With back to school coming up I cleaned out DSs drawers/closet today. Ended up with nine kitchen sized bags which I donated to Goodwill.
Yup my boy is growing up. No longer in the boys dept, he's now in mens.

I just did that through all our closets and the kids drawers. I brought the nicer things to The Children's Orchard and made $76! :) Once they both get back to school I will be doing the same things with their toys...except with them I will be using the black no-see-thru trash bags!

newholiday, It certainly gives you a good feeling to get rid of all those things you can't wear, doesn't it? I have a friend with a DS a couple years younger than my DS so I always give her dibs on what she wants. After that it's either take the rest of them to Goodwill or give them to my church's clothing store.:D

I don't have kids but would just like to say thank you for donating these items and not just throwing them away.

The people on my first floor (in a 3 family home) just threw out bags and bags of infant and toddler clothing.

For many, many reasons , BF and I and our other neighbors on the second floor dislike the first floor people. This just added to it since most of the clothes had tags on them still.

Anyway, our landlord (who lives next door...he owns several homes on the street) came by before we had a chance to grab the bags, and he went through them, picked out what he could salvage and donated it to a church up the street.

How people can throw away perfectly good clothing that another child in need could use is just beyond me. But then, most of what the first floor family does doesn't shock me anymore.

Sorry for the rant & thank you for thinking of others and not just tossing old clothing out. ::yes::

I hate ridding rid of clothing without giving it to someplace that can use it. I usually take some to a consignment shop to get some $$ back. This rest I take to our county's Help Center that has a store for underpriveldged people to some and "shop" for free for what they need.
