Dole Whip is a Dish Best Served Cold. A Sept PTR- 10/2 - TR POSTED!

Unfortunately, without a park hopper you can't visit two parks in one day. It will lock you out of the second park. :( Sorry!
Darn. I had this funny feeling that I might be wrong, so now I'm thinking I've heard this sometime in the past. No matter, plan B it is. Now that you say it, it does make sense. Who would buy a park hopper if you could do that?

Glad you have your art ready to sell. I would love to see more of your work sometime.
Thank you! I might post a few things here some time. :goodvibes

I don't see how you could go all the way down there and only have two days at Disney!! That would KILL me!
Me too! Even only four days won't be enough for me!

I get this. Then a lot of people who were going for a 3 day weekend would do the same thing.
Yes, I didn't really think of it that way but now it does make sense.

But since the base ticket is cheaper and you aren't planning to do a lot of park hopping, why not go with the longer base anyway? :confused3 You could always upgrade to a hopper there if you really weren't satisfied.
It won't work though, because I do want to do some park hopping. We have one day planned at AK in the morning and DHS in the afternoon, it's the only way the rest of the group will get to see all four parks. We are trying to save a bit of money so I don't want to have to turn a 6 day into a park hopper if we later decide, you know? I'll probably go with a 4 day PH. That works!

Why do I think you just opened the door to a Pop Century stay (and possibly free dining? )
Free dining is a huge draw, I'd hate to miss out on it! :thumbsup2

Can't wait to see how this all plays out!
At this point, neither can I!! :lmao:

BTW - how did the camera classes go? Weren't you going to do a workshop at work?
Yes! It went very, very well!

lol - I guess that should have said photography classes. Doh! :rotfl:
Actually, technically speaking, camera class would be more correct! We did mostly a "what does that button do" type of camera class. :)

Hi everyone, just wanted to pop in quick to say Happy Mother's Day to all moms, god-mothers, fur moms and anyone who is a mother figure to anyone else!

In other, but still related news, apparently Johnny's sister is thinking more strongly than ever about coming, and wants to bring her friend with her. That means two more people which equals 10 people in a condo that's really meant for 8... it would be an awful shame if Johnny and I had to move to Pop Century to give them some room, wouldn't it?

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

I seriously laughed out loud when I read that! It's amazing those how things just "happen" and evolve so innocently! :rolleyes1

It sucks on the ticket policy and hopping parks, but thats Disney making sure you spend the $$$. I like having the hoppers too just to have the available options to move around if needed!

Hope your day got nice quiet again after the rush!

Hi, it's too early in the morning for this maths intake! :lmao:
Need my cup of coffee first ha ha ;)
It is a shame that you can't park hop using base tickets but I guess than people would never buy park hoppers lol.
I really hope you get to stay at Pop Century and yes you sure jinxed yourself by saying you didn't have much work on yesterday! :rotfl:
Have a good Monday x

It's too bad that your base ticket plan won't work because that would save you a bit of money (Disney really thinks of everything, don't they lol). I'm intrigued to see if this will change to an onsite trip!

Why yes, that would be terribly tragic if you had to go stay at Pop to make room... :rolleyes1 :rotfl:

I'm staying at Pop for the first time in October - I know you like it, so that makes me feel more optimistic.

Wow I am so impressed by this report!! So fun! I think I am just as excited as you are about this trip lol. Looking forward to following along!

I am terrible at math and have no idea what to tell you.

I am thankful I have an Annual Pass for the rest of this year's trips.

It never fails...you get your work done and think you can have some DIS time and BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM.

Hope you have a great weekend.

Feel your pain about not staying at Disney and your parent's condo problem. We are going to Alaska this summer so in no way was Disney in the plans this year, esp. because I am a teacher and can not go when the deals are. Then I realized--- my 50th Bday is this December and I swore on Tigger that I would be in Disney on it. So my understanding husband said ok to a stripped down trip. 3 days at the Fountains (our BlueGreen Condo), it is gorgeous but not Disney. and then 3 days in Heaven. We have POP booked starting on my bday of Dec 30, then I saw Dave's point rental. I requested a reservation but not holding out much hope due to Christmas. It would actually be cheaper to stay at AKL Villa than POP! I too was lured by the "you can get Disney DVC" to upgrade our timeshare. Don't get me wrong, we love BlueGreen, beautiful properties and a good value compared to other companies. And we can book Disney through RCI BUT I can't seem to get when I can go, limited due to being teacher. Have a great time in Sept. Nothing beats seeing a child's face light up when they see their favorite character!pixiedust:

Yes... "innocently"... :thumbsup2 :rotfl:

I didn't really think it through, but yes, it makes sense. I definitely like having the hoppers!

Hope your day got nice quiet again after the rush!
It stayed busy until the end of the shift, but was good after that! :thumbsup2

I know, too many numbers!

