Dole Whip 2.0 on Demand

I have seen this recipe to make homemade Dole Whip in a few places, and finally decided to try it. I was hoping for something “good enough to tide me over”. I didn’t predict that by using all real ingredients I would actually enjoy it more.

Ingredients:

1qt Dole Pineapple Juice (usually 1 can)
3 cups whipping cream
3 cups sugar
1tsp (tea spoon) Vanilla extract
Milk

Mix pineapple juice and sugar until the sugar dissolves
Add the Cream & Vanilla
Pour the mix into the ice cream maker container
The ice cream maker will have a “Fill Line”. If the mix does not reach this line (it probably won’t), fill it to the line with milk.
Follow the directions of your ice cream maker to spin and freeze the mix
Serve or put in the freezer to make harder

If you did a "diet" version with milk and Splenda, I bet it would probably taste like the real thing. (not as rich, but yours sounds wonderful!)

I thought Dole Whip was dairy free....

Dole Whips are dairy free. I am lactose intolerant and made sure to verify before having one.

Upon further research, it's not completely dairy free, but is lactose-free and is not made with cream or milk:

Oh I love your line "We can rebuild it — we have the technology." Haven't seen the 6 Million Dollar Man in years.

Enjoy you Dole Whips, but to me half the enjoyment comes from eating them in the Magic Kingdom. Especially during the middle of a hot day in August.
