Donald's Safari Bkfast ... would you go back???

YUP! Food choices were great, character interaction was also great! Service was not terrible, very friendly, just a bit slow, and the place gets loud and crowded..other than that LOVE! On our must do list for next time!

No, i would not dine there again. I did not care for the food on the breakfast buffet. The character interactions were also rushed.

Crystal Palace and Cape May breakfast were much better - food and character intereraction.

We went to WDW before thanksgiving and i have to say for the amount of money that it costs i was dissapointed in the dining experience at disney. We have went to disney twice before and was very pleased on these past trips with WDW dining. But not so much this trip. Cape May breakfast was our best meal and we enjoyed crystal palace breakfast. LeCellier was decent but not worth the money when paying cash. As far as Quick Service is concerned its hard to beat Earl of Sandwich. Wish we had one locally.

We loved Tusker House!! It was our OOP meal last year and we will go back for sure!!

Plus, DD loves Daisy!!

its our favorite. Great food and great character interaction. This is on our "always do" list

Donald's Safari Breakfast is wonderful. There was a good selection for food choices. Characters were great--we went during Free Dining and slow season and they weren't rushed at all. Coffee was surprisingly good--jungle juice excellent!!!
If you want an additional Character Breakfast that's just as good or better--
I would say "Lilo and Stitch Best Friends Breakfast" at the POLY. My DH loves this breakfast--he want's to eat here again next trip. It is so much fun and it's served Family style (all you can eat) and they bring the food to you. Can't go wrong with either places. Have a fun trip!!

Just got back. Loved the food. Get a member of your party to excuse themselves and hop over to Safari ride to get fastpast. Took my 13 yr old 3 minutes!!

Today I am teaching persuasive writing and reviews with the 3rd grade class I am subbing in. They will help me add constructive details to my review:)

We would definately go back! We really liked the food. The kids (and I) got a kick our of the Mickey waffles. Even though you had to pay for the pictures of Donald, they came out really well and we had a great family portrait. My son thought the conga line with Daisy was lots of fun. Overall, the food and fun were plentiful.:dance3:(the kids wanted me to add this.)

You better believe we would go back. The food, atmosphere, and the juice :lmao: are amazing. One of the best breakfast buffets I have ever had.

We were just at Tusker House for the first time during the week of Christmas and we will not return and here is why:

Too loud
Very un-organized (9:15 adr not called till 9:50, ours was 9:30 and we were called at 9:45)
Confirmed with CM it is always like this!
No autograph with Donald
Photopass Pic with Donald that must be purchased.
Food was cold and tasteless
Too Big , if in back room it is a long way to the food! If you miss a character because of bathroom or getting food they will not be back till next round(about an hour)

What we did like:
Characters were excellent and the most attentive compared to Chef Mickeys.

We have had several other character b-fast that are much better food and atmosphere and will not waste our time or $$ on this one.

But, I have to say that opinions have made me cancel ADR's and then on another trip we have tried it and loved it so, My advise is to try it and see you may really like it.

we will go back! DS is a huge Donald fan. and we prefer it over Chef Mickey's. the food is much better.

when we were there, they took a picture before the meal, but it did not include Donald. he greeted us at our table. :confused3 i would've loved to have a family picture with him.

We just did this last month. I would go back. The primary reason is that I LOVED getting into Animal Kingdom before it opened. Our ADR was for 8:25 am but we arrived at AK by bus from AKL about 7:50 am and joined the group of no more than 40 persons with Tusker House breakfast reservations. A cast member came out a few minutes later and checked names off of her list. One family could not be located on the list and that slowed things up for us a bit because they were the second family ahead of us. The CM finally let them use their KTTW cards to enter AK and we checked in and were allowed to enter. We were all free to walk back to TH on our own. DH & I were seated 20 minutes BEFORE our ADR time. The photographer with Donald will also use your camera but cut a bit off the top of our heads with my camera. Naturally he got a great shot for purchase but we did not purchase the package. If we had kids with us maybe we would have.

I thought the food was a notch above just good.

The character interaction was rushed compared to Crystal Palace or O'Hana at the Polynesian (my other experiences with character meals.) Our waitress offered to take a photo for us; she was a poor photographer. Then the gal of the nice couple sitting next to us offered to take photos for us when the characters came around. Those photos didn't turn out well either. I think because we were off in the side room but under very bright lights it just messed up the automatic part of my camera. Out of more than 1000 shots taken that week, TH was the only place where all of our shots are poor.

We could have walked right onto the safari ride after breakfast but did not think it was a good idea with our full stomachs so we got FP instead. We got a lot of other stuff done at AK that day with our early non-crowded start.

Another resounding YES from our family. We had excellent character interaction, the food was hot and plentiful, and we had an attentive server. We always go during the low season, so it was not crowded. We bought the photo package as well and keep one photo on our fireplace mantle.

We would not return to O'hana, Crystal Palace, or Garden Grill for character meals.

Good luck!

A lot if good to know information:goodvibes

Does anyone have any other suggestions for a character breakfast that could possibly be better if you were not a fan of this one???

haha.... you asked the same question I was going to. :thumbsup2

to answer the OP question..... yes, we would go again.... and plan to!
We went to TH-Donald's Breakfast 3 years ago when it was fairly new and we LOVED IT!!
DD (she was 16 yrs old at the time) said it was her new favorite! So for our upcoming trip in May I asked her where she wanted to eat and this was the first one she mentioned!
We both love Ohanas and Cape May too! Even though Crystal Palace is great to get you into MK early and if you like Pooh it's great. But it's our least favorite. It doesn't have a very homey feeling.... too wide open and loud.
I think they all have slightly different experiences. :thumbsup2

We are trying to decide to go back or not. DD#1 wants to try Ohana BF and DD#2 and DS are in LOVE with OSO so we will be doing H&V for them as well. We really enjoyed Tusker House our last visit but I'm just not sure. The seating is literally right on top of eachother, very tight. Very loud, lively place. The food is excellent though. The variety and when we went it was very fresh. I'm just not sure if we are going to do it again as opposed to trying something new. I would say its better than Crystal Palace.

I second the comment about riding the safari ride after eating there though LOL.

We will be going for the first time when we go in September. I hope it is as good as I have been hearing. Can't wait!!:cool1:

We would go back in heartbeat! Great food, great service, and lots of interaction with the characters.

We love TH and Goofy! But, go early......get the earliest time available. It's great walking back with it so empty.....not as great at CP in MK, but cool just the same.

We also really like Ohana's breakfast with Stitch....my DD8 picked TH for this trip.

CP has Pooh and Friends....my DD8 feels she has outgrown this one....but I still love it.
