We will be checking into the Beach Club very early, probably around 7am. I know that our room won't be ready, but we will need to check in so that we can get out park tickets.

Anyway, is there anywhere at the Beach Club where I get our Photopass+ activated at the same time or will I have to leave that until we get to the parks?

There is a desk, but it is only open from 5:30 pm to 9 or something like that, so you will have to wait until you get to the park that day.

Just in case we don't get a fridge, do you know if they sell coolers in the hotel shop?

Not sure. That would be a great item to offer for sale in any of the resorts that have to swap out fridges!!!

When is your trip?

Hoping that we will be hearing more news as time goes by. Hopefully people who are traveling soon will report back on the fridge situation. We had one last week. Others have not.

We arrive at the Beach Club on Saturday 10th August, I'll report on here whether or not we get a working fridge in our room.

Thanks for the info on the Photopass+ desk. I'll get the pass whilst the rest of the family do their first ride then. I can't do most of the rides so I'm the official bag/camera carrier for everyone.

How fun! We go to Disneyland somewhat frequently since we live in CA. There are the Disney hotels, but there are also many other hotels right there that are the "good neighbor" hotels. Some of them are great and close (5 min walk) and some are pretty gross. If you want some recommendations, just pm me.

We found one about 15 minute drive away ... half way in between beach and Disneyland ... last year when we went. Inexpensive, very clean, suite, free breakfast. So we booked it again. The extra space with Lily is great. We could put her to sleep and watch TV in the living room area without disturbing her.

The voucher doesn't say that though -- it mentions just the parks and DTD. I'm going to ask at the Marketplace anyway. We go before you do so I'll try to remember to post the answer here!

Yep.. white styrofoam in the marketplace in the back across from the counter service against the wall. Sorry I don't know the price!

WEll I am planning my 2014 June trip and am allowing DD to bring a friend for the first time. Teena got me all excited with talk of the BC updates and club room expansion. I am confused though and am thinking it is a website error as the Deluxe rooms at YC are over 100 more than the deluxe rooms at BC. My only guess is MAYBE YC deluxe rooms are on 5 floor whereas BC deluxe not? I don't know..

1. Is a deluxe room worth the extra cost? From what I can see you get a small bit of extra space, doesn't seem like much unless the pictures don't do it justice...Anyone stay in a deluxe ? Not so crazy about going up and down elevatos to get to the lounge...

2. I am a club level veteran but did not stay last month b/c of DD's new gluten issues. I will find it hard to justify cost of CL if there are no gluten friendly options provided at services. Desserts? Anyone stay with gluten issues?

3. Are there differences between deluxe rooms at YC vs. BC

Yep, major differences in the deluxe rooms at the YC versus the BC. I have only been in the BC six deluxe rooms. You know I go to the dark side as little as possible. The deluxe rooms at the BC are definitely not on the fifth floor. They are really really roomy compared to the regular rooms. Just oversized. If you are excited about the renovations and are looking for summer 2014, the YC will not even be started then. So if you are looking for a renovated room, you need to do the BC. Since they are starting on the fifth floor, I think it would be pretty safe to assume all the fifth floor rooms will be done by summer IF AND THAT'S A BIG IF the renovations start in January of 2014. Since the deluxe rooms are not on the fifth floor, I'd skip anything except the regular CL floors if you definitely want a renovated room. And remember, I can't guarantee the fifth floor will be done by summer but if they start on time (January), I'm guessing the fifth floor will be done.

We have our first trip to the BC the starting Sept 14 - only 51 days away!

But a quick question - there aren't refrigerators in every room? I was really counting on having a refrigerator...

ETA - I just read further and see they are being swapped out. Hopefully they'll be all set when we get there. This thread is a wealth of info thanks!

Another question now - I see a lot of people are getting magic bands. Do you think we can get them for our September trip??

I will assume that the BC GV CL rooms remain as is in terms of quantity (very few and I could get stuck with a handicap room..). the rooms they are losing to expand the lounge must be standard view so that won't affect the GV count. I would call and ask to speak with a club level manager and tell them your concerns about the gluten free things and I'm sure they would be able to tell you if anything is. I'm sending you a pm.

Those of us getting them are part of the latest test group -- the requirement seems to be staying at YC in Aug. Haven't heard anything for magic bands beyond that!

So I just booked a mini portrait session at Beach Club for Halloween morning (just happened to be the only day they had a time that worked for us)! Anyone have any experience with this? I was planning for mostly bday pics of the twins with a few family pics. Sooo excited

How much was it. I am considering it for my upcoming trip with my 5 month old. Thanks!
