Don't be late for Epcot Princess Breakfast!

Thanks for the heads up! I don't think we've ever been late for a PS, but it's good to know if we are, we might not get to eat. I had thought they were a little more relaxed than that.

It is a shame that for the sake of 10 minutes this family missed out on their breakfast. PS is not a reservation and many times people are kept waiting by the restaurants.

Well, this past Halloween, thanks to my DH, the king of procrastinating, we were about 5 or 10 minutes late for the RED HOT LTT PS at 5:35p.

There was no problem and they seated us pretty fast too! And we even ran into Jennymouse!;)

I guess it all depends. I try my hardest not to be late for PS but with my DH it's not always possible!

Hi Duck/Fish,
Congratulations! You are in the Dis Yearbook! ;)
The yearbook is on the Community Board and your picture is on page 60. :)

Wow, thanks for the tip Duck/Fish! We're gonna be doing PS in December. I'll make sure the troops are EARLY for this seating!

I think I know what part of the problem may have been. The Norway Breakfast has 2 seating blocks and the first one ends at 9:00 AM. So maybe they were unable to seat them because they needed the break time for the characters or something between the first and second seating.

It is a shame though that they were unable to get thier breakfast. I would have expected Disney to handle that better then they did.

We were almost 1/2 hour late to our PS last October at the Princess breakfast. We had to wait alittle while but they put us in the next seating available. Guess it all depends.

Can you please explain how the seating block works?
It looks like it may be a good idea to try to schedule a late breakfast here. That way you won't have to worry about any problems at the front gate.

There are 2 seatings for this. I suspect it is so the characters can get to each table without going out of order. Or maybe it's has something to do with the wait/kitchen capabilities? I'm not really sure why.

They take 2 blocks of PS requests. the first is 8:30 - 9:00 and the second is 9:50 - 10:20. I remember calling up early in the 120 day reservation period and asking for 9:30, I was told they had a 9:00 so I took that not realizing the reason. Then I read somewhere about the split seating times and called back. I was able to get a 10:00 with no problem.

thanks for heads up. i made 3 ps ressies today for nov stay. can someone tell me which characters will be at the princess breakfast. trying to decide between this one and chef mickey's.;)

I am still confused. Since PS isn't an actual reservation (right), I was under the impression that it just gets you the next available table? Is this not the case? Why didn't they get the next available table, block one or two or whatever?

I would imagine that this was because the second seating was sold out. If they showed up at the end of the first seating, that would have meant that they'd have to wait almost an hour for the second seating. I wouldn't want to be the CM who had them wait an hour to then find that there was no room.

We had ressies at the beginning of a block, and they basically sit the entire restaurant in about a 5 minute period of time. Since it's a character meal, most people stay until they get to see every character, which means that the restaurant is full for 30-45 minutes. I wouldn't be happy if I was rushed through my meal or missed characters because people were given my table when they missed their seating.

I agree that it's too bad that the family missed their chance to experience the PSB Breakfast, but that's why they stress showing up early, and giving yourself plenty of time to make it from the WS Entrance.

The OP in the trip report said that she had not been asked for a credit card guarantee for the PSB, so there was no issue with respect to charging her as a "no-show." I know that I was asked for a CC when I booked for October and told that if we don't cancel within 48 hrs we would be charged the full price for the breakfast.

I know that I will be more than a little upset if we are a few mintues late and they won't give us a table, but charge us for the breakfast anyway!

We have a 10 AM PS and are coming directly from the CR. If we come by monorail, how early should we plan to be at the CR monorail station? Should one member of our party arrive at the PSB extra early just to avoid this problem?

Thanks for your thoughts. -- Suzanne

I would leave around 9:00a from CR. Time for the monorail, and the switch to the Epcot monorail. Then time to walk all the way to the restaurant.

Better early than late as we learned from this thread.

I got a 8:30 PS for the Princess Breakfast at Epcot but the agent didn't seem sure if the monorail would be running that early (we're staying at Poly). Anyone?

Also looking for feedback about Cindy's Dinner at GF. is it easier to get PS there than at the breakfast?

Thanks.

We stayed at the CR early last month and had an 8:30ps at PSB. YES, the monorails are running and will get you there in plenty of time. We got there way too early in fact. We talked to the monorail driver the day before and he suggested being on the CR platform at 7:15. Well, we walked right on the monorail, changed to Epcot one at TTC and walked right on it and were at Epcot gate by 7:45!
They don't let you in until 8:20 if you are on the list.
Since you are staying at the Poly, I guess you can walk to TTC and you may be on the PS list and they will let you in. We did not have to do that part since we exited a monorail and got on the other by it. Or, you could have plenty of time and ride the MK monorail to TTC. Have fun!:D
