Donald Duck?

Found out last week its very hard to find any merchandise with Donald Duck. Two locations had xxl shirts and one was in Animal Kingdom gift shop by Dinosaur and the other was in the Contemporarys's gift shop. My 11 year old son wanted a shirt but he can maybe wear a adult small but thats about all. The CM's told us that they are fazing him out, wonder why?

I cannot imagine that they are phasing out Donald - he's one of the fab five.

Same here; I saw a few t-shirts at MouseGears but I really wanted something like a golf shirt with a really angry Donald on it.

I personally doubt how privy the CMs really are to merchandising decisions, but I do wish they would maybe cut back on the shelf space for Mickey's private Build-A-Bear some for a little more Donald stuff.

Ah well, the whole park seems to be one big promotion for the Disney Vacation Club anyway.

It has been like that for as long as I can remember. I know for years I have struggled to find Donald merchandise - or at least in the same variety as the other characters - in the Disney Store. I have asked about it and the answer is usually that they sell less Donald merchandise than they do of the other members of the Fab Five. I noticed because of the Fab Five, Donald has always been my favorite.

I refer to Duffy. I don't know the whole story of how all the Disney gift stores ended up full of their own teddy bear with his own line of clothes and costumes, but since my DD already has two Build-a-Bears with big wardrobes (including lots of Disney costumes) I wasn't excited to see her get interested in a similar merchandise line from Disney.

My guess is Disney sells less of Donald than the others, because they have hardly anything of Donald out there!

I was disappointed. I really thought I would find a wider variety of Donald Duck merch. in Disney.

I collect Donald Duck items (thus, my user name...). I did find two or three Donald watches on Main Street last time -- but wasn't thrilled. I have several Donald watches from years past. I have dozens of Donald shirts (some from the parks). I'm going to WDW for my 40th bday and my son's 5th in October. I will be REALLY UPSET if I can't find Donald stuff -- I have noticed he's more and more just included with the Fab Five and not much on his own. This makes me one VERY ANGRY DUCK!

I've bought my watches at Sir Mickey's in DHS. They have a better selection of ts too. Mexico has Gran Fiesta Tour shirts with Donald, Jose and Panchito. The shop outside of Philharmagic has several. I actually have better luck at outlet stores in Kissimmee when I have a car. As far as the Fab 5, Pluto has the least merchandise. As far as phasing DD out, those cms are fuller of carp than a bus load of American tourists after a weekend in Tijuana. With the increased interest in Daisy , there at some point will be an influx of Donald/Daisy stuff.

The most Donald merch was in the Philharmagic gift shop, although all of their shirts were xxl. They were huge! A CM even offered to go in the back but there was no other sizes. I came away with small stuffed Donald that sits on my desk. I wish I could find a meet and greet with him in his sailor outfit. Is there one out there?

There's one shirt on the disney store website in the boy section. There's also a section on the disney store to make your own tee that has Donald. I wonder if they have Donald things at the Make a Tee store in DTD?

It bums me out too, but I do love those hats with his little feet sticking out. If you notice, he's generally harder to find for M&G than the other "Fabs" as well....I never have trouble finding Goofy and Pluto, but Donald Duck is sometimes a little sneaky.

PP, if you mean his original blue costume, definitely yes. Before Toontown closed he would always meet there in his outfit. On our last trip we saw him in his original outfit just outside of Philharmagic. We've seen him at the front of Main Street in his classic rags, and at the character spot in Epcot he's in his original outfit. We've EVEN seen him at the front of the hat in HS!
