I've read many people raving about the Dole Whip, and thought I might try one on my next visit. I looked at the Tiki Juice Bar menu, and I need some clarification.

They have a "Dole Whip Float" for $4.79 and a "Pineapple Dole Whip Soft-Serve" for $3.29. What is the difference between these two? When people are talking about a Dole Whip, which one are they referring to?

The Dole Whip Float has pineapple juice. :) Here is a photo comparison, Dole Whip on left, Dole Whip Float on right:

Don't go for the float unless you REALLY like pineapple juice, and can drink a whole glass of it.

I love the regular Dole Whip. Like L-O-V-E love it. But the float is too much for me. It makes my tongue go all prickly.

Lots of people love the float, though. It's just not for me!

Don't worry, you're not the only one to get them confused either. I made Dole Whips this past summer at WDW and we got tons of questions like this. What made it worse was that at WDW there are 3 different flavors of "Dole Whip" and one of the menu items was to "swirl" 2 flavors together (pineapple/vanilla, etc.). So we had people ask what was the difference between a "Dole Whip Soft Serve" and a "Dole Whip Soft Serve Swirl" all summer long.

But yeah, I highly recommend the float. The pineapple juice is so yummy! Also a helpful hint: if the line is very very long (which it often is), there's another line if you enter the Enchanted Tiki Room waiting area that's always much shorter. And then you can watch the Tiki Room or not...they'll allow you to get out.

I love the Float. The way the whip and the juice melt together is just perfect on a hot day! or a not so hot day. So yummy.

So, is the Dole Whip basically just pineapple soft-serve ice cream? Looks yummy.

I prefer the float version cuz I like that extra shot of pineapple flavor in the juice. Is there a more perfect treat on a hot Disneyland day? I don't think so!

It's like ice cream but it is non-dairy. It is very refreshing. My daugher loves the regular dole whip but does not like the float at all. I would start with a whip for your first one.

We also prefer just the Dole Whip, without the float. Mostly because we seem to get it on warmer/hot days and the juice isn't cold-so it melts your whip pretty rapidly.

Love getting them at Capt. Cooks at the Poly in WDW-you serve yourself.:goodvibes

It's not non dairy. It is lactose free, but it has casein, which is dairy.

Op hope you like it and can handle the ingredients. I was looking forward to it, but my taste buds think it's pineapple flavored melted plastic. And my husband and son liked it, but it was actually THE thing that caused us to realize that their systems can't handle corn syrup solids (already knew that corn syrup and HFCS was on the list). So we did not have a fun time, post dole whip.

Hope your time is better! And that you can have casein.

I suggest asking for a sample of the Dole Whip first, that way if you like it, then you may order one with confidence. I should have done that, but alas, did not. My taste buds were overwhelmed with the extreme sweet flavor. I tasted my Dole several times, believing that perhaps the flavor grows on you. Well it did not on me,suffice it to say I made my apologizes to the CM, then asked if I might be able to exchange it for a bottle of water. Fortunately, that was not a problem.

THe Dole Whip is delicious, but I'm just responding to say I can't even comprehend someone not wanting to watch the Tiki Room. Leaving once you are in the queue just doesn't compute!

No try, just do! I say go for the Dole Whip Float. :)

I agree...if you go Dole...go all the way!!! Get the Float...the juice is not too sweet, it's just perfect, and no your tongue won't get all prickly like someone said it would.

I got my float after 2 days of wanting one mostly because lines were long throughout the day the first couple of days...I got smart on the 3rd day, and got mine early in the morning when crowds were low, and the weather was just starting to warm up. Don't wait until the afternoon or it'll melt FAST with the CA sun.

Gotta try it. If you like pineapple juice get the float. You probalby wont get prickly tongue from it like someone else said. I get that when I do eat too much pineapple but never with the float or the whip.

Go to the line inside and enjoy the tiki room. Sometimes when I walk by the line to get a dole whip is worse than some of the lines for the rides.

The Dole Whips would be better if they used natural ingredients.

Ingredients
Water*, Sugar, Dextrose, Pineapple Juice Concentrate, Coconut Oil**, Stabilizers (Cellulose, Xanthan Gum, Locust Bean, Karaya Gum, Pectin), Maltodextrin, Silicon Dioxide (Anticaking), Corn Syrup Solids, Citric Acid, Sodium Caseinate (A Milk Derivative), Artificial Flavor, Potassium & Sodium Phosphate, Mono & Diglycerides, Artificial Color (Yellow 5 & 6), Soy Lecithin.

Why can't they just use milk, cream, eggs, cane sugar, pineapple juice????
