Yes well like most of you I could not wait to the doc dance. BUT thanks to the postman here in New York... My docs got wet!

He decided to leave them outside my door today. WHY i dont know my mailbox can house 10 of the size envelopes my doc's came in. I am furious! they are next to me drying now. EVERYONE knew today was going to RAIN. AHHHHHHHHHHHHH

I really want to FLAME but will just relax right now.

Why don't you call the cruise lines and tell them the situation. Ask them if they can duplicate your documents and hold them at the port for when you leave on your cruise.

My father is a retired letter carrier with the USPS, he would tell you that you need to report what happened to your mail to your local Post Office. If your box was large enough there was no reason for that to happen. Hopefully DCL will duplicate your docs for you.

Here is some PIXIE dust !*!*!*!*!* for your upcoming cruise and hopefully the storms you are currently having will calm down, I saw it on the weather channel and the northeast is being hammered with rain.

I can't believe this!! The same thing happened to ours!! The courier service placed them in a puddle on a back porch we never use!! They laid there for two days until I stumbled across them. I was furious too!! I called the service and lodged a complaint, but never even recieved so much as an apology! They did dry out nicely and I had no further trouble, but I was hopping mad at first!! And the cute little pouchy-envelope thing they came in never recovered!! Oh well!!

I would definately report the problem to the postal service. Even if nothing gets done about it, at least you will have done the right thing. Let's just hope that is the worst thing that will happen throughout your trip!!!::yes::

Have a great trip!!:wave2:

Are you sure you should be mad at the USPS?

Last time I got docs, they were delivered by FedEx.

As an employee of the USPS i find it hard to believe that a letter carrier would leave them anywhere but your box. All other services have to leave them outside the box by law, they are not allowed to place anything in your mail box

Sorry to hear about your soaking cruise docs. Amazing that a mail delivery person would leave a package where it would get wet.

I"m so cautious aboutmy paper work getting wet. When travelling, I keep my travel documents in waterproof bags. Never know when you might find yourself in a dripping wet situation. I might get soaked but my paper work won't. Or at least I hope not.

We're cruising on the 9/18 Magic and received our docs yesterday via FedEx. This is my 4th DCL cruise and my docs have always been delivered by FedEx. Jan

VERY SURE. It came in the large Envelope (the 3day express one) from the USPS. If this was FEDEX, I would assume it would come in a FEDEX envelope... Unless FEDEX is making deliveries for the USPS now.

My Doc's came from AllSeas.

Well believe it, and this is not the first time they did something like this! This is not a bash on the letter carrier's, but rather the ONE who decided to dump this letter (envelope) right outside my FRONT DOOR. WHEN THE WEATHER CALLS FOR - RAIN, Thunder strorms, RAIN, Thunder storms, RAIN... for the next few days. :rolleyes1

Well off to call Disney. The docs are legible but are"warped" if you will.

Uhhhh....why are you calling DCL--Your documents were sent that way by All Seas. Your beef is with All Seas it sounds like. To the best of my knowledge, DCL does not use the U.S. mail. And, yes, FedEx and the USPS are actually in business together and make each other's deliveries sometimes (though not in this case). This is why most post offices now have FedEx boxes, too.

Ahh... If you read the first few post you would know why I am calling Disney. No need to call All Seas they are not at fault. It's the guy/gal who decided to dropoff my mail at the front door thats the one I haev a BEEF with.

Thanks for input on USPS and FEDEX union.

**UPDATE** spoke with DCL, and it should not be a problem, as long as you can see the information, and they would give new ones at the port if need be. I just wanted to make sure of this before heading down.

I'm surprised that they left them at all. For all 3 of my cruises my docs were delivered by FEDEX and I had to sign for them. One time I wasn't home and they left me a note saying they would try to deliver them one more time, and if they were not successful I would have to come to their office and pick them up.

I booked directly thru DCL and got my docs about a week ago ... they came via USPS and were left in my mailbox.

When we cruised last October I came home from work and saw a brown box lying on my front porch, which happened to be my cruise documents left by the UPS man. It's a good thing we don't enter the house through that way(almost always enter through the garage) since the cruise was a surprise for my daughter who happened to be in the car with me. I was a little upset because anyone could have come along and just picked them up.

Yes Thank you I am too. I could not believe this. Anyone could have taken them, or who knows. This is simply amazing. No sig, No note, no we'll come back. Just drop it off and go, if you get'em good if not oh well. He I dont know what to think, but my DW called to report this. Maybe next time they will think twice prior to dropping off mail by the front door in the rain.

DCL uses FedEx, TAs use whatever. We had one who used Airborne Express. They left the docs on the front porch--not even inside the unlocked screen door. A neighborhood dog ate them!!!

We had enough left to tell what they were, and DD went nuts. She thought we couldn't cruise since something had shredded the tickets. There was a "re-ticketing fee" which I insisted the TA would pay since I had never received the documents!

My posting to this thread is two-fold:

(1) I'm sorry your docs are wet and I hope they dry nicely for you.
(2) I'm on the 9/4 Magic too and I'm GREEN WITH ENVY THAT MY DOCS HAVEN'T ARRIVED YET!

Ok, that's all I had to say. ;)

My eyes are going with my age. I hadn't noticed that your wet docs were for the 9/4/04 cruise. I'm on that one too!
