DON'T Read This TRIP REPORT If You're a Princess Hater!

I love the window shots! You must have decorated the room? Do you have any pics?

And the poses....... they're all HER ideas. I'm just along for the ride!!

Kadence's idea of a pose is tongue hanging out or Total Diva fashion pose!:rotfl:

QUOTE=mom2rtk;42061152]I do think we're pretty set on the same week in December. My dialing finger is in shape and ready to call in this week when the free dining will supposedly be announced. I just have to make the call on whether I can sacrifice a day for Universal, which will play into shortchanging AK yet again........!
I heard the free dining rumor:woohoo:, I've been helping a friend plan a first trip and I've been watch for new deals for them. Good Luck!

QUOTE=mom2rtk;42061152]I've been keeping up with your trip report and can't WAIT to hear how the surprise goes over. I'm so excited for you guys!
I can't wait to see how she reacts! I'm so ready to just be there all ready!

I need to win the lottery and have you become my personal seamstress. I could fly you out for fittings and everything! Heck better yet, fly you to Florida and we'll fly there and meet you there for a weekend fitting, with a little park time included. :lmao:
That is such an awesome outfit.

That outfit is so cute! I love the uniqueness of it. I'm sure the Mickey version will be just as great.

I've already started working on how best to get Christmas decor into our limited luggage. I agree that it really makes the trip back to the hotel nice.

We've been doing 8-10 day trips the last several times and it is amazing how quickly it seems to go. Even with all of that time we always miss out on things and the last day angst sets in. I often wonder how long we'd need to go to avoid that. Wish I could test the theory and find out by making our trips longer and longer. ;)

I actually sent down 2 boxes of stuff before the trip so I didn't have to worry about it. But then our luggage was already pretty full.......... :rolleyes1

I'm pretty sure I'd have last day angst regardless of how many days we stayed. I'm finally understanding it's more about returning to reality than not being "done".

I love the window shots! You must have decorated the room? Do you have any pics?

Thanks! Believe it or not though...... not too much happening inside the room. We put up the tree, but that's it. I'm not sure if the tree will come back or not. I might bring it, but leave it behind this time like I swore I was going to last time. It was a $3 clearance tree from Wal-Mart the year before.

LOL! I think I saw some of those poses in your Trip Report! :rotfl: But keep in mind Katie has had a few more years practice than Kadence!

The free dining rumor is looking more and more credible. I'm catching up on my sleep so I can call in early Wed. AM!

As I suspected, I"ll have to break off the first day as a room only reservation, then start free dining the next day. But it mostly gets the job done! It will take the sting out of Katie being a Disney adult now. And this gets us one last year at a reasonable upgrade cost ($12 a day for each of us compared with $15 or 16 next year! YIKES!)

You know I'd be there for you Jen! :thumbsup2

Hey Carey, I know a fabulous Travel Agent you friend should book through!

Hey Carey, I know a fabulous Travel Agent you friend should book through!

I actually have you in mind for them, IF they ever:headache:!!! make up their minds!!!

Oh, and when I win the lotto, I'll just swing by in my personal jet and pick both you ladies up (+ kiddos) Jen can make the arrangments, Janet the costumes and I can do the meal and park planning!:lmao:

Officially inspired by your thread!!! I just bought my first pattern to make a dress for my little girl. I already sew but I'm strictly home dec -- never made any type of clothing other than a pillowcase dress -- and let's face it, a pillowcase dress is basically home dec. :rotfl2:

So, I spent some time looking for patterns. I knew I wanted to make an Alice dress for my little girl but I couldn't find any new patterns that I thought looked authentic -- so I found an uncut vintage pattern on eBay. It should arrive this week and I'm getting started this weekend. I've already purchased the fabric -- a whopping 7.00 -- so I won't be out more than 10.00 if the whole project doesn't work out.

I have no loft expectations that it will look anything like your beautiful creations but I'll be overwhelmingly pleased if it just looks like a dress and stays on!!

Here goes nothing!!!

This is one of my favorite updates! Totally worth the wait!

The EE pics are fantastic! I love the way that whole area looks.

I absolutely  that CMs outfit! It is so unique! I think I like that even better than the ones that match the characters. It's just so different and really creative!

You are so fortunate that Katie will really get into the magic and let loose and fun with it all on your trips. She always looks like she is having a wonderful time.

