DON'T Read This TRIP REPORT If You're a Princess Hater!

Are you doing MNSSHP? You can see the pair there.

I have debated doing MNSSHP, but it is hard for me to justify spending the money when we don't like Halloween. I know that sounds crazy to most people, but we don't celebrate Halloween, so I don't know if we would get our monies worth out of the party without doing the parade and fireworks. My DD would hate that parade b/c she doesn't like anything scary (grave diggers, headless horseman, the music, etc.). I would love to go just for the characters though, (especially the 7 dwarfs) and the Cinderella's carriage photo op, but it is hard for me to shell out that kind of money and not do the main party stuff. We went to MVMCP on our first trip and enjoyed it a lot, but we did ALL the party stuff and I felt like it was worth the money. I would LOVE for us to go to MK dressed up together as a family though (I don't consider costumes as just a "Halloween thing"). I think that would be so much fun. In fact I've been toying with the idea of DD being Alice, DH being the Mad Hatter, and me being the Red Queen! But I don't know... we probably won't go. I wish they still had the Pirate & Princess parties. I think we would have loved that one.

Guess what.... look @ my siggie! :teeth:

As for Flynn taking a hike...not cool. :( they need to have more boys out. Really? They're keeping Eric over Flynn? Who's cooler???

Wow. Although I'm happy to think we won't have to do the rope-drop race to stand in line for this M&G, I'm a little disappointed because we were really looking forward to meeting Eugene (my daughter will NOT call him Flynn :rotfl:). I guess we'll have to try to squeeze it in during the MNSSHP.

Sorry to barge in on the conversation there - just hadn't heard this before! :hippie:

No barging in at all. The main reason I hang out on the DIS is to keep up on our character stalking.......err...... hunting.....:rolleyes1

The VERY first I saw any of this was yesterday. For a bit it was pure rumor, but it's been pretty well substantiated by various CM's.

MNSSHP would be your best bet if she wants to meet Eugene! :lovestruc

Well, I can see your point if you're not into Halloween. It's a slam dunk for us to do the parties because we relish the entire experience..... the characters, parade, fireworks, shows... the whole deal. It's MUCH harder to justify if you take out several of those pieces.

Do keep in mind though that the other princesses should have their princes with them that night too. Boil it down to this: Would you pay $10 each to meeat 4 princes, $10 for the dwarfs, and $10 for the carriage photo op? I absolutely would! :rotfl: But then I'm sure that doesn't surprise anyone here....... :rotfl2:

What I DO recommend is that you watch the theme park board for the latest before you go. Or PM me. I'm usually up to date on that sort of stuff. They have started a write-in campaign, but I doubt that's something I would count on......

YEAH! Glad to hear you've been productive! Can't wait to pop over in a moment! :surfweb:

I wouldn't be the LEAST bit surprised to hear Eric goes away too. He's been in and out over the past year. We STILL have never met him. We never knew he was back with Ariel during the P&P Party..... and he wasn't out on this trip either. Oops..... did I spill part of the story of our last day? :rotfl2: No surprise though. I had kept an eye on things here and sort of knew that going into it.

And I DO think it's funky to short the boys like this. They seemed to be trying SO hard to man up this Fantasyland Expansion..... It seemed to me they had been working overtime in fact. Hey..... maybe they can rename it Flynn Rider presents the Rapunzel meet & greet....... sort of like they renamed the castle for Prince Charming........ :rolleyes1

Thanks! It is nice to "know" someone in the know! :rotfl:

We did MNSSHP last year and had a blast but didn't do the character meets - I know, unthinkable! The night just disappeared so quickly! Where do they do the prince-and-princess meet-and-greets?

Always happy to help in matter of such import. :surfweb:

I do know what you mean about the night passing so quickly. When we did our first hard ticketed party, we only didn one or two character meets, and still ran out of time quickly.

The princes were with the princesses back in Toontown with the princesses in their normal meeting location. It's not like you would just stumble across them. I imagine this year they'll be in the new princess location in Town Square Theater.

Thanks! I think we will try to make that happen this year.

I just found your trip report and I love it!!! I'm from KS myself and love all princesses :lovestruc I'm only half way through it, but I just had to tell you how much I adore your outfits and your daughter is just so pretty.

I'm trying to figure out what things to do for my (then 4 year old) daughter for our upcoming trip. If you have any suggestions I would greatly appreciate them!

I'm looking forward to finishing up this thread!!!

I've been meaning to ask you if you ever decided on getting a waterproof camera? I just ordered the Panasonic Lumix TS3 for our cruise in October. It should be here tomorrow! I can't wait to try it out at the pool. I hope it doesn't disappoint me since I have never had a "regular" digital camera. I've only owned 2 digital cameras since switching from film and they have both been high end point and shoots. The TS3 is basically a standard point and shoot with underwater abilities. We'll see. I have 30 days to return it. It had the best reviews, imo, of the waterproof models out there. I kept debating on getting one, but I just couldn't see myself going to the Bahamas, snorkeling, Typhoon Lagoon, CBR pool, etc. and not getting any pictures of that stuff. So I took the plunge! No pun intended! :rolleyes1 If you're still interested in a WP camera, I'll let you know how it works out! And if not, I'll probably end up telling you all about it anyway! :lmao:

Thanks! I think we will try to make that happen this year.

Since the princess area has fastpass now, I'm crossing my fingers that maybe they'll have that on during the party. It would save a lot of waiting around!

