Dole Whips outside of WDW?

Dumsers in Ocean City, MD has them!!! I have never tried them, because to me they are a Disney thing.

REALLY? I have never seen them there (but rarely go past the milkshakes), are they at the boardwalk or one of the off boardwalk Dumsers?

I am so excited that Jumpin Jacks in Scotia has Dole Whips! I will tell you that a location in Lake George, NY and another one in Claverack, NY have Dole Whips. When I had it in Lake George I was so excited because it was the exact same thing - but I did want a pinapple dole whip float like at Disney!

Good luck on your quest!

Dole Whip (or something very similar) is available at the local serve-yourself frozen yogurt place Orange Leaf here in San Antonio.

Yeah! The Orange leaf in Branson had it when we were there a couple weeks back. It even had the Dole logo. I had mine along with some coconut frozen yogurt and mango on top. OMG good.

those look great! did you have a special machine ? how did you make them? also, where did you purchase the mix? thanks in advance!

To make them you either use an ice cream maker or there are some home soft serve machines.

Here is a link on how to make smaller quantities.

As for where to buy, the link was in the post right before your's.

Oh and for using some recipe off the Internet, I like them because they are lactose free, I can eat them without gastric distress.

For anyone near Portland, Oregon...they have Dole Pineapple Whips at Peachwave, but they call it "non-dairy dole pineapple". There is one location at the Cedar Hills in Beaverton, and one near Bridgeport in Tigard. It looks like Peachwave has some locations in other states, so it might be worth checking out its peachwaveyogurt.com.

The last time I posted on the DIS that my small local independent ice cream place sold Dole Whips, I had people telling me that they were getting them illegally because they were ONLY available at Disney or in Hawaii, or something weird.

But yes, the place around the corner from me sells them. I've actually never had one, and didn't get one when I was at Disney this year. I totally forgot. ;)

You can get dole whips at the dole plantation on the island of oahu in Hawaii. It is on the north shore. I had it there before I even went to Disney. Took the Keys to the Kingdom tour and told it is only sold three places in the world. Disney World, Disneyland and Dole Plantation.

It tastes even better in hawaii. I think the floats in hawaii are used making fresh squeezed pineapple juice.

A hospital I once worked for (in the Philly suburbs) sold them in their snack bar. Different flavors, all pretty wonderful! :goodvibes The hospital is still there, but sadly they closed the snack bar.

I think they were just trying to make then more exotic.

Well obvoiusly not based on the fact that anyone can purchase the mix. And of course everyone who has purcahsed them outside of those places.

I know what you mean! I've grown up with them at most of the local stands around here... I had no idea until I joined the DIS that they were so coveted.

Okay, I have to ask...if there are flavors OTHER than Pineapple, why are they still called Dole whips??? :confused3 Isn't Dole primarily a pineapple grower? I mean, I know they don't grow chocolate...wouldn't that just be called chocolate soft serve???

I think it's more about it being a brand name than about pineapple.

As a teen/young adult I used to get them all the time from our local ice cream shack - Licketysplit! Moved away as an adult and never really thought about them being exotic b/c they were always right around the corner. Was so surprised when I started reading the Disboards and found out they were so coveted!!
