dolphin encounter or swim? HELP!

I tried to reserve the Swim for 4/25 and was told it is already sold out so I have settled for the Encounter. Is it worth it? My DS is disappointed and now doesnt even want to go. Help??? Deb :confused3

We were probably in the water for about 25 minutes. My kids 13, 11, 9, & 6 really liked it. Our trainer was very funny and I think that added a lot to the experience. I think the swim is about the same amount of time because they book in groups and when the next group comes the encounters and swims are done at the same time.

We did the Royal Swim in Cozumel. It was great. My kids wanted to do it again. We booked it by ourselves(125 per person). It is worth it. you can go into the water with the dolphins instead of petting them. We took a taxi to and from the place without any problems. I highly recommend it. Book soon it sells out quickly. If they say it is sold out call again and again. We had to try a few times. I think what they do is keep booking small groups and when they have enough it opens up. When we got there, they let us add another person to our group

We were in the water with the dolphins too - yes you did stand on a platform but it was in the water and we felt in the dolphins mouth, gave them a kiss, danced with them, hugged them. It was not just a quick swim by pat on the top of the dolphin.

Deb,

I thought that the Encounter was amazing. DD was not a strong enough swimmer to do the Swim, which I would have rather done. However just to be so close, and to be able to touch and interact with these marvelous creatures is amazing. I can't imagine that anyone would not enjoy the Encounter. Maybe your DS can do the swim another time! Or you can always ask if there is a space available for the swim when you get there...maybe a cancellation or no show?

Either way, have a great time!

Stacy

Thanks everyone. Actually, one of my friends just dropped off her video of her family Encounter. They loved it but she said she spent a fortune on pictures and the video. I am going to show the stubborn and spoiled :love2: DS the video tomorrow and hope that he changes his mind about not going on the swim!!
