Don't know anything about PINs, codes or bouncebacks - help!

Hi all - I'm a veteran WDW traveller (11 times ) but I've always just gone to the WDW travel company and booked my package. I had no idea that there were discounts and codes and things (oh my!) that could lower my total cost!
Can someone give me a brief explaination on what the different discounts are? I know about the "buy 4 get 3 free" deals (duh) but what are PIN codes and bouncebacks, etc?
I'm planning a 5/19-5/27/2010 trip - was thinking of staying in a moderate but would LOVE to be able to stay at a deluxe if the price with some discount
was comperable. What are the chances that a discount will actually bring the total cost of a deluxe package down to the same price as a moderate package without a discount?
Sorry I'm so ignorant about this - I need help!!!

No one knows exactly how Mickey picks who gets a code or when. The one thing we DO know is that you have to be registered at a Disney site. I tend to think the WDW site is a good choice. If you are aregistered member it then becomes possible to get a pin code that is non-transferable, only for you, and they mean it! Sometimes the offers are for things like free dining, sometimes for discounts on rooms, or sometimes free upgrades. No way to MAKE it happen.

Bouncebacks are offers you receive at Disney while staying in a resort hotel owned by Disney. You might find a card in your room with a special number/code on it. You might see it advertised on resort TV. Either way, you must make the reservation before you check out and put down a $200 deposit.

First thing I would do is register online. You can also get tips from some websites, like this one or Mousesavers.com about other ways to save money. The WDW site will also show you other offers available to the general public. Be careful though, you must click through the offer to make that reservation to get the discount.
