Dollar Prepay?

Anyone ever prepay with Dollar? I usually steer clear of the prepay option, but today on Dollar I found a prepay rate for 8 days (the lock low & go) for $98 including taxes. The cancellation terms say the following:

"What is your cancellation policy for fully prepaid or part-paid bookings?

If you cancel 48 hours prior to your pick up, you will be refunded in full."

So I'm wondering...

1. How long it actually takes them to refund the money if we do cancel, and

2. If using the prepay means we'll have to actually go to the counter since it looks like they outsource the prepaid part to another company for the booking.

Experiences?

Great questions. I'm wondering the same thing. I'd prefer to skip the counter too.

I went ahead and booked, I couldn't pass up the $98 rate. If I end up keeping it (it's for May so I may find something cheaper before then) I'll post back! And if I cancel I'll update on the refund time too.

Please let us know how it works out, and whether you had to stop at the counter or not. Have fun!

I just cancelled the PrePay rate. I found an Alamo rate for a few dollars cheaper and I won't have to worry about going to the counter. Now the fun begins, we'll see how long it takes them to process my refund! Here's the email I just got:

We would like to inform you that we have received your cancellation request for reservation USxxxxxxxx.

Your request will be processed within the next 12 hours and you will receive an email as soon as the cancellation is confirmed.

I'll update as soon as I see the $$ back on my card.

Another email today. Looks like it could be up to 10 days before the refund hits my card. Not a big deal since it was only around $50 but good to know in case I ever make a more expensive reservation.

As per your instructions we have now cancelled your booking. Any refund amount due should be in your bank account within the next 10 business days.
