Don't forget to pack ____

Hi all! I think a few people had mentioned bringing the Frogg Togg cooling towels... So I looked into it. It seems like many of the reviews say that it works great in dry climates, but not good at all in humid climates. Isn't DW pretty humid in the end of May/beginning of June timeframe? Has anyone used them in that timeframe or in a really humid timeframe and found them useful?

Also, which size (towel, sport towel, Dana, wristband, or headband) would you recommend and why?

Thanks!!!

I recommended these to my friend as her DH is a very large guy (6-4 300lbs) and they were going in JULY! Well, he said they worked great in WDW. Like the Enduracool or any snapcool towels, you do have to move it or snap it after a while. He'd get a glass of icewater from CS and just re-wet it after a few hours. There's some reviews in Amazon with one recent one mentioning in the comments that somebody had just taken them to Panama on their vacation. He used the larger towels because he's a larger guy, but you could use whatever size is appropriate to your size. The neck ones will keep you cooler than the wrist ones, obviously, and I don't like a headband, but that's me.

I'm going to check those towels out...I always need things to keep me cool. My advice is medication. I am a diabetic....and forgot my insulin one trip. It was a crazy couple of hours scrambling around in Orlando to get it.

Agreed - I get occasional (but periods of frequent!) migraines. When I don't have fairly quick access to my meds, it ruins the day if not more.

If you're flying (especially if you're coming from a colder climate) make sure you have a change of clothes in your carryon. One trip our luggage didn't make it onto the plane. We had to buy shorts and tshirts in the WL gift shop so we wouldn't overheat in out winter weather gear.

Just another side of the coin....we bought Frogg Toggs for our trip last June based on all the wonderful recommendations here and online, and we didn't care for them. They get very hard when they're dry, so we didn't find they were easy to carry or fold. They're like cardboard. If they're even the slightest bit wet when you fold them up they get moldy really quickly. We used them one day in the parks, and then folded them up and put them in a Ziploc bag in our backpack so they wouldn't get other things in our bag wet. We took them out of the bag when we got back to the room and after only about 3 hours in the bag they had black spots on them and smelled horrible. :scared: I'm sure, in hindsight we should have allowed them to fully dry before putting them in our bag, but in Florida, in June, we would've been walking around waving our towel in the air trying to dry it for hours. :rotfl:

So this one is more towards the ladies but uh....don't forget the over the shoulder boulder holders... aka your bras lol. :lmao:People have mentioned forgetting their underoos, but my last trip, I forgot to pack my regular bras and only had the sports bra I wore on the plane trip over. It was super hot and just too tight for all day wear in FL weather and was forced to buy some ridculous one that was too expensive and that I hated.

But for other things...

swimsuit
extra hair ties/bobby pins
glasses (in case contacts die)
waterproof mascara (so I don't look terrifying coming off splash lol)
printouts of all confirmations (dinners/airplane/car/etc)
gel inserts for shoes
camera charger/or extra battery

Loved reading All the replies

My last trip (March) I wish I had remembered a cover up or jacket for after getting out of the pool. It was chilly at night and those pool towels are not very generous.

Immodium and tums. Though I must admit that Immodium is the one drug WDW doesn't overcharge for.
Ace bandage and icy hot or tiger balm. Sprained ankles seem to plague me at the parks.
Ziplocks, zip ties, duct tape, and safety pins.
Spare magic band in the car.
Powerstrip, battery backup for charging in park, correct batteries for camera, pocket notebook and pens for notes

The Dollar Tree is the best place to get zip bags, cups, etc. They often have tose little pop up laundry baskets.
Some people get an over the door show holder for brushes, hair things, all those little things that take up counter space.

On QVC the other day they had a Charging devise that you could charge like 2-3 items. I think it was made by Halo and it could charge up iPhones, iPads, and others. I know someone on here is always asking about chargers and I thought u could check qvc out for that.

This may sound crazy....

If you're staying on property & buy a small fortune in souvenirs like I do, then you constantly have to fill out the form to send stuff back to your resort. Invest a few bucks in a self inking custom stamper w/ your name, address & phone on it. It takes about 10 seconds to stamp each carbon & then you just have to mark your hotel info. Life has been so much easier.....

So you stamp each layer of the carbon form? Genius! Anyone have a list of all the specifics the form asks for?

I just print out address labels (or better yet pack those freebie ones I get in the mail) before we go & use these for all sorts of things like this as well as anybody I'm sending postcards too :goodvibes

Something I haven't seen posted yet but always pack "just in case" is feminine hygiene products.

Personally, with thyroid issues sometimes I just can't predict exactly when I'm going to get a visit and better to be safe than have to be hunting for and paying top dollar for that stuff - especially where it's a personal item and most people have specific brands they prefer.

Antibacterial wet wipes. Good for cleaning off tables/chairs as well as sticky little (or big) hands!

I bring those as well as Clorox wipes - I walk in the room, wipe down the remote, the phone, light switches, door knobs and faucets & toilet flusher. Who knows where the hands that touched those previously have been.

I'm not a germaphobe, just careful...and I have heard horror stories. Ever since I started washing my hands more often, using hand sanitizer and wiping down our rooms at the hotels, the numbers of post-trip colds have dropped to almost nothing. I bring them on all our trips now.

I have a track record of ALWAYS breaking my sunglasses in Disney and then scrambling to buy another (cheaply made yet very expensive) pair in the park... Now I always pack an extra pair :thumbsup2

I always keep shout or other stain removal wipes in my theme park backpack. Too many ketchup incidents with the child to not be prepared.
