Trying to decide between Swan and Dolphin for trip this summer. Leaning towards Swan because I read that the room renovations were completed. Does anyone have suggestions for room requests for fireworks view?

My kids like Dolphin better, but I haven't heard anything about when they will be thru with renovations. We arrive July 31st. Anyone have info on this?

Thanks in advance. This board is a fabulous source of information (and inspiration!)

I'm also going for the first time this summer. What room requests should I make for best view of fireworks?

We stayed at the Dolphin last August and the Swan at Christmas. We prefer the Dolphin overall as a resort but the rooms at the Swan were much better! The beds were larger and the beds we had at the Dolphin were in very bad shape. The last I heard, they had not even begun refurbishing the rooms at the Dolphin. I am struggling with the same decision right now as well. After all, you can walk over from the Swan to get to anything at the Dolphin. If I had to make a pick today it would probably be the Swan.

This is what I've found so far on room info for the Swan:

"The preferred room locations for me at the Swan are the rooms on the top floors facing towards the BW, and the Epcot globe. some have balconies, some do not. Call and check with a reservation associate, and ask specifically for the "Epcot" view, then ask for your other preferences, like balcony, # & type of Bed, etc."

The Swan is supposed to be finished with renovations in May and then they start on the Dolphin. I believe the renovations on the Swan began in February so perhaps it will take about the same amount of time for the Dolphin -- 4 months? Just a guess.

I'm considering the Swan because of the recent renovations even though I've read that the Dolphin is more kid-oriented.

The renovations at the Swan started at least last fall. When we were there in December, they had done up through the 6th floor working from the bottom up.

We just returned from the Swan last week. I would choose the Swan beds over any other, bar none. The are the beds you can only dream of. They are the most comfortable beds ever made. The 12th floor is under renovation as of last week. We were placed on the 10th floor close to the evelator. We had a view of the front of the hotel and MGM. We could see Fantasmic lights from our room.

I would choose the SWAN beds over anything else.

The Swan will be completed minus some of the big suites by early May. The Dolphin is sced. to start in June and continue through the first quarter of 2004.
