I've never been to WDW - but I saw a picture and heard about these famous 'dole whips' and I can't wait - are they worth the excitment?

Anyway, the main questions I have are 1. Can I find them anywhere else other than at MK Aloha Isle? 2. Can I purchase one with a snack credit (adult snack credit and a child snack credit) throught the DDP????

Thanks! :yay:

We love 'em, and think they're well worth the excitement, especially on a hot day. But you better love pineapple!

They are available at Aloha Isle in Magic Kingdom or at the Captain Cook's counter service restaurant in the Polynesian resort (monorail resort)

At Aloha Isle, for a snack credit you can get a Dole Whip soft serve cone OR a Dole Whip float (pineapple dole whip soft serve with pinapple juice or vanilla soft serve with pineapple juice) There's no difference between child or adult snack credits -- all the snack credits are just "snack credits" and there are no "child snacks" on menus -- it's all just "snacks"

At Captain Cook's, it's a self-service Dole Whip soft serve machine, no floats. (and unfortunately, it's often broken or empty...probably because of the self-serve feature!)

You can get pineapple soft serve or Dole Whip floats which is the pineapple soft serve with pineapple juice.
The floats great snack credit values because they're $3.99
I couldn't call it a Disney trip without one!

Thanks so much! I've seen and heard many good things about them and I LOVE LOVE LOVE ice cream - and pineapple! So I was just hoping I wasn't getting excited over nothing. And thanks for giving me a heads up about the snack credits being used as snack credits - not child vs adult (hope that made sense). I appreciate it!

I see you're staying at Pop in September...we're booked there too.

Hey, a fun thing to do if you're at Magic Kingdom & looking for a break from the park is to hop the resort monorail from there, and ride all the way around, or get off at the monorail resorts & explore for awhile. You can get off at the Polynesian, go downstairs from the monorail exit, get your dole whips, and then wander around the Polynesian resort while you snack (check out the beach, and the grounds...really pretty there) Then when you've had your break & snack, hop back on the monorail & back to the park. Makes for a nice break if you just want a little time away from the park for relaxing/exploring.

The one at Cap't Cooks either comes as a Snack credit or as dessert for a CS credit. When there in Sept. they had the dole whip soft serve and also a dole whip swirl with vanilla. Yes self serve but they were always working when we were there, guess we were lucky, don't know how long it would take to refill the machine if it was empty.

I tried the floats - too much juice ruining the taste of the ice cream.

My wife and boys loved them. I'll stick to plain old ice cream...

We tried a Dole Whip float once, because of the DIS hype. To be honest, I was really disappointed. None of us liked it. If the pineapple juice was chilled, it would be much better. I'd like to give the Dole Whip swirl a try, but we won't be getting the float again unless they start chilling the juice.

We love the dole whip floats! My youngest drinks all the pineapple juice out and then eats the ice cream but the rest of us eat them like a regular float. They are pretty large and fill you up a bit. So don't plan on it right after or before a meal.

Thanks Catne! Great advice - I'm sure I will appreciate sometime away from the heat, and that sounds like a great way to do it. I appreciate it!

Oh, what I wouldn't do for a Dole Whip Float right now (or anytime!!!)

We ate so many on our last trip, best snack credits ever!!!

I was skeptical, myself, given the "fanboy" attitude about Dole Whip floats on the boards.

But I tried one, for the sake of satisfying my curiosity. And...

Oh, yes, they live up to the hype. It's very refreshing, especially on a warm afternoon when you've been out in the sun for a while.

I've always just purchased the whip, becuase its so good and the float costs more anyway - how can you improve perfection?

But really, is the float even better than the whip?!? :cloud9:
