We will be staying at Disney for 7 nights in Novemember and since my 5 year old is a huge Super Heros and Nick Jr. fan, I figured I would get away from my wife and 2 year old for one full day/night and see as much as Universal and Island of Adventure I could.

Has anyone done this in the past? Any advice or tips?

From what I've been reading on here its not that crowded right now so you may not need the fast passes. I always recommend at least 2 days there, but if you have no choice you'll be able to do alot of it in just a day, if you don't mind hustling, dont skip IOA though, thats the best park.

We've done it during spring break when the parks were relatively crowded. However, we know our way around and that helps a lot. Study the maps so you have a feel for how both parks are layed out, and you can actually get through both in a day. You will miss things, but if you know in advance what you really want to do, you can pretty much hit all the highpoints. Have fun.

I recommend staying onsite. Free express. Though you wont need if you get there at least half hour before the park opens. I recommend doing IOA first, though if you want to see characters, you may want to wait until later.Depending on what time you go in November, its usually not busy. The weekend of Thanksgiving is horrendous, and I recommend avoiding it like the plague.

I did it back in Jan. It was not as low attendance as I though it would be. we were at disney and went to us-ioa for a day. We arrived at park opening and finished well before the afternoon. We have the 1 day/2park pass and hit IOA first. Rode Hulk, Spidey, DD (front row many many times) and then all the Dr.suess stuff on the way out two US. We just did US in a clockwise order and saw every ride and show except for FF. Rode MIB and Mummy several times. We then went back to IOa and started all over and caught everything. We did not have express passes and did not have kids, so it was easy to go comando.

We did it last february on a thursday got there at 9 am and finished up around 5:30 pm did everything but the water rides at IOA because it was to cold that day and hit stuff like Sherk and Spidey twice.