The window........... WOW! I love that! You are so diligent to pack all that stuff up to pixie dust the room and window! I always want to do that, but I guess I am too lazy to mess with the packing, assembling, and repacking. But your pictures are sooooo cute. I love her looking through the Mickey head! Priceless!

Love the update!!!! I just love that Chef Mickey's outfit - wow!! WHere did you get those shoes??

So did anyone else take advantage of the new free dining offer today? I was part of that mass of humanity crashing the Disney phones and the DIS site itself this morning.......... but I got it applied to our trip! YEAH! :dance3: Slowly but surely that total is looking more manageable!

Woo HOO!:banana::banana: I'm so IN!

You DID buy a ticket, right??????? :teeth:

I say jump right in ......... with BOTH feet! There's no better say to learn than by trial and error. I start a lot of the things I make by just whacking away at broadcloth or some other "throw-away" fabric.

Love the update!!!! I just love that Chef Mickey's outfit - wow!! WHere did you get those shoes??

Thanks! Those were actually adult Minnie Mouse costume shoes we scored on the Disney Store online. I think I paid $3 for them at the end of the season. I was SO sad when Katie outgrew all the child size costume shoes. This was the first time we tried the smallest adult size. They were a little big, but Katie obviously didn't care!

This trip actually started in December of 09. I got the down payment as my Christmas gift. So I had no packages from Santa that year. To lift my spirits (given that the trip seemed SO far away....) I hit the stores after Christmas to find clearance decorations. Decorating our window was something I really wanted to do. I found that light-up Mickey snowman at Walgreens not long before the trip. I just have to remember to bring replacement batteries this time ...... and a tiny screwdriver to open the comparment! I wanted him glowing as we got back to the room, but we ran out of power after a couple days. It's funny, but one night we even had a knock on our door. There was a CM there on behalf of another guest wanting to know where we had gotten him!

I did!!! Add the free dining this morning with the SUPER cheap plane tickets I got last night ($240 total for 2 ROUND TRIP tickets from STL!) along with some amazing personal news and this has just been a ROCKSTAR day!!

Awesome airfare from here! What airline and dates?

We got FD today too! Since we already had a pin code before it wasn't a huge discount, but another 10% off makes me happy!

ETA: Just found it. Ai yi yi yi yi. I'd love to have saved half on my airfare. Although 6:15 am is the only flight home on my dates and there's no way I could do that with the two kiddos.

On Delta! Go check it out! I got it last night! They might still have the rates. I went to the "deals" page (found the link at the bottom of the home page) and just ran my dates in the form on that page. All the flights for the days I needed were $96 RT before taxes. Please go check it out! Let me know if it works out for you!!! I was so excited I was shaking as I purchased them!

ETA: Hey Neighbor!!:wave2:

I did get it to come up, but I had gotten impatient back when SW did their big $40 sale and booked with them and AirTran then. Got decent pricing, but this is amazing pricing!

You did have me checking my pricing though and I ended up switching my flight down to the earlier one. We'll have to get up early, but it will give my animal-loving DD some time to enjoy our special 2-nights of savanna view. SW even took out the $0.60 price difference. ;) Guess they didn't want to pay a fee to get my $0.60. :thumbsup2

:wave2: from West County.

That Southwest sale was pretty good pricing! If they had had our dates available I would have booked then too! I'm glad you're getting a little extra time at Disney though! :thumbsup2

I just found your TR and read the entire thing. It looks like you had a great trip. I loved your photos and Katie's outfits. Adorable. I just got my first DSLR a few weeks ago. I really want to learn out to use it (more than just auto mode). Any book or website suggestions to get started. I want to take a basic photography course, but I have to wait until fall when it is offered at the CC.

I did :thumbsup2 Though my trustee travel agent Jen is the one who braved the phones for me :worship:  11/16-11/21

12/18/2010: CONTINUED

So cute!! I did an outfit almost exactly like this for my little one - great minds think alike!! The ruffles are so fun!! Although I didn't have the cute hat or the awesome shoes!!! I think I am going to bring this one along on our October trip (I love that she has yet to outgrow things - except for height).

Love the poses! Kenzie is starting to do this and I can see we're going to have a little diva on our hands.

Love the trip report and pics!! Thanks!
