Donald's Defiant Dashers Team Challenge

Hi, team...

I did Ironman Canada last weekend. It didn't really come off as planned...it took me about 2 hours longer than I hoped. Still trying to figure it out. A bit disappointed, but also proud of the fact that I didn't quit.

Will write a nice RR this weekend, I hope.

Thanks for the cheers!!

Betsy, I looked up the results for the race and would have to say that you did phenominal. I know you made all of us here on WISH proud (and some of us envious) of your accomplishment. So it took you a little longer to cross the finish line. You persevered and didn't quit! You are such a WINNER!!! Congratulations!

My time and hours were ok this week but I am still having some issues at work that are preventing me to get in my training. Nevertheless, I am motivated by what I am starting to see in the mirror for my results so I will keep it up. So without further delay, here are my results.

Miles - 105
Hours - 11.5

On another note, we have several WISH and DIS members that are very worried about a fast approaching hurricane. The professionals are comparing it to Katrina and we all remember that one, I'm sure. If we can, in our own way, let's take a moment to say a prayer for minimal or no damage and absolutely no more loss of life from this storm.

I am going to try to report my time early next week as on Friday, I am getting on a plane to head out to California for the weekend. I just wish I would have time in my schedule to be able to make a stop at DL.

Have a great weekend everyone!
Bryan:cheer2:

Bryan...thanks so much...
You have been one of my biggest cheerleaders all year and that means so much to me. :goodvibes
hugs!

Hello 3D's! Hope everyone is enjoying their last weekend of the summer. I did 152 miles of regular cycling, and also did a 20 mile bike race, so that will bring the total to 192. Hours is 10 plus 15 minutes.

Congratulations, Betsy, on finishing the Tri!

Here is hoping those in the Southeast weather the storm safely.

One word: AWESOME!!!!!

Miles for the past week for me include a new twist - I have added a 15 minute break at work where I can walk (briskly) a nice loop that is exactly one mile.

Walk 4 miles in 1 hour
Run 26.1 miles in 3:32
Weights 1 hour

Have a great Labor day all.

Mike "GG" B

Wow the weeks keep passing by quicker then I can keep up!! At least I am still getting out there and getting my miles in.

8/8-8/14 - 21 miles (14 run/7 bike) 3 hours 55 mins
8/15-8/21 - 15 miles 3 hrs 28 mins
8/22-8/28 - 18 miles 4 hrs 23 mins

Everyone is doing GREAT!!!!

Betsy: You are awesome!!! and a real inspiration!

Samsam: congrats on you daughter's wedding. I hope it was perfect.

Bryan: Congrats on seeing results and keeping yourself motivated.

Mike/GG: WTG on finding a way to work out during the work day. I really need to get a better schedule in place -- seems working out is always the first thing to go when life spins out of control.

Ahoff: where do you do all that biking? I have a lot of biking groups that ride out near me on weekends (including some big groups like Team in training that sort of take over the road), and it can be a little intimidating for those of us just out for a casual ride. So I'm always on the lookout for new spots and adventures . . .

Sorry if i missed anyone/anything. Still getting back into the swing of posting. Keep up the good work, all!!!

As for me, last week was "meh" (as my 13 yr old would say). I was trying to keep stuff to a minimum so my foot would heal before the Disneyland races, and for the most part it worked. So more yoga, cross-training stuff, a little biking, not a lot of pavement pounding. My miles for this week will be better, of course.

for the week ending 8/28:
320 minutes
14.5 miles

stay safe all in Gustav's path!

Big Vic...Here are my late totals for the last 2 weeks of August. All the travel (race and work) has got me behind again. ;)

For the week of Aug 15-21 (taper week, so not too much):

Swim: 2.3 miles/1:50 hours
Bike: 23 miles/1:35 hours
Run: 10.1/2:05 (oh, that includes a 10K race, so total miles is 16.3)

Total: 41.6 miles/5:30 hours

For the week of Aug. 22-31:
Swim: 0.7/:30 hours
Bike: 14.1 miles/1:05
Run: 0.9 miles/:10

RACE: 2.4 mile swim/112 mile bike/26.2 mile run/shuffle/walk = 140.6 miles, DOUBLED is 281.2 MILES in 16:05 hours

Total for last week of August: 296.9 miles/17:50 hours:goodvibes

Working on my RR from the Ironman.
Thanks to all for the support! :thumbsup2

Wow, some big mileage there, Betsy! Great job!

