This was our best day of the whole vacation.

We had a great time at the GF pirate cruise, breakfast at the Poly, then a trip back to the POFQ where we rented a pontoon boat and went for a ride up the Sassagoula River.

It was a fantastic day!
We had an early dinner planned at Tusker House, so we took a bus over to Animal Kingdom. Just as we pulled up to the bus stop it started pouring rain!!! Well, we had to make our ADR, so we suited-up with our ponchos and swam against the stream of people leaving. By the time we got to Tusker House the rain had stopped, but the park had cleared out pretty good.
We checked in at the podium outside the restaurant and waited about 5 minutes before we were called.
TUSKER HOUSE
This was our first time eating here since they switched from a CS. This was the one new place we added to our ADRs this year, and our expectations were not very high. The menu just sounded OK to us.
Boy, were we surprised!!!!! This place was FANTASTIC!

It was our favorite of the week.

At one point the boys decided that it would replace Crystal Palace on our must-do list. As our CM was bringing us refills on our beverages the boys told her that she had beat out Pooh. She looked a little puzzled and said she didn't know they were competing.

They explained, and she was very happy that we were enjoying our meal so much.
This was the one place where I felt really strange taking pictures, so I don't have many. The food station area is very open, so I guess people noticed me more and I was getting some stares.
Anyway, here are the few I got...
Rotissere Chicken and Samosa
I had never had a samosa before, so I don't have anything to compare them to.... but these were wonderful. Crisp, flaky pastry around a spicy center. I had several.
Isn't this COOL? A make your own PB&J station!
And a birthday cupcake for DS
I'm sorry I didn't take more food pictures. This meal was really wonderful. The Seafood Stew with Tamarind BBQ sauce was AMAZING. We all had at least 3 servings of that! It was full of huge shrimp.
Another big hit was the corndog nuggets. DS7 had a whole plate full!
And, not to be outdone.... DS9 had a whole plate full of brownies. (On a side note - the only item he had to aviod due to his cashew allergy was the bakliva.)
This buffet offers something for everyone. I had my fill of hummus and tabbouleh while DH had carved beef top sirloin roast and rotisserie pork loin. The variety of food is perfect.
This is definitely on our must-do list now! Sorry Pooh.
