My husband LOVES Typhoon Lagoon and REALLY wants to go back, however, I'd like to visit Blizzard Beach since he's never been and I haven't been since the 90's. We do have the days in our trip to allow for two different water park days, but is that silly? Has anyone done two water parks in the same trip and have you thought they were different enough to make it worth doing? I'm slightly nervous as we're going end of Aug/beg September and it's known for rain and such, but with FP+ and ADRs I feel like we can't switch around days and have to plan for our water park days in advance regardless of weather. What do you typically do?

I'm planning on doing this. We are staying for 8 days and purchased a 5 day PH/WPMF passes so the WP will fill in the days we are not going to the park and hopefully it will work. We plan on hitting BB the first day we arrive since we don't plan to go the parks on that day. It doesn't sound crazy to me (I hope). We'll be there for 4th of July and I was thinking of using that day for TL since I'm assuming the parks will be SOOOOOOOO crowded. HTH :D

Good to know we won't be the only ones! Now are you planning the days in advance and just hoping for no rain and good weather, or will you be waking up and deciding where to go each day? I remember we used to do that as children, but now with FP+ and the ADRs we feel like we have to plan in advance, which is sort of annoying.

We are planning to go to both during our nine day trip. We will be there mid July and I think spending time at the water parks will be enjoyable at that time of the year. We have a different touring strategy than most though as we don't get up early and head to the parks. In that hot type of weather we won't even get to the parks until after dinner time. I'm not worried about seeing everything. I'm just worried about having fun! So for us both parks will make sense. We aren't planning which of our days will be water park days since we will never have FP+ scheduled in the morning regardless. If we wake up to a beautiful day that isn't disgustingly hot during the trip we might choose to head to our evening park early. If we wake up to a rainy day we'll probably head to the park early as well. If we wake up to 100 degree weather we'll head to a water park. So I'll have FP+ scheduled and already have ADRs, but since they are either in the evening or breakfast ADRs they won't impact what we do during the early part of our day. Have a wonderful trip!

We are going in may and will do both. Our plans start the day in the park spend the afternoon at the water park and go back to the park for dinner

I don't think it is silly to do both! We like to go to the water parks as soon as they open for shorter lines on the slides. Usually the rain will be in the afternoon if it rains.

We did both on our last trip (May 2013). We were there for 9 days. We did late morning-early afternoon I think. It's tricky in summer with the rain - during our first trip in June we had to leave TL because we were there in the afternoon and there was lightning so they shut everything down. The two water parks are different enough to do both. I think on our next trip we will probably just do one, only because we aren't huge water park people. We may substitute for an afternoon at Disney Quest - we had a lot of fun there on our last trip, and it comes with the water parks and more option on the tickets.

We did both during our last trip and didn't find it silly at all. They each have a different feel and different slides. We added the water park and more option (we also did Disney Quest) and it was like one was free! We also spent time at the resort pool.

Our last trip was before FP+ so we were able to move our water park days around based on the weather when we woke up. I'm not sure how I'd do it now with FP+.

We go to both WPs but Love Blizzard Beach the most. Typhoon Lagoon is cool but just not the best.

We will be there for 9 days in May and bought the 5 day with water park/more ticket. We will probably do three water park days plus Disney Quest and a round of mini golf. We also plan on spending time at our resort pool. In the past we have spent up to 4 or 5 half or full days at the water parks. My DH and kids actually enjoy the water parks more then the theme parks. Less waiting in line and less heat. During the hot afternoon when lines are longest for the slides we enjoy the wave pool and lazy river. Often we will head into a park in the evening after dinner after a day spent at the water park.

We go during the summer so two days at the water parks is always part of our trip. We love the water parks so much that we sometimes squeeze another half day in during the same visit.

Not silly at all! We do both on pretty much every trip! We normally add the water park, fun and more option on because my kids love the waterparks and Disney Quest. We don't do full waterpark days, we just do a few half days scattered throughout our trip

We've done both before in one trip and when we did, it was our first time going to both TL and BB. We were going for a long enough stay (9 nights/10 days) so we were excited to try them both, and then on our trip last May we went to TL twice. I don't think it is crazy to do both water parks in one trip, there is so much to see and do at both and since your DH hasn't been to BB before, he could still go to the one that he knows and loves and try something new too. Have a great time.

we do both all the time. Add the water parks option to your tickets as when you go more then once it will save you a few dollars. We have done trips that we go as many as four times. Twice to each.

We almost always go to both during our late August trips. Usually arrive at opening ( look for am EMH- great!) and stay until it gets unbearably crowded (1pm ish?). Rest of day is spent in hotel, pool, nice dinner and something like DTD. If it's open late, we may do evening in a park. Perfect day when it's hot.

Definitely not crazy to do both. Even if you go for part of the day after being in the parks I'd say Go For It!!!:thumbsup2

We always do both when we've gone in the summer.

Thank you all so much for the responses! Glad to see I'm not the only one who will be going to both water parks in the same trip! I feel a lot less crazy now :thumbsup2

I do plan, I find its part of the fun for me since I'm in charge of the whole group. Our group consists of 2 kids (6yo and 4yo), a teen 15yo and 3 adults, and we all enjoy the water so I think its going to be a big hit going to the WP. I've only been to TL, but looking forward to BB. Since we are visiting during summer month (July) I think the parks will be open late so we can visit in the evening if we choose to. Have a great trip!:disrocks:
