Dollar, Airtran and a skycap

I have read about people during their departure bringing their baggage to the skycap, even if they have rented a car. There will be DH (who will be driving), me, DD9 and great grandma. Do we drive to the skycap, check in, and then all go to take the car back? Or do we take the car back and haul all of our luggage out to the skycap? Is it difficult to find the car rental drop off from this place in the airport? I would love to use the skycap for departure, but I am so confused on how it will work.

You could do curbside check in. Have your husband show the skycap at the AirTran counter his ID. Once he sees the ID have him return the car and you wait for him in the terminal. Just be sure to tip the skycap.

That is exactly what we do. No sense in all of going with DH. We just wait in the terminal.
