This is my first trip report ever, so hopefully everyone enjoys reading it. Let's see I'll start with a little info about us. Brian and I have been together for 4 years now and we have the best time together ever! My mom lives in Florida, about 2 hours from the Mouse's House, so I've been to Disney more times than I can count. Brian on the other hand went once as a baby and again at 13......that was it! He's 30 now! Could you image?? NO Disney for 17 years! NO WAY! As many times as I've been to Disney, I've never stayed on the property, so last September we took 5 days and stayed at the Poly. :cool1: OMG I am NEVER staying off property again! That was the best trip ever and we decided to go every year.

I'd always wanted to go see the Christmas decorations and always thought that it would never happen. :sad1: Then out of nowhere, Brian calls me at work and says "Want to go to Disney for New Years?" OF COURSE I DO!! So we booked the trip, we were going to stay at the Poly leave on 12/29 and come home 1/3. That's when we hit a slight road bump. The airfare was out of control, I'm talking $500 A PIECE! :scared1: We didn't want to pay that so we decided to drive. I've done that road trip so many times I could probably do it with my eyes closed. Since driving from Jersey to Florida takes about 16-17 hours that would have cut into our time at the parks and we didn't want to take to many days off of work in January sooooooo..........we changed the dates completely! We ended up booking 12/14-12/18 but there were no rooms available at the Poly. Brian LOVES the monorail and has a hard time staying in a hotel that isn't on the monorail route. Back to the drawing board. I don't even remember how the Boardwalk Inn came up, but I thought it would be cool to see Disney's take on the east coast shoreline, being that we are from Jersey and have the best shore ever! OK OK so I might be a little biased :) Plus I liked the idea that certain aspects were designed based on Atlantic City NJ! It was like bringing home with us!

**We're on our way, or are we? Cancelled Flight, Over booked flight, and two trips to the airport, and MVMCP with PICS**

pirate: Our flight was scheduled to leave Thursday 12/14 at 8:05 pm. Perfect! We got out of work at 3:30 so there was plenty of time to get to the airport since it is only a 45 minute drive. Brian decided to check the flight status before we left work, delayed by 3 hours! We decided to leave for the airport as scheduled anyway.
We get to the airport and there was a slight mix-up with our plane tickets. Brian got on the phone with Disney Travel, AirTran, then Disney Travel again and we were finally good to go! Back to the AirTran counter we go. Well by the time we checked our bags and got our seat assignments our flight was delayed another 2 hours. Take off time was after 1 in the morning!:scared1: We grabbed dinner and figured we would wait it out.
There we were at the gate, waiting :laundy: and waiting :happytv: and waiting :surfweb: All the while, the boards kept saying "delayed" Brian decided to call his brother and have him check on AirTran's website. Sure enough, CANCELLED! Back to the AirTran counter we go! They tell us to call the 1-800 number and they will help us with a new flight and we could pick our bags up from baggage claim. While I waited for the suitcases, Brian called AirTran. What a good team we are
It was set, 9:10 Friday morning we were sheduled to leave. Since pretty much every flight out of Philly was cancelled because of FOG :confused3 all the hotels in the area were booked solid so we drove home. The next morning we drive back to the airport, check-in and are told that we will get our seat assignment at the gate. I had a bad feeling here, they always do that when you check-in. Sure enough, the flight was OVER BOOKED!! I was beginning to think this trip was not such a good idea. Since this trip was our Christmas gifts to each other and we weren't really exchanging I decided I wanted to do a little something for Brian to show him how special he is  I came to the DISboards for help! THANK YOU!! I found memories by sarah! She was wonderful! I had a stocking delivered to the hotel so when we checked in, they would have it for him. Since we didn't check in when we were suppose to I got worried about his special delivery so I had to tell him :sad1: He called the hotel and explained that our flight was cancelled and that I had something sent to the hotel and he didn't know what it was but we would be there by 3. They said No problem. Now, we are HUGE Pirates of the Caribbean fans, seriously we quote the movie to each other daily! pirate: Some people think we are nuts! I didn't get a chance to snap a pic before he opened it! But Here's the stocking

HI Fellow Jersey Girl!!!!! I am actual in Central Jersey, about 15 minutes from Princeton. I have never done a TR before but figured why not! I have lots of pics coming :) Thanks for reading!

Brandy

We planned on heading over to the MK for MVMCP around 5, so we had an hour to kill. Neither one of us had been to the Boardwalk before so we decided to check it out

This is our room....it was very nice but when we got there it was like 20 below in there! I know I am from the North but dang it was cold!

Brian always has to check out the TV, typical man! :lmao: .

