I have found that Dollar and Avis have better rates. With the different promo codes and on line booking I have only used National once in my 15 visits to Disney. Our normal rental is 9 - 10 days.

Dollar and Avis are also at the airport.

You can get some better rates on Hertz, Alamo, etc if you like taking the shuttle buses. I think it takes to much time.

I certainly keep a check on the websites.

I have always had the best rates from National, but then, my husband is an Emerald Isle customer, so that might be why. In December we got a mid size for 10 days with a $79/week rate.

I've got no brand loyalty at all -- I check every company and take the cheapest. (After all, a dollar saved is a dollar to spend at WDW ) As soon as I've made my DVC ressie, I get online & check prices, and reserve the cheapest. About every month I check again. If I find a cheaper deal, I cancel the original and make another reservation. The last month I check at least weekly. On one vacation, the prices were dropping daily, and my best price was the day before we left

It helps to start looking as soon as your room is booked, since usually the prices start going up about 6 months in advance. My May ressie at Sanford Airport (made in Sept 00) is $202 for 12 days, but the current prices are in the mid-$300 and up range.
