Hey Ducks!
I haven't been in the pond as much as I'd like, but I've been lurking in the reeds on side, reading, and keeping up with y'all.
After my week-long vacation in WDW after the W&D Half, I went home just in time for my Mom to fly down for the Thanksgiving holiday. After stuffing ourselves with bird and all the funny foods that go along with the holiday, Mom and I packed up and boarded the Disney Magic in Galveston, Texas, and went on a 7-day cruise! Ports included Grand Cayman, Costa Maya, and Cozumel. We stayed on the ship at Costa Maya since the port time was short and Mom was tired from our excursion the day before in Grand Cayman. We had a fantastic time! This was our cruise for both of us (and I can assure you, it won't be my last!). I especially enjoyed the days at sea, when absolutely nothing was expected of me (well, except whatever Mom needed

). I managed to run over 15 miles on the ship during the week, too, including a 10K run.
Anyhoo, got back on dry land on 1 December and have been working at catching up with life-in-general ever since. I ran 8 miles this past weekend, so I'm on track for the Tinkerbell Half in January. Kudos to you Goofy's. I remember my marathon training days as I read your posts. Aaah, to be young and pain-free again!
Another accomplishment this week: On Sunday morning, I was out running just a bit later than usual (as it was cooler), and I saw Tinkerbell (the guy in my neighborhood who runs and bikes in a tutu) on his bike! Not that I'll ever play Fashion Police, I noticed he was wearing a festive red leotard and a bright pink skirt. Oooh, it clashed badly! But just as I was finishing with my mental assessment of his outfit, I looked up, and our eyes met, and he smiled at me, and said hello! A real first for us. A breakthrough! Of course, I reciprocated with a grand smile and a friendly hello. Maybe this is the start of a...strange friendship. In all sincerity, I do wish for peace and joy in this man's life, however he so chooses to live it. It takes all kinds to make this world go round and I'm happy that he's in mine.
Welcome to the new Ducks in the pond!

You'll find the waters are friendly here (well, except for the Duck drops on the Tower of Terror on any given race weekend when two or more Ducks are present).
To all the January Marathon Weekend runners: Keep up the great training! You're almost there!
