Doing WDW Han Style...SOLO!!

Maybe some more rest would have better served you... lol

Did you miss anything really exciting by sleeping in?

Only the stuff I really wanted to see!

"Walt Disney World In Detail" with Jason Surrell - all about the little touches that make Disney so exceptional.

"Imagineering Walt Disney World: From Yesteryear to Tomorrow" with Eric Jacobson (I learned that Tony Baxter subbed in for Eric).

Awesome stuff, right?! I did think of just going to bed and having a full Monday but, I was (rightly) worried. What if I was getting a cold and that evening was the ONLY other time I'd have in the parks? So, I (rightly) decided to risk it!

As a woman who got a bad migraine from too much late night, early morning at Disneyland, I salute you. :cool1: I'm glad you decided to go have fun!

Post D23/Pre-Magic Kingdom! by A-T-G, on Flickr[/IMG]

Making my way back to the monorail I thought to myself 'what are you doing? Surely you are going to go RIGHT back to you hotel and rest' and then I thought 'No, what if you wake up feeling even WORSE tomorrow! Seize the day!'
I argue with myself a lot.

Waiting for the fireworks on Main Street by A-T-G, on Flickr[/IMG]

This is what greeted me at Main Street - as I had apparently arrived 10 minutes before the fireworks began. Since my spot was pretty decent (and the crowd filling in making it difficult to navigate), I decided to stay and watch!

Fireworks on Main Street! by A-T-G, on Flickr[/IMG]

So much for MY view of the fireworks but, at least the kids got a good view (sarcasm off).

As soon as the fireworks ended I sprinted into Tomorrowland. It was the nearest 'land' to enter while the crowds shuffled down mainstreet. I was hoping to ride the PeopleMover as I miss that lovely little relaxing ride at Disneyland. It was temporarily closed so...

I ducked into Space Ranger Spin -which I LOVED! I think I liked it better than Disneyland's version (it didn't hurt that my score ROCKED)

Next up was the Astro Orbitor. I don't ride this one at 'home' ever -as the line is insane. This one was a very pleasant and SHORT wait!

Berrie's ready to board by A-T-G, on Flickr[/IMG]

I forgot that Star Tours in as DHS and looked ALL over Tomorrowland for it (silly, ATG!). Finally I realized my boneheaded error and had a good laugh at my expense (which I'm kindly sharing with you all!)

I decided to take one more peek to see if the PeopleMover was operating yet and...IT WAS! Oh boy!

I would have ridden it again and again! It was however getting late and I had some additional exploring to do. The park was nearly closed but, I had a room key and EMH to play with...

Up Next: So, How Does This Work Again?

Sorry for the loooong update delay! I've been prepping for Comic-Con! Oops. Will try to get a update ASAP!

The castle from Tomorrowland by A-T-G, on Flickr[/IMG]

The last time I was at WDW you had to go and get a bracelet in order to enjoy the EMH. Not this time! This time, the park 'closed' and you could just flash you hotel key to enjoy the open attractions. Brilliant!

I headed to Fantasyland!

I really do love this castle! The beautiful colors are just gorgeous. I didn't really capture them well.

Mosaic by A-T-G, on Flickr[/IMG]

I REALLY wanted to snap pics of the stunning mosaic inside. I, however, lack the skill to do so. The best I got was the pic above.

My FIRST ride was Small World. I used to ADORE this ride at DL. My DH and I rode this one after he'd popped the question to me so, it's got a very special place in my heart. I don't exactly LOATHE it now - I just don't love ALL of the changes to the ride (*cough* America land *cough*). The WDW was a very pleasing surprise.

The boat was rocking! We hit rough water...yeah, that's why it's so blurry! I'm not tired!

I hit up the Winnie the Pooh ride - I really loved this line! It's such a fun place to play!

Next up was Haunted Mansion. I love the WDW version. The line is such fun. I had to stop to play with all the additions. They're great!

Haunted Mansion wait is SCARY by A-T-G, on Flickr[/IMG]

It was getting late and I was feeling exhausted! I made my way thru the practically deserted park and stumbled to Pirates. At first, I thought it was closed. I didn't see the cast member. As I got closer I saw that it was staffed but there was NO ONE near us waiting to ride. 'Are you open?' I ask. 'Sure are!' was the reply. 'nuff said. I was going in!

Yo-ho! by A-T-G, on Flickr[/IMG]

No waiting and a entire boat to myself! Just the BEST way to ride! When I finished I decided I'd had enough...until I spied the spot to buy a Dole Whip Float (or it's Florida cousin). They have a ORANGE version (still has the pineapple juice). Gimme! I wouldn't replace my traditional Dole Whip Float - I would, however, eat the Florida cousin again (wait...).

As I made my way down main street, I ran into one of our DD: WDW crew. We said "hi!" and decided to check out the new Princess photo spot. They were wrapped up for the night but, we just wanted to see the room they were in! Cast members scurried to and fro and called the Princesses back on deck for us -- we just want to see the room, we tried to explain... explain. Finally we shrug and follow the cast members into the new room. The princesses were lined up for their photos. We didn't want any photos with them. Confusion...I finally just snapped a photo to end the awkwardness!

After that, it was to the bus and back to my room - where I spent ALL of Monday - exhausted and stuffy. I flew home still feeling sluggish and slept for the rest of the week (until our Carolwood Foundation train trip)!

Guess I'll need another WDW trip!

Oh, geez, you had a full day. Looked like a fun time in the evening at MK. It sure is a lovely park at night.
