Only staying on-property for 2 nights in Feb. With the new discounts we can get WL for about $40 cheaper per night. We know Dolphin is great for Epcot and HS and WL is great for MK. We have DD's 7 and 10. Is Dolphin worth the $80 more?
Thanks for your opinions.

:) To me ( I have stayed at Swan) WL has the Disney vibe, theming and the kids will be amazed at the lobby, fireplace, creek in the floor of the hotel, totems, etc. Swalfin is just a great hotel. If you were going in Oct from F&W it would be the other way around. Plus the kids will like the boat from the resort to MK.

OMG!!! WL all the way....there is no way I'd pay more to stay at the Dolphin, but I also wouldn't stay at the Dolphin. :goodvibes

I'd do WL if it's cheaper. It's really got the Disney feel.

I do like the Swan and Dolphin alot and I love the location, but I usually get prices just above moderates to stay there.

We just had a similar dilemma...except it was costing us a little more for WL than the Dolphin. We chose WL, so you know my vote!

Another vote for WL! I only stay at Swan/Dolphin when it is cheaper than a WDW resort. Have a great vacation!

We love the Dolphin (just checked out on Thursday), but if I could get WL cheaper, I'd jump on it! It's a beautiful resort.

WL.

Swan/Dolphin do not magical Express to/from the airport so would need to factor in that for the prices. Also the buses share with Boardwalk and Beach Club for AK, MK, DTD and they get very crowded and can have very long waits!

Def WL! One of my favorites!! And it's cheaper? Bonus! Lol If they were reversed I would have paid that little extra to do WL, also :)

WL, especially if it's $80 cheaper. Just had a great trip at the Dolphin but also got a GREAT rate there compared to the other BW resorts AND WL.

Wilderness lodge is amazing. It has such an awesome atmosphere and grounds. We always stay there part of the time when we go as it is our favorite of all the resorts. The Lobby is spectacular and the craftsmanship amazing. The dolphin seems just to be a beautiful hotel.

As much as we love the Dolphin, I'd do the WL if it was the same or cheaper, especially with your 2 kids' ages. WL has much better theming and will be a lot of fun for your family. As another poster said, the Dolphin is a good choice if you're doing F&W at Epcot (that's where we're staying in about 2 weeks for a F&W weekend).

We had a terrible experience at the Dolphin, and I honestly can't recommend it to anyone. Our room was filthy, our toilet paper and towels repeatedly weren't replenished, and our maid was rude and offensive. I'm still ticked off about that stay.

I love the Swan and Dolphin, and just returned from the Swan 3 days ago. I prefer the location of the Epcot resorts, but would be willing to stay at WL again at a lower price.

Looking at just the resorts, I would definately choose the WL, particularly if it is cheaper! I've stayed at both, and had great trips both times, but as far as the resorts go I liked the WL so much better. We payed considerably less at the Dolphin than the WL, but it was years ago that we stayed at the Dolphin. My only caveat is if you would prefer to be walking distance to Epcot and DHS - then I would put some more consideration into the Dolphin. Reading your post it sounds like that isn't a priority, so I still say WL! I love it there -in fact I got married there! :thumbsup2
