Don't eat that! Let me take a picture first! 7 nights on the basic DDP. Complete 5/5

we have always talked about staying at the Nick Hotel for a day or two. Looks fun!

Subbing! that Nick hotel looks awesome...I always wanted to be "slimed" as a kid...i used to watch You Cant Do that on Television all the time! Can't wait to read more :)

Thanks for reading everyone!!!! :)

One last Nick review....
When I saw a kid eating one of these, I HAD to have one...

BIG MISTAKE! I have to say this was one of the most cute but discusting things ever! It had the consistency of ice cream but was fruit punch flavored. :scared: And those eyeballs.... black gum! :scared1:

Stay away from these things. :scared:

We were very sad to leave the Nick. :sad1:

But we had better things waiting for us at the POFQ.

And one of these cute little guys arrived each day.

We started our Disney dining with 4 of these:

IMG_0588.jpg

We filled them at least 2 times a day with soda, iced tea, coffee, or half and half (which the boys said tasted like whole milk). :thumbsup2

They were not included on the basic dining plan, so they cost us about $55 OOP. They were definitely worth it. 4 bottled drinks (water, soda, etc.) cost $10, so I was happy we had the mugs.

Wow the Nick hotel looks like a lot of fun :)

It really was! :yay: We were sad that we were only there for a day. We got there early in morning, spent the day in the pools, and the night at the live show. Our DS was picked to go up on stage, so that was really fun! DH and the boys also got passes to ride the 4D ride. We all had a great time there. :goodvibes

Now the Disney magic starts....

We got to the POFQ really early (about 9am), and our room was ready!!! :woohoo: We got all checked in and headed over to the Dolphin to turn in our rental car. Well, we soon realized that I had printed out the wrong directions! Once we finally got there it was 10:20 - and our car was due back at 10:00. :guilty: I figured that if we were going to have to pay for an extra day, we would just keep the car and go get some groceries for the room. So, I asked the attendant if we would be charged. He smiled and say "Why would you be charged? Look at the time." He had written 10:00 on the paperwork. :cloud9: I love Disney! :lovestruc

We walked over to Epcot for our first ADR....
LUNCH at LE CELLIER

I was mistaken about our ADR time, so we ended up checking in an hour early. Unfortunately they were completely booked and turning walk-ups away. They couldn't get us in early, so we had time to ride the green version of Mission Space and single rider Test Track. We ran back and checked in about 5 minutes late.

As we waited to be called for our table, the CMs played a trivia game with everyone in the waiting area. I was shocked when my boys (7 and 9) answered almost every question! How in the world do they know so much about Canada?!?!?!?!? :confused3 Each right question got them a sticker, so their shirts were covered when we were seated. I even got one right myself! (But only because we had watched O'Canada earlier that morning.)

We were seated in a crowded corner with about 8 inches between our table and the one beside us, but who cares.... were in Le Cellier! :woohoo:

Our server was Chelsea, and she was wonderful! She gave us the run-down for the dining plan. There are several frozen specialty (non-alcoholic) drinks that you can choose, or soda, tea, or bottled water. Our boys had milk. DH had an iced tea (unsweetened) along with a Maudite beer recommended by Chelsea (oop $6.25). It was a great choice! I had a little taste, and I loved it too.

I had a Raspberry smoothie that isn't listed on the allears menu. I'll check my receipt to see if I can find the correct name. It was included on the DDP, and it was really good.
EDIT: Found the receipt. It is listed as: P NA Lava Smoothie

I'll be back soon with the rest of the food. :goodvibes

BONUS PICTURE:

We were there during the Flower and Garden show. These lovely topiaries were near the entrance to Le Cellier.

I'll start by saying sorry for the blurry pictures. I get better at is as the week progresses. :)

After our drinks, Chelsea delivered the yummy bread basket. She did caution us about DS9 having any bread. It is not baked in-house, so they can't promise there isn't any nut cross-contamination. His allergy is mild, so we let him have the bread, and he didn't have any problems.

IMG_00522.jpg

I had read on another thread that the butter balls look like Spaceship Earth. I told the kids, so they both had to have butter on their bread. ;)

IMG_0472.jpg

As always, the bread was very good. We like the pretzel bread the most, but the other two are very good as well.

Children get an appetizer, entree and dessert with the DDP. DS7 had the Carrot and Celery sticks with Ranch dressing - minus the celery. The carrots were fresh and crisp - and enough to share with all of us. We didn't try the ranch dressing, but it looked thick and creamy.

IMG_00542.jpg

DS9 had the Canadian Cheddar Cheese Soup. I can't find a picture of this. Sorry! It came in a small cup. He ate some, dipped bread in some, then ate the rest. He really enjoyed his soup - and wouldn't share! :sad2:

For our entrees:
DS7 had a hot dog and french fries. He said that it was really good. It was just a plain hot dog with some ketchup on the side.

IMG_00552-1.jpg

DS9 had a steak (medium) and french fries. The cut of meat isn't listed on the menu, but it looked like a small filet. There wasn't any fat on it at all! He finished the entire thing and kept going on and on about how tender and good it was. This was included on the DDP. We didn't have to pay the $2 extra charge oop.

IMG_00572.jpg

DH and I both ordered the Le Cellier Mushroom Filet Mignon this is supposed to come with wild mushroom risotto, white truffle and herb butter sauce. We substituted Cream Cheese Mashed Potatoes for the risotto. Chelsea asked if we would like to have the mushrooms on top, and we both said yes. We like mushrooms - jut not risotto.

These filets were amazing! I've read that they are "fork tender", so I decided to test that out. They are! :cloud9: I easily cut mine with the side of my fork. We both ordered them medium rare, and they were cooked perfectly. The mashed potatoes were very good as well. They had a nice light cream cheese flavor. This was a fantastic meal!

For dessert:
DS7 and DS9 both had the Ice-cream sundae. Since DS9 is allergic to cashews, they recommended that he not eat the banana chips.

The boys really like that everything comes in seperate cups, so they got to pour it all together.

IMG_00642-1.jpg

DH went with the famous Chocolate Mousse. He said that it was rich and chocolaty and very good.

IMG_00662.jpg

I had the Maple Creme Brulee.:love::love: This is the best dessert on the planet!!!!! The top has that nice toasty sugar crunch that kind of gooeys together as you chew it and the bottom is a slightly cool, creamy, maple custard. It is beyond wonderful. No matter how full I am I have to finish it all!

This was an amazing meal with wonderful service. :goodvibes This is on our must do list every year with good reason. :thumbsup2

Hi
I noticed you said your son had a cashew allergy...did the chefs have a lot to choose from for him @ Le Cellier. We are going there in May and DD has a peanut/tree nut allergy.
Thanks!

Does you DD eat steak? If so, she should be fine. They really cautioned us about the breads. When we went last year, our friend's DD ended up eating a hot dog with no bun. If your DD is very picky, you may want to call ahead and talk to them about what she could have.

Good luck!

She doesn't like red meat haha, so I don't know what I am going to do. Actually, I think DD could be a vegetarian. But yes, I do remember everywhere we went the chef's warning us about any bakery item, we stayed away just in case. I thought they had pasta though?

I now know what I am having to eat at Le Celliers!!!!!! It look so good! Mushroom Filet Mignon with Cream Cheese Mashed Potatoes and I can’t wait to try the Maple Crème Brulee, Oh it really looks good
