DON'T CRY OR WE'LL RIDE DINOSAUR AGAIN! A Spring Break TR---Final Thoughts 5/5

I am trying to avoid snack food and lose a few pounds and I see the most delicious looking Disney snack. Maybe one will not hurt, that much when I get to Disney, if I start dieting now.

Have a great Friday, you are one Friday closer to Disney.

I often wondered whether or not the boat to DTD was such a great Port Orleans perk. All of the boats that I've been on at WDW move so slow and I don't deal well with slow.

Too bad you weren't wowed by T-Rex. We ate there last August and we all liked it. But, then again, we aren't big foodies and we're pretty easily satisfied.

In all of our trips to DTD, we have never gotten anything other than a slushie at Goofy's Candy Company. After looking at your goodies, I may just have to change that.

I'm with Rachel on the apple - yum!
Even though I fussed about her choosing one of the more expensive treats, I have to admit, that after I tried a bite.................Well, let's just say that I had more than one bite! :thumbsup2

I love WOD! I know I've lost my family in there a few times. :rotfl:
I love it too, but it can be frustrating trying to keep up with everyone. There are so many different rooms, it's almost like your family members have gone to another country.

I completely agree with you about the boat! Last year we stayed at POFQ and took the boat to and from DTD on the first night. It was nice and relaxing but it was soooo slow! In fact, on the way back we had to wait forever for the boat to show up. That was our last time on the boat! :lmao: That's why we primarily drive at Disney and don't take the buses - I hate having to wait for them, especially at the end of the day when you are so tired!
If I'm ever at POR or POFQ again, I think that I will definitely drive to DTD, rather than take that boat. I swear, I think I could walk faster! :lmao:

That's because we eat our lunches every day in a middle school cafeteria! We already get the experience of "dinosaurs" roaring at us! :rotfl:
Well, Jackie, I hate to break it to you, but I'm with MeMom. I don't eat lunch in the cafeteria with kids---Duty-free lunch! You really need to campaign for it at your school! :thumbsup2

Mine would have white chocolate and a million pecans or caramel and a millions pecans. Either one would be wonderful! :thumbsup2

Now I like the sound of that one a whole lot more than those M & Ms that Rachel chose. :thumbsup2

Sorry! ;) You should definitely get one when you get there---Afterall, it's an anniversary trip for you and hubby---Ya'll can share! :lovestruc

Me either, Lisa! I do believe I could walk and get there faster than that boat! :rotfl2:

Yes---you need to order something. :) I will tell you that those apples were huge, so if you wanted, two of you could share.

Duty-free lunch, MeMom and Michelle???

Who watches the kids while they are in the cafeteria?

Who cares?????????? :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:.

;) OK, I hope you know I'm kidding! I guess it's not completely, 100 % duty free for everyone! For us, it used to be that the coaches and administrators did lunch duty. (I guess they weren't too duty-free, were they?)

This year there has been a little change, and teachers were assigned duty for one lunch period, one day a week. So duty free lunch four days a week! :)

I appreciate your opinion on T-Rex. I thought it looks an awful lot like Rainforest Cafe which I am not thrilled about either. I much prefer a quieter meal!!

we never had luch duty when I was teaching, I know my DH doesn't either...I can't imagine giving up those measly 30 minutes to babysit :scared:

We also have duty-free lunch (although I teach high school)... we have coaches who split lunch duty (30 minutes a day, with the other 90 minutes of the lunch period off), and all of our assistant principals are in the cafeteria for the whole 120 minutes.

I guessed right! :cool1: I love everyone's drawings--TFS! It seems like a lot of fun--something I would really enjoy but I do not think that it will happen this go around.

Yummy desserts!! Are they smaller than they look? They seem HUGE!! That apples looks heavenly!! I think that would be what I would go for too. :goodvibes:

I have to say your pictures are beautiful with your new camera!!

Before I retired, I worked in the cafeteria for the last 2 years to build up my annual salary, therefore my retirement pay. I received a free lunch and was paid $8 per day. The discussion in the cafeteria was much better than the discussion in the teachers' lounge!

We have three secretaries/assistants who take shifts, and the principals are in and out. We get the kids through the line, and we leave. Some teachers choose to eat in the cafeteria at a big round table, some head for the teachers' lounge, and some hide out in their own rooms. I fall into the third category. :)

Duty free for me too! It's a new concept for me as at my old school I ate with my 2nd-3rd graders every day. It does build up your ability to "tune" out for sure!:thumbsup2

Our asst. principal and principal are in there most days along with various teacher assts. and all the custodians. We only eat in there with the kids if there is testing and the assts. are proctoring.

Those treats look yummy Michelle! I think I might have to try an apple this summer. Caramel and maybe some m&m's...yummy!

Diabetes on a stick!

I must admit, though, it DOES look yummy!

Hmmm, sounds like we are missing out on the duty-free lunches! Oh, well! I guess there are worse things, but I am a little jealous. ;)

Duty free for me too!

Well, there you have it, the concensus is for duty-free lunch! The only thing better is lunch during June, July, and part of August! ;)

:) Thanks, Stephanie! The animation academy was a lot of fun, but you will probably need to wait until Lilian's a little older.

The desserts were HUGE! Even the rice-krispy treats were big. We all ate on ours for several days.

I am really enjoying my new camera. Can't wait to use it again in 35 days!

So what was the best part? The free lunch, the $8, or the cafeteria gossip?

Add me to the list of teachers with a duty-free lunch. I teach high scholl as well. It seems like most of us are saying coaches and administrators. I hate duty. That's bad considering I only have to do it twice a week.

Michelle, those treats look so yummy. We stayed at POR once. I tried waiting for that boat, but it took entirely too long for it to show up. I was annoyed then. I can't imagine having to ride it too. I had a ressie for T-Rex last summer, but we ended up cancelling it. I kept wondering if I would enjoy myself listening to the roar of the dinos while I ate.
