We are planning a trip to WDW towards the end of October (23-28). We want to do a MNSSHP and maybe park hoppers. Will we have enough time to get in the major stuff? We have always done summer for 7 or 8 days.

6 days in October - you're singin' my song! I do 6 park days, no water parks and definitely get all the big stuff done. I've traveled in sept but lately Oct and whether it's increasing crowds or just a difference between those months, park hours were longer in Oct, making it fairly easy to do "everything".

Weather is generally good, allowing us to stay in the parks all day - not wilting in the mid afternoon heat. (It still gets hot enough to swim & toasty in the sun, but nothing like July & Aug)

My kids weren't yet up to really late nights, so we didn't stay past 9 or so, but park hoppers may be a good idea if you like late nights, because depending on your dates, MK may have a couple late nights, but it will also have early closures for party nights; DHS may have some 7pm nights and some 9pm nights on your stay; AK may close as early as 5. . . You could pick a "day park" and still hop to whatever is still open later.

I'm just worried because two of those days are arrival day and departure day. I gave the kids the option of early summer or October. They chose October for the Halloween party

So you really only have 4 full days and 2, at best, half days, right?
That would not be enough time for us, even after many trips, to do all that we want to do. But if that is what it is, then I would sit as a family and strategize as to what is important for us to do. You all need to know you can't do everything, but you can strive for the most important things.

Since you are arriving on a Friday (Usually a party night) I would just settle in to your room, get a bite to eat and head over to the MNSSHP for that night. That is of course depending on what time you are arriving.

You usually can get in at 4PM and many times Fridays can be very crowded for the party, but since you are going so close to Halloween, most of your options will be crowded or sold out.

You also have the EPCOT Food and Wine festival going on and as long as you focus on the different foods from around the world it is a fairly family friendly environment (Stay away from weekends). If you have kids, or adults that are fussy eaters it may not be for you.