The dresses are absolutely amazing!! Makes me want to give it a go :)

Many thanks! :goodvibes You really should. It's a lot of fun. Do you sew? Did you maybe make the cute Alice in your avatar?

There are lots of great things for 4 year olds. If she is ok with being away fro you for a bit, the Alice tea party is awesome. And of course, the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique is great too. Just be sure to bring something special for her to wear to complete the look and get some great photos!

I do think age 4 is about the best at Disney. Old enough to handle a few lines without needing a potty break.......... but young enough to still believe in all the magic. :wizard:

I'd still love to hear your feedback, but I'm not in the market any more. Before we left on our brief road trip, one version of the trip had us bringing the boys along and doing some rafting on the Colorado River. But not even that was enough to get them to come. Apparently the thought of having some time alone was more appealing than 4 or 5 days in the car with us, even if there was rafting involved. go figure.........:lmao:

Ooooh - I hadn't thought of that! Wouldn't that be awesome????? :cool1:

I did, but I have never tried a detailed princess gown for her yet. I would love to do that, but I'm still learning how to "make" patterns so I'm very pattern driven lol. I'm lost without my patterns :thumbsup2

I am also watching to see what will happen with the Rapunzel M&G for our October trip and will have to decide if it is worth it to wait to meet Flynn/Eugene at MNSSHP since the line for Princesses may not let us know WHICH princesses we will meet. Already considering adding a second night of MNSSHP because with Kristin going into middle school in 2012, it could be a long time before we can sneak away for a Halloween trip!

AND SW airlines reduced our arrival AND departure flights, so now I have an $800 credit :scared1: and while I would rather get a refund, since that isn't an option, I am seriously considering a quick trip to DL in March before our expiration date for travel. We have never been to DL, and I am getting excited! DH, not so much, since we will have just been at WDW in October, but maybe it will be the first (of hopefully many) girls only trips!! If it works out, I will need touring tips! I know DL is a completely different experience.

Disneyland is amazing. Have you ever been?

Disneyland is amazing. Have you ever been?

No, it would be my first trip even to CA! There are so many things in CA that I want to see, but this would be a short trip and you can see where my priorities are!:lmao: my sister went to DL 2 years ago and she loves how you could "see it all" in 2-3 days compared to WDW, hoping it works out for us!

I like Epcot, but shhhhhhhh........... don't tell anyone............. I just don't get excited about it like so many do. And I love learning about the world around me. I love nothing better than watching the Travel Channel, or Discovery Channel, or History Channel. But I guess Disney's just not the place I want to be in learning mode.

Doing some catching up, but AH, this is 100%, totally and completely me. I placate myself with "Well, Epcot's got a lot of great photo opportunities at least..." It's definitely the park that I look least forward to and wouldn't be too upset to skip if I had to. My husband always teases me - "A little too much learnin' for ya?"

OK, sorry I've been MIA. Sometimes I get in the middle of a project and just can't stop until it's done. And maybe done again. I'm finally back up for air......... I still have about a day's work to do making fabric flowers, but the dress has finally taken form.......

I'm usually pretty pattern driven myself. Most of what I make actually starts with a pattern of some sort. But I veer off sharply from there, adding sleeves, skirts, peplums and various parts from othe patterns. It's a very technical process know as "frankenpatterning". Seriously. :rotfl:

How awesome to have such a great credit with Southwest! I'm tempted to go ahead and buy our airfare soon, and watch for a credit if it goes down. But then I don't want to commit on days until I know the dates of any promotions from Disney.

I'm not a Disneyland expert on touring, but I have been 4 times. It doesn't take as long to do as WDW, but there is plenty to do. It's an entirely different creature since you truly CAN hop from one park to another. FP touring stratety is completely different since you can realistically run from one park to another just to get fastpasses for later, then come back.

Disneyland is amazing. Have you ever been?

NOOOOOOOOO!!!!!! Don't start! :rotfl: I finally just going with a semi-plan for WDW for December and now you're going to start all that talk about how wonderful DLR is! You see, I actually thought about skipping WDW this year and going to DLR instead in the fall or December. There is so much in DL that is better. But even with affordable flights, it comes down to the fact that we can stay longer and eat better at WDW if they offer free dining.

So I'm just going to stick my fingers in my ears for the remainder of this DLR discussion........ la la la la la la la la la ...............

Do be sure to check out the DL forum here on the DIS. You need to learn about AP blackout days, early entry, that sort of thing.

And they have a new parade that looks absolutely GORGEOUS!

Come on WDW......... pick up the pace here!

We mostly character hunt and do Test Track and Soarin at Epcot and call it a day. But don't tell anyone, OK????? I'm glad there's a lot there for us to explore together as Katie gets older. Maybe it's because it's more of an "adult" park, and I'm not much of an adult????? :rotfl:

Well that is good to know! Another DIS friend! I scrapbook too! I'm actually going to update with pictures of my scrapbook on my ptr tomorrow! I have a sewing machine but I need to take a refresher course! I took home ec in high school and sewing in high school but it's been too long :( I think i'm going to go to Joann's and take a class! I went and bought fabric and decided to make some washcloths for myself but I couldn't get the right stitch and didn't know how to start and end properly :( Lol! I would totally do that too! Uh Oh! I hate when they sell out of fabric! The Belle dress is Amazing! I love it! I can only hope that one day I will be able to make clothes like that for my kids!
