver? He's a mascot for Bubba's huge road trip she took last spring. I'd like to be able to explain it to you but you'd have to ask Bubba. Anyways, back to the food. The lentils were SPICY. The cauliflower was SPICY. The rice was okay. I was not happy with my food at all. It just wasn't what I was expecting. I ate most of the cauliflower and rice but hardly touched the lentils. I didn't expect them to be so spicy. The cauliflower said in the description it was spicy but nowhere did it mention the lentils were spicy. Next time I won't go healthy and just stick with the Tandoori shrimp or get the curry.

Speaking of curry, that's what Minnie ordered. She had the Shrimp with green curry sauce. It looked much more appetizing than the cup of mud I had in front of me. Minnie let me try some and it was delicious! The lentils were actually more spicy than the curry. Sadly I didn't take any pictures of her food. I tried not to take too many pictures with Minnie around. I didn't want her to think I'm one of those crazy people who take pictures of their food....which I am...and proud of it...but whatever. I tried to cut it down as much as I could so Minnie wouldn't think I'm that crazy.

Bubba ordered the Tandoori Shrimp

2lu44jn.jpg

She said this was full of yummy goodness just like when she had it last time.

I was really looking forward to dessert since I hardly touched my main entree. A stomach full of rice and cauliflower isn't all that satisfying. We ended up sharing the dessert sampler.

v49blu.jpg

From left to right we have some sort of chocolate cake, chai cream, and strawberry cheesecake. My favorite was the Chai cream. I ate most of this as everyone else was stuffed. Very yummy dessert.

By the time we had finished up lunch, I was FREEZING from the air conditioning so I stepped outside to warm up. Bubba paid for my meal since I hadn't budgeted for it. Unless it's on the itinerary, I don't budget for it! The time was around 3:30pm and I had wanted to be at MK for 4pm. That wasn't going to happen. Bubba and Minnie eventually came outside to join me. There was a CM who offered to take a picture of us in the gleaming sun. It was another squinty photo. Bubba finally picked up on the fact that I was antsy and not happy we hadn't even started getting ready for MNSSHP. We said our goodbyes and zoomed back to our resort to get ready for the party.

And what did I miss that day at MK for this lunch at Sanaa?

THIS!

Me? A litte BITTER!

Coming up.....

"Bubba, you're supposed to be scary. Not attract all the children!"
Hurry up and Wait
Where did all these people come from?!

sweet on the fly over,:thumbsup2 sorry you missed it.:sad1:

how did you know about it after the fact?

Well, Marv owns DVC at AKL too and he's still jealous of me anyway.

I think that giraffe is gonna charge.

You're not gonna share???

She probably picked up on your subtle body language.

Me? A litte BITTER!

Aaah, you've seen one flyover you've seen 'em all. Don't sweat it.

We've seen one fly over at MK beforek and my kids STILL talk about it- it was so flippin' cool!!!! So I can totally relate to how disappointed you must have been! DRAT- all for lentils.

Anyway, I do oh, so love Sanaa! The animals made it so incredibly unique as far as dining experiences go. Loved it!

Oh Jen so sorry your meal was Yuk!!!! I do want to try Sanaa but not with the family!!!They would not like it at all !!Plain meat and potatoes group they are !!!

Wow! You had quite the view at lunch. Those giraffe are magnificent creatures, aren't they? I'm glad that teh service was good, even though the meal was disappointing.

sweet on the fly over,:thumbsup2 sorry you missed it.:sad1:

how did you know about it after the fact?

When I was looking at my Photopass pictures, I saw a bonus picture (you know those ones they include as a bonus of things around the park?) and it was of these jets flying over the castle. I knew I didn't remember seeing that! So I looked it up on one of the many Disney websites I follow and saw it was for some sort of Navy/Marines/Army salute. They mentioned the date and time it happened. All I did was put two and two together and realized I was sitting in Sanaa!

I'm glad you went to Sanaa. Good choice!

I really would like to go back again. That one bad experience hasn't deterred me from eating there. I will most definitely be ordering the curry next time.

Well, Marv owns DVC at AKL too and he's still jealous of me anyway.

Is he in Kidani or Jambo?

This was TOTALLY me when we were waiting

I think that giraffe is gonna charge.

Look out! It only moves at .00000002 miles an hour!

Hmmm, that lentil mush is not what I'd have in mind either.
a26.gif

It honestly looked like baby food. Similar consistency too.

Those people are so weird!
smiliehunchback.gif

People these days :sad2:

You're not gonna share???

