doing resort only stay in August

We will be at Coronado Springs resort the 3rd week of August for 4 full days plus 2 flying days. Dh and I have not been to Orlando in August for about 25 or 30 years . This is a house scouting trip for our retirement move down there. Our adult daughter and her boyfriend will be coming with us. We will spend most of the day driving around and checking out the area and going back to the resort around 5 or so and hitting the pool. How does that sound? And what about storms, thunder, rain, etc in the afternoons in August? Are they almost daily and how long and how late usually?

It's going to rain, usually a shower, sometimes a gully washer but I don't think I've been in August when it rained all day. Usually late afternoon for about a hour and possibly some evening showers. No way to know for sure, of course.
