way to go Carissa!
Me too! Gloucester twp...looking for someone to run with once a week if ur intersted & in the area!
I finished my first race! Completed the 5k in 38:44 (my Garmin time - don't know my official time yet). That is more than 2 minutes faster than my previous fastest 5k time.
Thanks to everyone who has cheered me on along the way.I had the best cheerleaders today!
Now I have two weeks to get ready for my 10k!

Great Job!!![]()
Way to go and on to the next!!![]()
SURE! My schedule is pretty crazy with working full-time & going to night class 3x's per week.
But I'd love to run with you on a Saturday or Sunday. I'm by Rowan University.
I didn't do the Detroit half marathon today, the registration was closed out on Saturday. Debbie walked the half today and knocked 5 minutes off her time from last year. I have found out I prefer to run an event than be a spectator, it was freezing, dark and a little tiring just standing around watching other people run. I think I want to try this next year, except this event is a little hardcore, 3 people died from heart failure last year and Debbie saw a women getting CPR 2 miles into the race. I read she is in critical condition.
I ran 4 miles on Thursday doing the 5-1 run/walk and I think I like this Galloway method, I will keep giving it a try.
Hi everyone, I hope you all had a good weekend.
Nice job on the 5K, Carissa!

Hey Dan have you tried running in your Vibrums yet? I tried a pair on while at Hilton Head and I didn't like how they felt.
Well have a great week everyone.
Joe
Thanks for the welcome! I was @ Boma so I guess we must have met. Where were you sitting? Good luck on the duathalon!![]()
Yes, I remember now. You were down by Joe and Deb, I was at the other end across from Frank. (was hoping some of his speed would rub off!)
Carissa, great job on your 5K! Good luck on your upcoming 10K!
I had a nice duathlon yesterday. Have almost broken into the sub hour time, did a 1:01:52. I will have to work on the changing of shoes! I did win my age group, but was talking to the second place finisher in the next higher bracket, and he was under an hour. There are some fast old guys out there!

A usual duathlon is a 2 mile run, 10 mile bike, and another 2 mile run. Sometimes the distances will vary somewhat, I did one in Central Park and the bike was 12 miles, because it was two laps of Park Drive. There are two types here, one on the road and the other in the woods, requiring a mountain bike. I have heard of some tris where they substitute the swim for an equivelent run, so the swimmers and runners sort of finish around the same time.

WHAT???
Joe, you have officially freaked me out about doing a marathon (and I'm already registered for Disney's full!)
Why is that event that you just did so hard core that caused 3 people to die? PLEASE tell me the Disney one is different! (Lie if you have to)
So Joe, how's your toe?![]()
Btw Ducks, what kind of water carrying gear does everyone use? I've been using an Amphipod belt, but the dang bottles keep falling out. It's just a pain to get them in the clips just right. I even lost one. It fell off the back & I did't even notice. Thinking of trying a Nathan.