Sadly, no. I didn't want to post the picture without getting Minnie's approval. I didn't ask either because I wouldnt want to risk Bubba getting into trouble. Especially when she's applied to go back to work there. People have gotten fired from working at Disney from these boards! I know one picture of Bubba and Minnie isn't going to get her fired but still. I didn't get permission so I'm not going to share...not this time anyway :rolleyes1

She probably picked up on your subtle body language.
anim_banghead.gif

:rotfl2: SO TRUE! I don't hide my feelings well.

Aaah, you've seen one flyover you've seen 'em all. Don't sweat it.

Thanks Glenn. That actually does put it in perspective. (That's honestly sincere)

We've seen one fly over at MK beforek and my kids STILL talk about it- it was so flippin' cool!!!! So I can totally relate to how disappointed you must have been! DRAT- all for lentils.

Oh sure, rub it in! STUPID LENTILS *shakes the fist*

Anyway, I do oh, so love Sanaa! The animals made it so incredibly unique as far as dining experiences go. Loved it!

It was very entertaining this time! Especially when the vulture came right up to the window and was staring at everyone's food. That guy definitely wanted to get in on the grub.

Oh Jen so sorry your meal was Yuk!!!! I do want to try Sanaa but not with the family!!!They would not like it at all !!Plain meat and potatoes group they are !!!

 That's like my stepdad. As long as meat and potatoes are on the menu, he's happy.

Wow! You had quite the view at lunch. Those giraffe are magnificent creatures, aren't they? I'm glad that teh service was good, even though the meal was disappointing.

I could sit and watch them all day. Sigh... if only I could afford AKL more often and actually allot time to sit and stare at them for a full day. Not gonna happen in Disney!

Amazing view! Sanaa looks really neat, too bad I am such a picky eater.

There are some restaurants I won't eat at either. I'm sure I'm missing out but oh well. I couldn't just sit there and drink water and eat bread all night just for the view.... in my opinion anyways...

Ugh, I missed 2 updates?? And I thought I was following along so well! I just bought that 4 Parks 1 World CD, it was a Christmas present for myself! Isn't it fabulous! I love it!

Ok, that poor Giraffe has to squat for his food?? Poor thing! Don't they usually eat leaves off trees or something? Why would you put it on the ground?

Oooh, Sanaa looks incredible! I swear, I'm going to join DVC just to stay at Kidani Village and eat there all the time. That dessert trio looked delish, especially the chai cream thingy!

I'm sorry you missed that fly by at MK! How disappointing. I completely understand your feelings of angst regarding missing time at Disney. I used to be sooooo commando about touring, so much so that I think on trip DH stopped talking to me on one trip...:rolleyes1 I can't imagine why!

Looks like you guys were having a blast together! Oh and love your sister's SM pic!:lmao: Does she know you posted that? It's a really funny pic, I'd keep it forever if I were you!:goodvibes

No worries! It's hard enough to keep updating my own TR than keep up with everyone else's! So I totally understand. That CD is the best thing of life... well maybe not life but at least the best thing to drive to in my car.

Ok, that poor Giraffe has to squat for his food?? Poor thing! Don't they usually eat leaves off trees or something? Why would you put it on the ground?

You're absolutely right now that you say that. I'm not really sure why they do that. You'd think they'd put the food on a platform or something. Talk about a head rush!

Oooh, Sanaa looks incredible! I swear, I'm going to join DVC just to stay at Kidani Village and eat there all the time. That dessert trio looked delish, especially the chai cream thingy!

Agreed!

 I'm sure we've all had our moments. I swear, everyone who comes with me to Disney goes home either tired or sick! Maybe I should warn my friend who's coming with me for the first time in July :rolleyes1

Looks like you guys were having a blast together! Oh and love your sister's SM pic!:lmao: Does she know you posted that? It's a really funny pic, I'd keep it forever if I were you!:goodvibes

Bubba has no idea I posted that.... but I'm sure she doesn't mind. :rolleyes1 She isn't easily embarrassed so it's all good. It's one of those pictures to bring out at her wedding.

I'm glad you went to Sanaa. Good choice!

Well, Marv owns DVC at AKL too and he's still jealous of me anyway.
You know you're my hero Glenn!!! I still treasure the day I was walking through the lobby of Kidani and heard you sweetly calling my name..... ;)

Some great updates Jen! Unfortunately while I was catching up, all of the pictures weren't coming up so I missed some really great shots it sounds like! Love the Bubba pose on SM, and she has some really well placed "thumbs up" in some of the pictures!!! :rolleyes1 :rotfl2: I guess that comes with much practice!

