What is the difference between a "lake" & "resort" view room? Does one face towards EPCOT? What is this view labeled as? If I book a room now, can I change it when the discounts become available? Is this the resort that closer to the Yacht Club? If you've stayed there, how was it? Would you stay again? Do any of the rooms that face EPCOT have balconies? Can you do the MYW package with the Dolphin/Swan or is that just for Disney owned resorts? Do you prefer one over the other?

We have stayed at both hotels. I can't answer all your questions, but I can tell you that we like both of them. The Dolphin has 2 "oversized" doubles, while the Swan has 2 queens. They claim that the Dolphin beds are only one inch narrower than a queen, but I think we slept better on the queens at Swan (maybe it's psychological!). The heavenly beds are very comfortable - I especially like the down pillows!
I would still stay at both hotels again. It just would depend where we could get the better rate!
We love the closeness to Epcot/BW and the many restaurants to choose from.

Do you book The Dolphin through CRO -Disney? I was wondering if you can use AP rates & who you book thru? Thanks

Both Swan and Dolphin have sides that face EPCOT. Some of the rooms have balconies & some don't. They have like a pattern design where they sort of checker-board with the balconies. I think the difference between the Lake & Resort views are that the Lake View is the one where it overlooks Cresent Lake & that is also the EPCOT view (on some of the room). The other would be overlooking other resort areas. As far as changing your rate, I am not sure if they allow you to do that. What you can always do is if a lower rate comes out & they don't allow you to change it, just book with the lower rate, then cancel the other (only after you have the confirmation number of the lower rate room!). I have stayed at the Swan & would stay again if the price was right but I do like the Disney Resorts much better & they run the same price (sometimes). I didn't like the long narrow hallways in the Swan, I think that was my biggest problem with the resort. They had a cold feeling to them. As far as the packages, I do think that they are just for Disney Resort Guests. Hope this helps pirate:

We called S/D directly. Calling CRO, they told me there were NO AP rates available, then I called S/D reservations, and they beat CRO rates, PLUS I got the AP rate.

Does the new magic express go to the Dolphin?
