Don't eat that! Let me take a picture first! 7 nights on the basic DDP. Complete 5/5

Enjoying your reviews can't wait for more. I thoughout about staying a Nick for 3 nights...Wayyy to expensive. keep the reviews coming.

Great review of Le Cellier, I have to try the Soup and Mushroom Filet, we had to cancel our ADR on our last trip because we got in later than expected to Orlando, I am not missing it this year:)

Cathy2120,

Without a doubt, the best bang for your CS buck on the dining plan is Wolfgang Puck Express at DDD. You order like at a CS then take a seat and are brought your food on real plates with real forks. Food is also pretty fabulous too!

I love reading and seeing pics of all the different foods in WDW. My first foray into the DDP, what would be my best CS bets? The most bang for my buck....
We've never really gone to the more expensive CS places. We tend to just eat where we are. From what I've read Cosmic Rays is a great choice. :thumbsup2 But, we've never made it over there. :confused3

Day 2

This was our first full day in the parks, so I had chosen it to celebrate my birthday. (It was actually the week before we went.)

Well, it started out about as bad as it could....
As we were getting dressed, I stepped on what I thought was a huge splinter. I called for DH to come and pull it out of my foot. It wasn't a splinter at all. It was a USED NEEDLE! :scared1: Not a syringe needle, but a sewing needle that the tip had been burned to sterilize it. :scared: This HORRIFIED me! After I stoped crying, I called housekeeping. The manager was in our room within minutes. She was very sorry, but honestly I don't blame them. The room was VERY clean. I guess someone had dropped it in the carpet and left it there. Thankfully, it wasn't very deep. Only a small drop of blood came to the surface. It didn't even bleed. But still...:scared:

So after all the DRAMA....
We just decided to eat at the food court before going to MK.

Sassagoula Food Court

Both boys had hot dogs and fries. In my pity me state of mind, I forgot to take pictures. They looked like typical Disney hot dogs. The boys seemed to enjoy them.

DH and I both had the Philly Cheese Steak Basket. It was huge and very filling. If I remember right, you got to choose if you wanted peppers and onions. It was good and I'd definitely get it again. DS tasted the meat and wished he had gotten one too. :thumbsup2

Dessert was Mickey ice cream sandwiches for the boys, a cinnamon roll for DH, and a Chocolate Muffin for me. The cinnamon roll was very sweet, moist and sticky. The muffin was very dense and chocolatie with chocolate chips. It was HUGE! This was a good use of our CS credits.

Later that evening, we had an early dinner at

Crystal Palace

Once again, I didn't get many pictures at all.

We really enjoy having dinner here. The character interaction is wonderful, and the food is very good. There are lots of cool offerings (salad, shrimp, etc.) We really like the salmon - but the sauce over it is very strong. We also love the carving station, bread, and dessert. This has been a must-do for us the last few years. We've found the food to be consistent and very good. Our CM was fantastic! She suggested that we pick up some pieces for fresh fruit (bananas, apples, oranges) to take with us. I'd never even thought of doing that! :) So we grabbed 4 bananas and 4 apples for breakfast the next morning. :goodvibes

Here the few pic's I snapped.....

My birthday decorations that were on the table when we arrived...

Salmon, mashed potatoes, I think cucumber with ginger, and Thai curry muscles.

Dessert was this

And how could I forget DS's appetizer!

It was very good, and great fun! We love eating here, and we're never too old for Tigger! :lovestruc

Thanks....I'll try it.

I love sticky buns....I didn't know these could be counted as a dessert....Can't wait...until September '09

We've eaten at Cosmic Ray's (really good value) I shared a plate with my 14 yrs old Michelle and we still had to throw away food. We ordered the 1/2 chicken and rib with fries and veggies....tons of food.

Just got all caught up - lovely pics :thumbsup2

My DD loves that sandwich at CHH - nobody else in our family eats tuna so she only really has it when we go out to eat somewhere, she considers it a real treat.

I love the food court at POFQ - it's great, although I've never had the cinnamon roll there and it looked delicious.

How gross was that about the needle - I bet you were concerned about that for a little while, talk about putting a bit of a dampener on your day :sad2:

What a traumatizing morning! Glad you made up for it with some good eats and good times. Happy belated birthday!

Thanks for the B-Day wishes. It ended up being great! Disney is so magical you just can't stay upset there! :goodvibes

The poor housekeeping manager told me that she had been stuck that week with a hypodermic needle as she was cleaning a room. I am really shocked that people are so careless with needles of any kind. She gave me a big hug and sat with me until I felt better. :goodvibes I wish I had gotten her name because she was really kind to me.

I was so tired last night when I was posting that I forgot my Crystal Palace Bonus Pictures!

You can see my birthday cupcake in this one! They brought it out with a candle and card. :cloud9: It had Mickey sprinkles on it before DS took it! :)

Hi, I'm loving your reviews! We're hoping to eat a lot of the same places in Sept. I have a couple of questions, if you don't mind...

Was Le Cellier pretty-kid friendly? We have a 4 and 2 year old, and I am debating going here because I didn't know how they'd do.

Also, at CHH, when you say you got 2 cakes and 2 apple crisps, were those all on the DDP? I'm kind of confused by kids meal desserts, so I was trying to figure out from yours what came with the meal.

Thanks!

Le Cellier is fine for kids. Our boys have eaten there every year since they were 4 and 6 with no problems. We always bring their Nintendo DS games with us for them to play. We've also used Wikki Sticks, or tic-tac-toe pads - any distraction.

Also, if you go in the summer you may want to take a small blanket. The AC feels great to me, but the boys always get a little cold. I bought two light weight fleece baby blankets from the dollar store to carry in our park bag. They are small and light, but work great at keeping the chill away. :thumbsup2

Our dinner at Crystal Palace was early, and we were staying in MK for EMH. :thumbsup2 So, we needed a snack!

All the boys headed over to ride BTM without me. I've only ridden it once - never again. For me the T does not stand for thunder, I have terrible motion sickness - so I'm sure you can figure it out. ;)

So, I stayed over by Space Mtn. to grab Fast Passes when the machines re-opened for EMH.

While I was waiting I stopped by the LUNCHING PAD for a CREAM CHEESE PRETZEL. This was my first ever, and I have to say it will not be my last!!!!! The outside was a soft, warm, perfect pretzel and the inside was sweet, creamy, yummy, cream cheese. This was so good, but HUGE. If you are not really hungry, you could share this.

Since I was in the fast pass line with no way to throw it away, I ate the whole thing! :woohoo:

YUMMY!

We also used a couple of snack credits for popcorn for the boys. Good as always. But, they have changed the box. It no longer has a fold-over top, so you can't close it up and take it with you. I wish we had only gotten them one to share. Sorry, no picture. :guilty:

MORE DISNEY MAGIC

I'm sure the Housekeeping Manager left this for me. It was waiting on the table when we got back to our room. :goodvibes