I definitely need to get a picture with Chip and Dale in space suits some day! They are probably my favorites too.

Our DVC home is also Kidani! And FYI, make sure you keep up with my TR when I start covering the actually Disney portion of the trip (well, feel free to keep up the rest of the time too!). I took a lot of pictures to honor some of my Disney friends, so you never know.....there might just be a Canadian thumbs up salute at some point in the trip! :rolleyes1

Hi Jen I can't wait till tomorrow !!!!! It was soooo cold here today I didn't get out to the mall !!!But I will be at the Casino at 10 a.m !!!!!:banana:

Oh man, I know exactly what you mean about being irritated when you have to deviate from your perfectly laid out plans.

I'm sorry about your being disappointed in Sanaa. When I ate there before, I found that I was a little disappointed and that what I had ordered was a bit too spicy for me.

Love the beaver. Just sayin'. ;)

Is he in Kidani or Jambo?

The DVC ownership is "Animal Kingdom Villas", so you can reserve either. I prefer Kidani, but may do Jambo again sometime.

Sadly, no. I didn't want to post the picture without getting Minnie's approval. I didn't ask either because I wouldnt want to risk Bubba getting into trouble. Okay, that makes sense. I thought you just weren't posting it because you were squinty again.

good update even though it wasn't what you were expecting! Did the manager at least use her dining discount for you guys??? It's only 20% off plus $18 grat but it's something!!

I know how it is having to change a schedule that you take months to plan!!!
..aka..food poisoning..epic fail to the schedule and day!!!

I guess it could have been worse haha!

You know you're my hero Glenn!!! I still treasure the day I was walking through the lobby of Kidani and heard you sweetly calling my name..... ;)

Uh oh. I think you have a secret admirer! :lmao:

Some great updates Jen! Unfortunately while I was catching up, all of the pictures weren't coming up so I missed some really great shots it sounds like! Love the Bubba pose on SM, and she has some really well placed "thumbs up" in some of the pictures!!! :rolleyes1 :rotfl2: I guess that comes with much practice!

It's all about the timing. If you ain't got that, you ain't got the authentic Canadian thumbs up stamp of approval :thumbsup2

I definitely need to get a picture with Chip and Dale in space suits some day! They are probably my favorites too.

First time for me ever seeing them in those outfits. I hope you get to catch them like this too!

Our DVC home is also Kidani!

You are on my jealous list as well :P

And FYI, make sure you keep up with my TR when I start covering the actually Disney portion of the trip (well, feel free to keep up the rest of the time too!). I took a lot of pictures to honor some of my Disney friends, so you never know.....there might just be a Canadian thumbs up salute at some point in the trip! :rolleyes1

I know, I am a terrible person for not keeping up with your TR. Will get all caught up tonight! Promise!

Hi Jen I can't wait till tomorrow !!!!! It was soooo cold here today I didn't get out to the mall !!!But I will be at the Casino at 10 a.m !!!!!:banana:

 Well I'm a little late in replying but I had a FANTASTIC time!!!!!

Oh man, I know exactly what you mean about being irritated when you have to deviate from your perfectly laid out plans.

It's a DIS faux pas for sure.

I'm sorry about your being disappointed in Sanaa. When I ate there before, I found that I was a little disappointed and that what I had ordered was a bit too spicy for me.

I think you need to go into Sanaa with someone who has already eaten there. Then they can be like "Hey, try this. It's delicious!" while they might move on to try something else. At least then (as long as you have a trusting friend) will enjoy your meal.

Love the beaver. Just sayin'. ;)

I'm glad!

The DVC ownership is "Animal Kingdom Villas", so you can reserve either. I prefer Kidani, but may do Jambo again sometime.

Oh realllllly. You have the choice. Sheesh, you DVC owners are spoiled :snooty:

Okay, that makes sense. I thought you just weren't posting it because you were squinty again.

Naw, I'm not afraid to flaunt my ravishing good looks

good update even though it wasn't what you were expecting! Did the manager at least use her dining discount for you guys??? It's only 20% off plus $18 grat but it's something!!

I'm pretty sure she did. Either that or we used my TIW card.

I know how it is having to change a schedule that you take months to plan!!!
..aka..food poisoning..epic fail to the schedule and day!!!

No matter how much we plan, we can never predict the unpredictable. Darn!

Subscribing!!! I have enjoyed your TR so far!! Can't wait to hear the rest! :cool1:

:welcome: Hey Bridget!!! Thanks for joining in. I hope you enjoy the show :goodvibes