Our ressies were for a "water view" and we really hoped we had a view of the lake and not a swimming pool. We asked everytime we had to call about our flight situation and all CM's would say was that they would try.....but not promising anything....This is the view we ended up with! :cool1:

That's no swimming pool! It was so nice to wake up in the morning and hearing the jazz type music from the Boardwalk. I read reviews and said that it was noisey there but I thought it added to the whole theme of the hotel!

There were Christmas decorations everywhere!
In the courtyard:

In the Lobby, the floors reflected the lights and it looked beautiful!

Your TR is so good for your first one!! I'm glad you had a good time at Disney. Can't wait for more.

Enjoying your report so far. Sorry to read about your problems with the flight. I would have been so mad if they cancelled my flight!

I've flown to Florida and back every year since I was a kid and this was the first time I ever had a flight cancelled! I was so mad and upset I wanted to cry! I hope to get ore of my TR up later today. :thumbsup2

Hi Brandy! Sorry, I didn't mean to leave Central Jersey out! :rotfl: I've been to Princeton a couple times, so I know where-abouts you are! I'm down close to Atlantic City.

I love your trip report. And keep the pictures coming. I love to be able to "see" what you're talking about.

How awesome that you have another trip planned already in 2007! I'm jealous!

We go to Princeton all the time and walk around the University, very pretty in the fall. Can you believe that I have NEVER been to Atlantic City! :sad1: The closest I've been was Stone Harbor.

Have you ever stayed at the Boardwalk Inn? They have all these old black and white photos of the Miss America Pagent back in it's early days at Atlantic City. It was really cool to see

Hey guys...former Jersey Girl here (Marlton)....too!

We stayed there for our honeymoon and we loved it! It must be growing up with all that boardwalk history...staying there just felt right! We're staying at the beach club next time so we have a view of the boardwalk!!!!

Yes, We stayed at Boardwalk Villas (we're DVC members) back in 2002 and I think we're planning on staying there on our next trip (not sure when that is yet). I'm with you and supersuperwendy - it does remind me of the NJ shore!

(and I can't believe you've never been to AC! We don't go to gamble, but we've seen quite a few shows and concerts there! It's so nice to see a concert and only have a 15-20 minute ride home afterwards, compared to going to Philly and having at least an hour ride!

Can't wait to read more about your trip!

This was the first trip to the World during the holidays so I really didn't know what to except when it came to decorations. I knew the GF had that gigantic gingerbread house but that was about it. I had no idea the Boarwalk had a gingy house of it's own! Much smaller than the GF's of course but it still smelled yummy!

do you see that?? 320 pounds of chocolate!!!:scared1:

Next to the gingy house was this model of a roller coaster. I thought this was really cool because way back when, I used to ride on wooden roller coasters on the boarwalk!

We really only had an hour or so to kill before we had to leave for the Christmas Party so we explored the hotel. I had never seen pics of this hotel and couldn't get over how gorgeous it was! I don't think it gets enough credit.

***FINALLY*** Off to the Magic Kingdom for my first EVER Very Merry Christmas Party!!!!!

We are looking into the whole DVC stuff. We never feel like stopping and talking to the CM's but really want to know what's it's all about and I definitely would like to stay in the Boardwalk Villas!

OH WAIT!!! I LIED, I've been to AC ONCE! And that was for my SIL's bachlorette party and I had the worse time ever! But I think that was soley because of the people we were with. We went to one casino, then parked it at the dizzy dolphin and paid entirely too much money on drinks! I'll have to make it a point to go just to see and experience it the right way. Growing up I was at the boardwalk in seaside and pt pleasant just about every weekend- and have been to wildwood. We are so spoiled with all the options we have!

:wave2: Hi to all the other Jersey Girls, I am from North Jersey and we usually go to Wildwood every year but not last year and not this year because its Disney this year in April. Great report so far, I am looking forward to reading more.

Great TR! The boardwalk looked beautiful.

I'm also a central jersey girl but now I'm north jersey.

Can't wait to hear more!

I am lovin' all the Jersey girlies! We have an ongoing joke in my office because the company started in North Jersey, Edison to be exact, and now it is in Central Jersey. All the people that are from Northern Jersey say that the people with a 609 area code are "a little special" :lmao: They say we have a different accent :confused3 Too funny! I hope to get some more of the trippie up later today or tomorrow. I am at work after all :surfweb:

Finally it was time to head over to the MK! The whole reason we decided on this trip was to go to Mickey's Christmas Party! :santa: We walked to Epcot and took the monorail from the TTC to the MK. It seemed much easier than the ferry boats and busses. Plus, I LOVE the monorail. That man's voice gets stuck in my head for the rest of the day! :rotfl:

We're Here, We're Here!!!

Since there are two parades during the Party, we decided we would see the second one and hit the rides during the first one. There were no lines anywhere! We had some hot chocolate too! I have to admit, I didn't think it was going to be that good but it really was. I had the apple slices too. Brian had some cookies and they were yummy too.