Since there are predictions of a big storm coming this way I do not expect to be riding tomorrow, so I will submit my mileage for this week. I biked 140 miles in 8.5 hours.

Hope everyone has a great week! Stay dry!

Hey guys! Between my vacation and then getting sick I've been AWOL for almost 2 weeks. You have all racked up some impressive numbers while I've been gone! Great work.

I, on the other hand, have nothing to add to our totals. At WDW I had hoped to get at least one run in, but since my husband was not there with us it was just me and the 4 kids, and that turned out to be impossible. I'm sure I walked LOTS of miles, but that can't really be counted since it was at 7-year-old pace.

And then I came home and promptly got sick for 4 days. But I am back, and will have a good week to report next week.

Betsy - I am so impressed by your Ironman! Great job on completing it!

Everyone else - stay safe, stay dry, and keep up the great work!

Weekly total after "racing" (really just in my head) a half marathon by myself this morning (this also includes an official 5K from Friday night):

Total miles run = 41 (upping the training for the Goofy starting now)
Total time = 5hours and 12mins

Walk (my at work daily break) 4 miles in 60 mins

Weights = 60 mins.

Good training all,

Mike "GG" B

What a great team! Some of the mileage I see is pretty impressive.:goodvibes

Captain, here are my totals for the week ending Sept. 4.

340 minutes 16.2 miles walking & cross training

Vic, I don't know if you received my totals for last week. (I hadn't had a chance to look at the spreadsheet since I got back.) In case you didn't, I had 95 miles and 10 hours of training.

Team We only have a couple of more days before we are suppose to turn our numbers in for this week. How are we doing? Are we keeping our motivation up? Are we staying excited about we are trying to do here or are we getting tired? Think about it for a minute. We have a chance to do somthing that is really unthinkable! As a team, if we stay at the pace that we have been able to set for ourselves, we can break the 20,000 mile mark in 11 months!! To quote Smokey and the Bandit, "We are doing something that they said can't be done!". We have 3.5 months to go to achieve such a feat. I just want to know, can we do it?

You guys are soo awesome! You really know how to motivate me and each other. Let's keep it up and finish out strong!

Have a great week everyone!!!

Wahoo! We will do it!!!

Hey team, I had a good week! 9 mile long run, 4.5 mile tempo run, and 3.5 mile hill work out. Total time was 3 hours. Great workouts and I feel wonderful. I have drill this weekend and a long run scheduled. If I can get my butt out of bed at 3:45 or so, I'll get my 10 miler in before driving to my armory.

Ahoff I will try to PM you with the logo so you can have it. Can't promise anything as I haven't tried to do that before but I will try.

Big Vic Sorry for being a day late but I do see that I am not the only one running a little behind. I do hope everyone had a great week, both personally and physically. So with that being said, here are my numbers.

Miles - 106.25
Hours - 11.5

Come on TEAM! Let's make a statement!!

Bryan

Didn't get too many miles in, but had some awesome cross-training.

Week ending Thursday, Sept. 11.

450 minutes 14.2 miles

Keep up the great work team.:thumbsup2

Yup, I'm behind too.

My numbers for last week:
Miles (all running): 18.74 (wow - I think that is the most I have run in a week!)
Time: 230 minutes

I am trying to get up my motivation for my 5-miler today, but the heat and humidity have returned and I am not looking forward to it. I'm sure I'll end up getting out there, maybe later in the day.

My first half marathon is 1 week away, and I am getting very excited!

Great job everyone! Let's break 20,000!

Here are my numbers for the week:

Run 30.45 miles with a long run of 14 thrown in on Saturday - total time is 4 hours 10 minutes.

Walk - including a walking the Cross Country course (4 K) for the team I coach - 6 miles in 1 hour 30 minutes.

Great week and Great training all,

Mike "GG" B
