I must admit. I had some serious cupcake envy! :lmao:

OMG that cupcake was GINORMOUS!!!! Thanks for explaining what the crust was like on those tarts!!! I have seen pics of them from time to time (and well @ WDW) but I figured that the crust was like a dry pie crust. :confused3 So it tastes more like a sugar cookie?? I may definetly be trying one now on this trip!

Oh and by the way just finding your dining report and LOVING it!!!:hippie:
Thanks!
The crust does have a flavor similar to a sugar cookie, but it is really hard. It is still very good, but you can't really cut it with your fork. I ended up picking it up and biting it. I've had fruit tulips in the past and I don't remember the crust being as hard on them. Also, they have more filling and the same amount of fruit. I think next time I would try for the fruit tulip, but if they didn't have any I would go with the tart. It was really, really good. :cloud9:

YUM I can't wait to eat at Sci Fi again. We love it there.

Strarring rolls is a fave too! That M and M brownie looks amazing lol!
DS9 said that it was his favorite brownie of the trip, and trust me I think he tried them all. :rotfl:

Sadly I won't be hitting the studios this trip to the world. Anyone know of another location in Disney to find this baking perfection?

Hmmm.... can't help with that one.

Could you stand outside the gate and beg someone to bring one out for you? :lmao:

Your Sic-Fi pics are awesome - I have never really wanted to eat there but got to admit it does look pretty cool.

Love the look of those snacks from Starring Rolls - my DH woud love that peanut butter cake :)

DH and I didn't really want to eat there the first trip either. We really only went because we ran out of TS credits, and it looked like a good place to try OOP - and, we were thinking the kids might like it.

I am SO GLAD we tried it!!! It really is a must-do for us every trip. So far, we've been 4 years in a row (twice the first year), and it has been great (almost) every time.

The first year we went, the boys loved it so much that they talked me into cancelling Marrakesh so we could go back for dinner. Dinner for me wasn't as good, but I don't blame Sci-Fi. We took a 10:00 pm seating because that was all we could get on such short notice. Then, since we were using DDP, we ordered more expensive items from the menu. It was so late DS fell asleep in the "car" before his food got there, and the shrimp was way to heavy to have that late at night. So, I blame us for that one. The food was good, it was just to late to eat it.

They had lots of other stuff that looked just as good. I can't wait to go back!!! :goodvibes

It really was great! :)

OK, on with the show.....

COOKES OF DUBLIN

After spending most of the day at DHS, we made our way to Downtown Disney and Disney Quest. On the way over, we decided to have dinner at Cookes of Dublin.

We enjoyed this meal so much that we returned on our last day for lunch. Since we had almost the same thing both times, I'll just combine them. :)

Once again, I don't have pictures of everything. But, I think you'll get the idea.

My first tip is.... stay FAR away from this place if you are on a diet! :rotfl: Everything we had was nice and crispy and deep fried! I guess the Irish like to eat like us Southerners. :lmao:

DS had the Chicken and Chips. I don't remember how much he ate before I got a photo - sorry. The chicken was nice and moist on the inside and cripsy on the outside. The chips were thick cut potato nuggets that were cooked to a perfect crispness. It came with a honey mustard dipping sauce.

DH had the Original One and One (fish and chips). You get one huge piece of fish on top of a basket of chips. It comes with one cup of tartar sauce. (I found out on the second trip that you can ask for extra without an extra charge. :thumbsup2) The tartar sauce isn't sweet and complements the fish very well. The fish was also moist and crisp. We cut it in half and shared. Even half a piece was a large serving.

DS and I both had the Shrimp and Chips. The shrimp are very large, batter dipped and fried to a perfect light brown. They were really good, but a little greasy (but isn't that why you order them deep fried???). They come with a cup of cocktail sauce. DH and I shared my shrimp as well. On the first trip we got 4 each. On the second we got at least 6 each, so I'm not sure how many you are supposed to get????

Then we finished up with the most sinful dessert of the entire trip....
What do you get when you put a snickers bar on a stick, dip in in batter, deep fry it, and sprinkle it with powdered sugar?....

HEAVEN ON A STICK :cloud9:

The snickers bar melts and becomes a warm, molten, chocolate and peanut center inside the sweet dough. :cloud9:

These are FANTASTIC!!! DS even went back for another one! Honestly, I don't know how he did it. It was wonderful, but very rich. The line was long, but they had a cash only one open with no line. We paid OOP for the second one instead of using a snack credit. Total cost with tax was $3.73.

This is a really good choice if you are looking for a fast meal at DTD. We've eaten at Wolfgang Puck Express in the past, and I have to say it is better - BUT it took twice as long to eat there. AND you can't get a Doh Bar at WPC!
