After reading some great threads lately, I've really been thinking about my past trips to Disney- both Land and World. My question is to all of you- have you ever watched someone do something in the park that made you think "Stop! Don't do that!"
For example- during our last trip to Disneyland in November, I watched a woman in the Main Street train station walk up to an unmarked door and open it. Inside was a cast member office of sorts, and she immediately slammed it shut, realizing what it was.
Anyone have any stories of witnessing guests((or even yourself)) doing things they should not be doing? Walking into off-limit areas? Opening doors? Trying to reach into ride scenes?
All replies appreciated! :)

The things parents let their children do to animals. Bugging the ducks, annoying the birds, freaking out the lizards. In one case, killing a lizard. In the kid's defense he was a toddler; in the mom's defense she had NO idea that he was about to do the horrible thing he did. But it was done. And she grabbed him and ran away, while we kept our tears inside and ran to find a CM so they could get the lizard's body off the path.

I get pretty sicked out by kids at buffets sometimes, which makes me reluctant to do them at Disney World because there are obviously, so many children touching the buffet area. So I would say, don't stick your fingers in the mac and cheese.

Also, don't purposely leave your seatbelt buckled behind you on ToT. Someone did that in another elevator last time we were at DL, and it meant that we had to switch elevators (they were going to take the nutcase off and let the other people ride again, but I guess that affected our ride as well--it was faster, they said, to go to a different elevator.)

That's crazy…and kind of my worst nightmare! Why don't the CMs check the seat belts better? Do they just rely on the computers to tell them that all seats are buckled?

One time this guy that totally was not me was on Tom Sawyer's Island exploring Fort Langhorn and he (again, not me) was enjoying how well-themed it was. He (not me) was opening all of the doors that could be opened when he noticed the powder room. Curious as to what it was he (definitely not me) opened the door and walked into what he realized was the ladies' restroom. Imagine my his surprise!

Again, not me.

Luckily I didn't actually witness this, but my DMIL certainly enjoyed telling me about it. This last summer, my DMIL took myself, my DSILs, and all of our kids on a Disney Cruise/WDW vacation. One of my DSILs has 2 daughters - 4 & 2 at the time - and apparently didn't think to take them to the washroom before heading to the bus stop at the end of their day. Well, the 4 year old really needed to go the the bathroom while waiting in line for the bus... You can guess what happened... When my DMIL told me what happened, I was mortified. She thought it was cute. Had I been there I would not have allowed it and would have taken her all the way to the washroom myself.
So glad my daughter and I missed it. Gross. :crazy2:

Last year when I visited WDW, on POTC, the woman next to me was texting on her cell phone the entire time. It really ruined the ride for me. And then in the Enchanted Tiki Room, a man sitting in front of me answered his cell phone and carried on a short conversation in the middle of the show. I wish Disney would add no use of cell phones when they announce no use of flash cameras or recording devices. People need to be more considerate of others, even if they aren't there to take in the attraction for their own enjoyment.

That ToT picture is insane.

Every single time we are around the Toy Story characters at least one person starts screaming about how Andy (or his Mom) are coming. Not just like say it once and move on, but repeatedly screaming it over and over, getting progressively louder, and sometimes they continue even after CMs tell them Andy is at college. I understand they used fall to the ground (or at least there is a rumor the used to) but OMG have we heard some people get downright obnoxious about it. If I said it once and got no reaction I'd just be embarrassed, but apparently some people have no shame lol.

A couple of years ago we were walking to the main building at CSR. There was an alligator in the lake. A couple of morons decided to go in after it. I found a CM as soon as I could.

On two separate occasions I have seen kids taking money out of the fountains. The first time was outside of Gaston's Tavern. His parents weren't paying any attention and didn't notice that the kid had collected some change as they walked away. The second time was outside American Adventure. This kid who looked about 10 was reaching in and getting lots of coins while his brother egged him on. He showed his mom all the money he was getting and she just laughed. It was at that point that I decided to say something. I had been sitting next to them and asked him if he knew where the money from the fountains went. He said he didn't so I told him about Give Kids the World and how Disney donates the money collected in their fountains to an organization for children with life threatening conditions. Then his mother chimes in that she doesn't think that they will notice a couple of coins missing so that it really doesn't matter. I told her that if she was comfortable teaching her son to take money that is intended for sick children then that was her business and that I hoped she never found herself in a situation where she was the parent of just such a child. Makes me sad. I get that you are probably not even thinking about where they money might be going that is found in fountains, but when someone tells you it is going to a charity and you say taking it is no big deal? That just really makes me sad.

Not just think it-actually said it. There was a duck and her ducklings waddling around Liberty Square. A woman apparently thought the babies were an attraction so she and her children kept chasing them to catch one. I had to get between them and the ducks to tell them to stop.

That is sad. I like to think I'd have made my kid put it back anyway (anyone remember the movie "goonies"? "Those are people's wishes!) but I can understand simply not thinking of where the money goes. It's a shame, however, that after being told, they still didn't care.

I have seen at least once on every trip a small child decide to pick up a piece of delectable snack off the ground and eat it. Definitely wanted to say "Stop That!" in those cases.

ETA: I'm not saying the parents were letting them - I don't think they saw it happening.

This young boy started splashing at the ducks near a fountain. One momma(/poppa?) duck and a couple of babies. It made my heart break. I had just finished breakfast and as I was walking over to him an older gentleman reprimanded him.

Mine is more seagul related. Same thing happens 95% of the time I get a funnel cake. I get it, start walking to a table and a seagul takes it, before I can stop it from happening. I have even put one plate over the other and I put it on the table, get dive bombed and off with the cake.

Parents who put those leashes on their children. They let their kids run around leashed while tripping up others nearby.
