Yup - 10 years at some point this year. I think Sully was only a few months old when we met.
Liz has been my inspiration to start running and I'm looking forward to having all of the running veterans around for support. And to take this journey with any other newbies who might be around (hoping I'm not the only one).
Hello Ducks!
I was delighted to get assigned to this team since my good friend Liz is here!
Hello to the rest of you. It'll take me a while to get to know everyone.
I am new to the W.I.S.H. board. I registered to run the half-marathon at WDW next January and just started the C25K program in January. I'm currently on week 3 and going strong.I'm also planning on running a 5K later in the year (can't do one before August because my husband is deployed until at least July and we have no friends or family here to watch our boys) and a 10K at the end of October.

I'm so glad to see you are on the ducks! I saw your request to be on the team, read part of your TR, and was going to suggest you join us!Love your style! Glad you were put with us! I am a newbie, too! Welcome!
Oh . . . and what is letterboxing?
Oh wow! I was wanted!![]()
Here is a link to my blog and the article I wrote about letterboxing:
Letterboxing 101
If you're familiar with geocaching, it's a similar activity.
LOVE the concept. I checked and there are actually many boxes in my area! Who would've thunk it?!
I can't wait to check it out but will have to wait until the 2 foot + melts!
My DS5 just clicked on those dancers . . . they have little to do with my post.
Letterboxing is great for getting outside and finding new places. Many are in areas with hiking trails and I'm looking forward to doing runs in those kinds of places.
Oh - you must leave near where I used to live. Aren't you getting more snow tomorrow?![]()
Carissa~ Check out this site:
http://www.jeffgalloway.com/training/walk_breaks.html
See the ratios they have listed there for the run/walk? Maybe that would work for you. So if you normally run at a 15 min per mile pace, you would do the run for 30 seconds and walk for 45 seconds plan. You could modify that to your liking and change it as needed during the 5K. Maybe double the time sometimes to 1 min run/1.5 min walk. Or slow it down to 30 sec/1.5 min or 1 min/3min. You want to do a pace that will get you to 3.1 miles feeling good (I would not worry about time).