Yep, didn't think that one through very well! :lmao:

Hehehe thanks, I hope we get to Pop Century too! And yes, I did jinx myself! It happens every time! :rotfl2:

It is, but then I do understand why they do it (and now I know why I had some reservations about my plan, knew I was wrong!)

Wouldn't that be awful? ;) I'd HATE to be so far from the rest of the group...

I'm staying at Pop for the first time in October - I know you like it, so that makes me feel more optimistic.
I do, I love it. Admittedly it was the first place I ever stayed so it has a special place in my heart, but further than that it's big and colourful and fun!

Thank you, and :welcome: Glad you're following along!!

I am terrible at math and have no idea what to tell you.
So am I! :rotfl2: I'm thinking a 4-day park hopper is my best bet!

I am thankful I have an Annual Pass for the rest of this year's trips.
I wish I lived close enough (or could get flights cheap enough!) to go more than once a year. I'd definitely have an AP!

It never fails...you get your work done and think you can have some DIS time and BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM./QUOTE]
Every. Single. Time. :rotfl:

Hope you have a great weekend.
You too Kathy!

Just randomly as I read your PTR title again....how gross would warm melted dolewhip taste!! :crazy2:
Confession time: I've never had a Dole Whip!! I don't like pineapple! :rotfl: but I can imagine that a melty one would be nasty!

Alaska sounds nice! My parents have an Alaskan cruise on their radar. Hope it works out well for you to be there on your birthday! Sucks that you can't book with RCI when you want to (RCI sounds familiar, that might be the company my parents are with... hmmm I'll have to check that out.)
Can't wait for September, it's going to be so different with kids there!

Before I start reading your PTR, I just had to say HI :wave2: It's been far too long since I've been on the DIS, and that's mostly because my life had taken a large turn away from Disney right into, well...everything else. I suppose that's not a bad thing though, because as sad as it is, when one isn't really planning a Disney trip, many other things tend to occupy ones's time instead of the DIS :(

BUT...

late on Sunday, I heard a distant twinkling, and felt a little tickle on my shoulders as I saw the faintest outline of what could have been a tiny fairy passing by pixiedust: because...

I'm going to Disney World! :woohoo: My trip is a bit before yours (first full week of September) but I thought it was neat you're staying where you are becuase my mother-in-law works for a company that sells vacations to the place you guys will be staying at...kind of neat, I thought.

Anyway, I can't wait to start in to your PTR! Not sure if I'll be able to do one or not, but who knows...:confused3

Hey you!!! Good to see you around again! Sorry to hear about the life turns that lead you away from the Dis, but YAY :cool1: :cool1: :cool1: for the pixie dust on your shoulders and the trip and the return to the boards! Too bad we miss each other though!
That is neat that your MIL sells vacations where we're staying! The reviews on the place are fantastic. I'm whining about not being on property, but I know it will be awesome.
If you do start a PTR, be sure to let me know!

:scared1::scared1::scared1:

You!!!!! So sneaky! Have you had atleast a citrus swirl? :scratchin
Nope! Disney blasphemy right??

Joining in!! Loving your writing style and all the memes! Our trips overlap a bit-- we're in Disney Sept. 16-22 and US 22-24.
I think the new HP land will be busy in June/most of the summer, but by the time we go, I'll think it'll have calmed down. I'm more concerned about going to Epcot the first Saturday of F&W! :scared:

Yeah, it sounds like a nice place from what she described...but, you know, it's not Disney...:rolleyes1 ...maybe it's still not too late to change a few things around...what with free dining and all...and you might have 2 more people than you originally thought...I mean, you wouldn't want to crowd everyone into the place :crowded: so...you guys just might have to take on the burden of staying on-site to help give everyone a bit more room in the condo :stir:

:welcome: to my report!! Very glad to have you along! We do overlap, cool! Are you doing a PTR? I just checked out your TR but it's all wrapped up, if you start a PTR I'd love to join in! I think you're right about the new HP section calming down a bit by September. (I sure hope so!) Epcot will be scary when F&W starts, I'm avoiding the evenings in World Showcase if at all possible!

Omg, free dining is such a pull! I want to be on property so bad. Doesn't really look too promising right now, but I'm still hoping my sister in law decides to come! :thumbsup2

I may need to call the Dis-police on you! :p I'm sure though they will let you off the hook if you atleast make Johnny eat one while you watch? (...That sounded dirtier then I was intending....:goodvibes)
Hahahaha that does sound dirty, but I totally get what you mean. I asked him to try one last year but honestly, we're not snackers and we tend to forget about snack foods! Maybe next trip I'll get the family to try some. :thumbsup2 And I'll watch. :rotfl:

I just found your PTR & would love to join along! I mean really, can I come with? :rotfl2: sounds like you have 3 great trips on the horizon! I have to tell you that YC is my favorite resort! :sail: Don't get me wrong though, I'd gladly stay at BC, but YC is awesome! Our last trip I wanted to return to YC, but it was booked & we stayed at BC & had a great time. You will love staying in the Epcot Area, there's so much to do & places to dine!
